“I love local bookstores. I enjoy walking into Maria's and browsing and finding books that I had not been looking for. They have a great selection for a small bookstore. In addition, they have a great selection of cards and kids section. the location is right on Main Avenue in downtown Durango, with free parking in downtown Durango on the weekends and late evenings.”
“Hadn’t been over to Second Story Books in a few years now since the kids have gotten older. We were excited to see the move across the hall with more space but thankfully the organization and “true book nerd finds”, as my wife would say, were still present. Through the years this has been our family’s go to store for our homeschooling book needs. Great prices and always an attentive staff every time we make a trip here. On this particular trip our son even bought an older print of a classic for his Mother’s Day gift. Thank you Second Story Books for the memories and molding of a family through printed works.”
“This is a great opportunity to see what life was like in the late 1800s / early 1900s.. this old school, cabin, and house are well preserved. The tour is free, donations welcome. When you first enter, you will listen to a presentation in an old classroom, then you have access to roam by yourself. The museum has artifacts from the Ute tribes, miners, firemen, schoolhouse, and more.”
