Ian is an excellent mechanic. He recently helped me troubleshoot some challenges with a bike build project, and completed a speedy, professional install of a few crucial components. I appreciated his knowledge and professionalism in dealing with me and my bike.

I had a fantastic experience at Velowood today...my back tire had been getting flats the last 3 times I rode around town and again today...I didn't know what was going on and took it in to Velowood to see if they could help. Ian immediately looked things over, explaining what he saw, ideas to fix it, set me up to keep going, and said to come back if anything else happened. My bike is good to go and I really appreciate the care and attention. I'd highly recommend Velowood to anyone needing help with bike support...check them out...you won't be disappointed!!!

This was my first time going to a bike store and I needed to revamp my bike quite a bit. The only problem was, I didn’t really know exactly what needed - or how to articulate it well!Ian was super patient, knowledgeable, and didn’t make me feel like a dummy. I knew my beloved bike was in good hands from the get-go. I had a great experience.I will not be going anywhere else! ☺️

Listen we live in a city with a lot of bike shops, you can find that expertise anywhere (which you'll find at Velowood too) but what you won't find is a business led with their humanity. This is HANDS down my favorite and only bike shop in Denver. Can't recommend it enough. They won't upsell you or try to trick you which is so often the experience of women/femmes/nonbinary folks at bike shops. They'll be honest and explain things in a way you can understand and make your own choices for your bike. Plus if you wait there's the Tattered Cover right there. I'd recommend to anyone who wants their bike and trust in good and kind hands.

Thank you! Velowood Cyclery was a random choice for me to purchase my bicycle as a new resident of Denver. They were more than accommodating in helping me purchase my bicycle. It's been a long while since I rode a bicycle and they got me set up with everything I need. More than happy with my purchase and looking forward to returning for maintenance.

Had an old pair of Bridgestone's brought back to life (and into the modern age!) with meticulous expertise by the Velowood staff. Hands on communication throughout the whole process, and despite being in the thickest part of the season, a quick turnaround. Thankful for our experience.

Ian offered great suggestions and advice in getting my road bike to perform it's best. It is a bit of an older model and some of the parts were worn and replacements were recommended, but other (less worn) components could be maintained.Very honest evaluation of the bikes condition.Was contacted during repairs about an unforseen issue that came to light during disassembly and offered options.Even with having to order parts, Ian still finished all the work in 1 week!Bike rides and feels great. Time frame, price and service was all top self.Local, independent shop and highly recommended!

This place is the best around! Ian is a bicycle genius and I really get a sense that he's motivated to see his customers happy and on the road. Velowood is my go to shop whenever I have issues beyond my purview on my bikes and when the time comes for me to buy a new one these folks are first on my list to help me shop and build another dream machine. Thanks for all that you do!

I stopped in to see if my bike could fit me better, because the frame was a bit large for me. The mechanics at the cyclery were really great. They advised me on options and found a shorter bike stem that was a better fit. They had it installed within a half hour - and I was on my way. The bike feels better now. Thanks!
