“The Dolores General Store has a bit of everything, just as its name implies. Dolores is a tiny town; therefore, having a local general store like this one must be essential, unless you don't mind driving out to Cortez (...but Dolores is so much more pleasant). On a hot summer afternoon during our road trip through Colorado, my husband mentioned getting ice cream at the Dolores General Store, the same store that looks like a converted auto repair shop and sells paint.... I had my doubts, but figured there was no harm in checking it out. I was surprised to see that they actually have an ice cream counter with large tubs of ice cream to choose from. We were barely at the counter when an employee showed up to help us; he was very pleasant towards us.”
