Very busy area depending on the day, with high shooting activity in numerous areas. Decent camping areas, however the nightlife can be loud with ATV activity even though there should not be any. Wouldn’t recommend, even after multiple visits.

Great trailhead, free camping up to 14 days, has a vault toilet (only free place to camp that has a toilet for the old lady/kids, that I could find in the area)

Please don't build bonfires above ground. Any wind at all and this great camping area burns. Dig a proper fire pit or use the ones already there. Line the pit with rocks or dirt. Not looking forward to a 3rd summer that is 2 months of orange/brown skies. I'm sure that property owners state wide would appreciate the effort. Colorado is not a lush, green, humid state like most eastern states. Most the time we have statewide fire bans due to ongoing drought conditions. I camped here in 2019 and pulled up to a smoldering log left at the site. Please have fires safely.

Nice place to camp and to ride whether it's on an ATV dirt bike or side by side. Every time I come here there is always a nice camping spot to be found. When I leave I leave it clean, please take your trash with you.
