I had a fine experience at Thrifty Car Rental at the Denver Airport. The shuttle bus from the terminal was efficient and courteous. The counter staff was friendly and professional, and the woman who showed me to the car and helped find and record scratches so I wouldn't be blamed was helpful.
The counter service was a little slow. This looked mostly to be a software problem, it seemed like an awful lot of keystrokes were required. For instance, since Thrifty and Dollar are in the same office the agent had to log off of Dollar then log in to Thrifty, which added a little time to the transaction, although no more than 30 sec or so. But it could have been done with a mouse click. Perhaps corporate could work on their software to make it more efficient for their counter staff to do their job.
But other than a small wait in line, which really wasn't all that bad, everything went fine.

Be prepared to exercise your patience. The place was overcrowded and had a few people between the two car companies to support the incoming clients. This was around 1:00 PM in the afternoon and we saw similar crowds when we returned at 3:00 Pm the next day.
Make sure to have your reservation itinerary printed as the mobile site lags really hard out by the airport. This is important because the system did not have our reservation information which led to us having to wait a longer than normal time to get the vehicle as we had to refill out the information even though we had the confirmation details in our email.
Observing other customers I found that there were many instances of not having the vehicles available and it seems that people had to pay for the available upgraded vehicles.
The service agent was friendly and kind which is why I provided 3 stars. The upgraded vehicle was adequate for what we needed it for but not worth the price.

I would recommend renting elsewhere. They advertise an online check in where you can bypass the counter and go straight to your car, however after all the hassle of completing the online check in, it does not work! Instead, I arrived after a long flight to a line of about 30 customers and only 2 people working the counter. The front desk people were so kind and helpful but this location definitely needs more help. And until they get it, head to the Enterprise down the road.

We completed our online registration well in advance, and were told we could go directly to our car. However, we were disappointed to instead wait in line 10-15 minutes. The saving grace was a very friendly agent who put us into a nicer car than we had prepaid.

I rented from Dollar rentals, I was surprised that we had to go to Thrify car rental to get our car. The gentleman that helped us was not helpful or nice. Never said please or thank you.
We walked back to get our car, and a very nice woman named T helped us. She upgraded us to a better car for free. She was the highlight of our experience.
One more thing, I am a Dollar Express member. I should be able to bypass the counter and then straight to my car. That was so disappointing!

Shocking experience. Went through all emails and texts to "skip the line" only to not have a vehicle allocated so had to queue anyway. 50 people in the queue and only 1 staff member so crazy long wait. Could literally have walked to my final destination quicker. Never again

Worst check-in process ever. If you check in on the phone, upload license, and pay, you should just be able to grab a key and go not wait for 35 people ahead of you. Worst rental car experience in 30 years. At least have a "self check out", scan ID get key and go. Already purchased the protection so no need to upsell anything. Clearly self check out is in time out for some reason.

They asked about a basic package vs premium and that the basic package was no additional charge. But they did charge me. Of course it's difficult to get in touch with customer service. Be really careful about letting them sneak on extra charges.

I want to share my experience, which was better than average. I used the self-checkout function online, so I didn’t have to go to the front desk or wait in line, which is the main issue mentioned in most of the reviews. I was upgraded because the car size I reserved wasn’t available, which was fine. The only negative aspect was during the car drop-off; the representative wasn’t very helpful. However, the email I received provided the necessary information, although it was still a bit frustrating.

Personal items went missing as we were unloading the car. I turned right around to get my stuff, and it was gone. They lied and said it wasn't in the car.

Beware of the double tax scam these guys are pulling. If you prepay for a car, you will be charged a concession recovery fee, a facility fee, and state fee. When you arrive for the rental they will then tell you that they charge the taxes at the site and they charge you all over again for the same taxes
The manager directly told me if I don't like it to leave.
