Gosh, where to start. Let's start with the fact no one had reviewed this business on yelp in a very long time. This place was recommended to me but was advised to avoid the female vet due to the fact she did a dental on a dog who had a cancerous mouth tumor and went unnoticed and later died. Why would any clinic employ someone this careless? I saw a female relief vet but wouldn't have known this initially because your pet is taken to the back for assessment, etc. My dog is TERRIFIED of vet clinics and I said do not do anything that I'm not aware of, please! I was asked twice if my dog was due for rabies and I replied multiple times I'm not sure, I'd have to look at her records (which were still packed after having just moved) and that if she was due we have a holistic vet where we receive mercury free vaccines. Tech took my dog to the back, came back and asked me (a 3rd time) if my dog needed a rabies vaccine. Same response was given that I had given multiple times within the last 10 minutes. I hear a dog screaming in the back.....never knew that was MY dog doing the screaming! The vet then comes in, makes suggestions which were many. My dog has a benign heart murmur and said she needed an echo. She left the room and then came back in 5 min later to tell me she 'accidently' gave my dog a rabies vaccine. Accidently? I asked how was this an accident and she just replied, "it was an accident". I'm going to need more explanation than that! You drew up a solution in a syringe and then injected it into my dog and you call that an accident? AFTER I had said MULTIPLE times NOT to give my dog a rabies vaccine? Nothing was said to me about what happened, no apologies even though I was clearly upset. I thought about it for several days, decided to call and ask to speak to practice manager. That would be the clinic owner, Leon Anderson. He said he was aware of what happened but chose to not reach out. He also told me at this time that the echo could be done there it would be sent out to read by a licensed cardiologist. I returned for said echo, labs were drawn and because a liver enzyme was elevated told me my dog needed an ultrasound and that it too would be sent out to be ready by licensed radiologist. He also suggested another test which I complied, he's the expert here, right? Over $12000 later (for JUST this visit) I was told her procedure would NOT be delayed. Two days later I received an email stating her procedure was going to be delayed as Dr Anderson wanted to repeat labs and do another ultrasound. I called after receiving email and was told by front desk that no, my dog was still on the schedule and it was not delayed. I then received a phone call that it HAD been cancelled, they wanted to start her on a medication (one that is a human medication and easily filled at a pharmacy). I requested it be called it in to my pharmacy and was told a firm 'no' as they require Rx's to be filled using their online pharmacy. Was told they offer discounts and it would be $48. It was $15 at my pharmacy so that's not going to work for me. I then had another conversation with Anderson (who refers to himself as, "Doc Anderson" .....insert eyeroll). He told me that the shelf life of medications in pharmacies can't be verified and are unreliable and that is why they ONLY use their OWN online pharmacy. They think people are stupid I suppose as we all know it's because he makes a profit off said 'online pharmacy'. I shared this story with my pharmacist friends who found it comical. There is much more to this experience at this god forsaken clinic than what I can put in one reivew. Anderson who would tell me one thing and then weeks later call back to cancel the date of the procedure AGAIN! The clinic called me (again) a week prior to the procedure (for the 2nd/3rd time) to cancel procedure saying that if the labs were abnormal they wouldn't be able to fill that spot. Odd seeing how I had to wait many weeks to get on the schedule and was

They got us in last minute when my two Shih Tzu’s got in a small fight. One caught a tooth on her eyelid and it looked way worse than it was. Their empathy and ability to take in a new customer last minute was amazing. They will be our new vet now since we are in Elizabeth now.

Elizabeth Animal Hospital has been taking care of my dogs and cat for 23 years now! I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else! Dr.s Anderson and Allyn have taken care of all 4 of my dogs and my one cat, from the day I got them until the very end. I've included a picture of my current baby girl, Dottie.
