Wished for a better experience. No sleep until 4 a.m., no refrigerator in the room or ice on the floor for left overs from their restaurant. Staff nice, friendly, Cruise Room bartenders great, Valet excellent, Continental breakfast disappointing with awkward location, poor seating, etc
Would not recommend the hotel at these prices.

I'm surprised to see such positive reviews for this hotel. It's not terrible, but it's definitely not good.
Positives are the location (steps away from Union Station and many places to eat, drink, etc). And the staff is friendly. They also provide complimentary coffee (and breakfast) in the lobby in the morning. And they provide complimentary access to a nice gym next door. The gym is better than most hotel gyms.
Things that were not good:
1. Our room was uncomfortable. The room itself was generously sized and the bed was okay. But there are not enough places to put things down / away. So we just had stuff all over the room and it felt chaotic because we couldn't get organized.
2. The bathroom is incredibly small with no storage whatsoever. And the sink was about 7 inches across. The smallest sink I've ever seen, with zero water pressure. It was very difficult to use it to wash my face/ brush my teeth. Shower was tiny as well. And I'm a petite person, even tiny for me.
3. This hotel doesn't want to do housekeeping. You have to request it by 11am each day if you want it. And one day when I requested it, they told me they were short-staffed and could only provide fresh towels and empty the garbage. I insisted on housekeeping, and they did provide it. But they don't seem to want to do it .
Overall, the hotel is just okay. Certainly not deserving of such a high rating on Google though. I was disappointed based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I would not stay there again on account of the uncomfortable room and terrible bathroom situation. But if you're a solo traveler who doesn't care much about a bathroom, maybe you'll be fine.

Beautiful but old hotel. For many this will be part of the charm. Our room was nice, fairly spacious and had a nice bed. The bathroom was definitely old fashioned. Nice cocktail lounge and the hotel is great with little added value like a nightly voucher for that lounge. The location was great for us but, yes, noises given its location just a block from Union
station. The best part of that is that you can take the train from the airport right to the hotel. I probably would stay again.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful, pleasant, and efficient, even on a holiday weekend. Rooms were beautiful and well-appointed. Location is eminently walkable to so many things downtown, and the Red Rocks shuttle picks up across the street. Highly recommend.

If you want decent sleep… do not stay here. I understand the hotel is historic/old, but management could at least put in some sort of sound maintenance on the windows…. You could hear word for word conversations! The bathroom window is so bad, you can almost fit a finger around it because the caulking has failed/doesnt exist anymore. We didn’t get any sleep at all, and that means a lot considering my sister is from NYC… she’s used to noise.
The staff could have mentioned they have earplugs at the desk (when I checked out they acted like “oh well, it’s an old hotel”). In addition there was a dead moth in the bathroom, and hairs on the tub….. just not worth the price one bit. Disappointed.

Giving one star because this should never occur under any woman's spa circumstances. Ever! Severe violation of trust and privacy. Absolutely not ok for this man to come into the woman’s locker room to refill towels, empty robes while we are in there changing clothes, showering naked and coming out of the sauna. Any reasonable person would have turned around and walked out. Instead HE TOOK HIS TIME and his body was directed toward the showers. The towels were not empty and could have waited. Cringeworthy worrying a woman would walk out of the shower or sauna naked. Not ok! Completely ruined a spa experience of relaxation, feeling safe when the staff everywhere was completely 5 star. Shared with the young woman who checked us out. The gravity of discounting our massage by $20 did nothing. An investigation of this man needs to occur here because this is the behavior of a predator. Train staff regarding process, privacy and decency because this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Super creepy and felt like he was taking his time for a woman to come out of shower naked. Still deeply disturbed for the violation of trust, safety, and lack of privacy.

A very special place! Love the history, the charm, and the staff. The service and staff were perfection. Our hotel room was cozy, comfortable, and offered everything we needed! However, even on the 5th floor facing the Main Street, the party kept us up from 1:30 am-4am. Between the roaring vehicles, street conversation, and whatever was happening.... I had my white noise blaring and still couldn't sleep. This is not the hotels fault but just an unfortunate situation. Recommend staying..just request a room on other side or do not stay on the weekend when the party crowd is out and about on the street. Also, if I had my young children with me... it would of been even more of a nightmare of sleep due to the noise. Hoping this changes for the hotels sake because it's so beautiful and charming!

I booked a room here and when I got to the front desk, I learned that they didnt. give my room away. They then charged me $300 as a no-show which is not insane. They literally didn't steal my money. When I called they offered to refund my card. The front desk was also not super rude to me. Do stay here, plenty of other places not as good.

I experienced the ultimate zen body scrub and massage at the Oxford Hotel Spa in Downtown Denver. This boutique urban spa and hotel has a spacious locker room with a steam shower which I took advantage of upon arrival. I chose the ultimate zen 90 min to get a combination of body scrub since my skin was dry and I also wanted a massage. Lori was my therapist and she was very thoughtful and was able to vary the pressure as needed. I chose deeper pressure and she was able to accommodate. The products used smelled beautiful and the scrub was thinner granules, wasn’t abrasive and had a beautiful light citrus scent, they said it was Japanese Yuzu. I loved this treatment and honestly it was so good I was sad when it ended. I’ll definitely come back again. Miriam, the Spa Director, and the entire team at the Oxford were highly attentive and I felt very cared for. It was a great location for our 100+ person conference in Denver as well! I love the special touches like the Bourbon tastings and morning coffee and light bites. Centrally located, wonderful rooms, and close to lots of restaurants and things to do. We loved it and would definitely come back again.

I have stayed at the Oxford several times while visiting Denver. The location is great with proximity to Union Station and the Rockies baseball stadium. Tons of bars and restaurants are nearby and it’s extremely walkable. The Oxford has an old-fashioned field, but in a very classy way. Staff is amazing in the afternoon bourbon tasting is a nice touch. Highly recommend.

This place is absolutely five out of five stars. The amazing Bellmen at the start, all the way through check-in and the delicious breakfast to start the day.
Stewart at the Bell Stand was hilarious, remembering my name and face every time I visit and goes above and beyond to make my stay special. Really a great asset to this hotel and he’s remembered me since the 90’s!
Alexis at the front desk really lit up the room with her smile and welcoming affect. I felt so comfortable and relaxed that I sat and enjoyed the front lobby for an extra hour just to see all the people coming in and greeted after me! Outstanding experience.

The porters outside the hotel were great. Otherwise the staff were lacking. I had a broken drawer and a robe hanger. Told staff...nothing. At breakfast in the lobby for 2 mornings, I think the staff were sleeping. I had to ask for oj, food, sugar, coffee, cups. It was riduculous. If you have to keep asking for items, I can imagine the rest of their service. And this is not a cheap hotel. It was close to Amtrak and LODO but so are lots of hotels. There are better options.

Great hotel and location to walk to Coors field. Very noisy though, even with a noise maker on. We we in a corner room 3rd floor.
Bedding was nice but mattress was not comfortable. No refrigerator in room.
I would not stay there again due to the noise, as we didn't sleep the entire time we were there!
Rooms: Nice being but hard mattresses. Very noisy corner with lots of lots traffic.
Nearby activities: Coors field and lots of great places to eat in walking distance
Walkability: Great location to walk wherever you need to go. Union Station, Coors Field, and The Snooze (breakfast eatery) a must!
Noteworthy details: This hotel has a well known martini bar we enjoyed.

Alexis at the front desk was great. Actually everyone we interacted with was amazing!
