Hadn’t been over to Second Story Books in a few years now since the kids have gotten older. We were excited to see the move across the hall with more space but thankfully the organization and “true book nerd finds”, as my wife would say, were still present. Through the years this has been our family’s go to store for our homeschooling book needs. Great prices and always an attentive staff every time we make a trip here. On this particular trip our son even bought an older print of a classic for his Mother’s Day gift. Thank you Second Story Books for the memories and molding of a family through printed works.

Such a cute spot with an amazing collection of used and unique books for reasonable prices. Even if you don’t plan to purchase a book - the interior is beautifully setup and worth a stop inside. Whenever we return to Durango this will be a must stop to see what they have in store.

It is very hard to not spend all my money here. Their new space is incredible. More books, more natural light! The ladies running this place are lovely and helpful. Free pickings outside the door! Prices average $7-$10 I'd say, which is more than reasonable given the curation.

Small but mighty! I left with a stack of great books. I was welcomed and helped throughout my visit. The store is lovely and neat as a pin. They are moving to a new property this weekend and their new space will be 4 times larger. Congratulations and best wishes!

This store is located up stairs in a historic building. Books available to shop for outside and inside the bookstore. For a small place- it is well stocked! The owner helped me find books I wanted and offered me cookies while I shopped. Prices are reasonable and if they don't have the book you want- they will send you elsewhere!

I was a college student over at the fort and to discover that there was a used book store in town was a dream. The first time I went there I knew that would 100% be the place for me. The books! Ugh i could not tell you how much money I spent before I went home. The staff I met were so nice! Plus the other customers I bumped into were nice as well!

Wonderful experience here. Lots of goodies to choose from and excellent help! Gloria goes above and beyond to meet your needs and help you find good reads! The entrance is a little hairy to find so if you’re not familiar with the area I suggest calling ahead so you don’t miss out on all the great books!

Super cute little bookstore. Very well organized. Free cookies out for the kids. And a free "rescue shelf" outside with some pretty decent titles! A great gem nestled in Durango.

A neat hidden gem in downtown Durango. There was a great variety of titles in a wide amount of genres. I got a book of flute music and a collection of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories.

Walk upstairs to a peaceful space filled with rare, used and collectible books. Some nice first editions. Lots of hardcover titles that are long out of print to fill your home library.
