There are 5 employees standing around and five of us waiting. The board said one minute about 8 minutes ago. I got a text 30 minutes ago telling me to rush over. I'm about to walk out the door

I know this place is busy and is not fully staffed so I get there early. Today I arrived at 8:31, 29 minutes before they opened. No one else was there. By the time 9 rolls around there are 7 people outside. A lady walks up and says she the opener is running just a few minutes late and heads around back. 5 minutes later the opener puts a piece of paper on the inside of the door saying they won’t be opening until 10 due to staffing. You were late, it wasn’t a staffing issue. Also, have the respect to open door and communicate to the people that are outside.

Nice Friendly people . Always busy. Good hair cuts but not very fast. They talk to each other a lot and wonder around while the lobby is getting full , not really doing anything. So make sure u got a whole day to spend to get a hair cut there.

Good place to go if you're in a relative hurry and don't really care about spending $35 for a halfway decent haircut while watching sports on TV while hearing a regular unsmiling, disingenuous malaise of, "welcome in" as people enter the shop. It seems like Sports Clips model is to attract men with the prospect of sexualized female "referee" stylists (according to their marketing materials... not the reality of the shop) and constant sports on TV, but they are missing the most important factor in running a barber shop/hair cuttery - consistency in quality of hair cuts. In my conversations with the stylists, I have learned that most of them have been cutting hair for less than 2 years.I've had my hair cut here 4 times, the first cut I received was actually pretty good, and the stylist offered a neck massage and shampoo+conditioner+scalp massage. I have left feeling either unimpressed or disappointed every visit since then. It is clearly posted that the neck massage is free on your first visit, so I don't expect it when I visit... I do, however, expect a good haircut. This last visit I agreed to a shampoo/scalp massage treatment, and the stylist barely touched my head (okay, that's hyperbole... She touched my head and shampooed my hair with the weakest contact pressure I have ever felt during a shampoo), then she tried to upsell me as though I were in a strip-club, whispering to me, asking if I want to "double down." When I said I don't understand what she's asking, she said that a double down would buy me another scalp massage with conditioner this time. I wanted to reply, "You're joking, right?" But instead I politely declined. When she "finished" cutting my hair, I had to point out the places where patches of hair were sticking out.Upon being rung up for the haircut and shampoo they billed as a triple play ($35), their POS prompts for tips of $7 (20% of 35), $10 (29% of 35!), and I think it was $12 (34%) or $15 (43%!!!)!!! I am happy to be generous with gratuity when the service and product warrants it, but even restaurants' tip options usually start at 15%. Regardless, the option to leave a custom tip was in fine print towards the bottom of the screen, and not very apparent. Very off-putting!To be fair, their store is usually clean, generally there isn't much of a wait, and their hair and beard products are pretty good! So, thanks for the opportunity Sports Clips. I will be taking my business to non-franchise, locally owned barber shops from now on.
