Told me in person he only uses off label brands, insisted on a sizable deposit before quoting, then listed items with brand names on the quote. The quote came out for an incomplete long-block minus pushrods rockers or oil pump that would cost more than if I bought a long-block from blueprint with actual name brand parts.

I have a 71 Chevy Chevelle and never enough time to work on it on my own. Most consumers are suspicious of getting ripped off or misguided at garages, as we should be. I am so happy that I was referred to Jim and his team. He gave me honest expectations on time frame and was completely transparent with pricing etc. My car is now starting every single time I want to drive it and I LOVE having a peace of mind knowing I have Jim close by to help me when I need it! Took a little 1.9 Saturn motor to them to have it bored 20 over after getting the motor back home I checked the end gaps they were spot on! Very reasonable price very fast turnaround.

If I could give negative starts I would. I took a block in a few years ago and I needed a bore and hone. After the work was done the shop insisted I get a cam and cam bearings to them for the instal of those items I did not ask for that to be done. After a week or 2 went by I called to let them know I would be by to pick up my block and pay for the work. Spitfire informed me they no longer had my block and sold it because it "sat around too long" I would not recommend using this shop EVER! will never use this shop again myself. Came across the shop online so I figured I'd leave a review ? hope this helps someone make the right decision for engine repair work

THESE CLOWNS BUILD A FORD FE 427 AND DELIVERED THE ENGINE TO THE CUSTOMER WITH 10 POUNDS OF OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE, AND ONLY 40 POUNDS OF PRESSURE A 6500 R.P.M. WOULD NOT OFFER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. JUST SAID DRIVE IT. ENGINE ONLY LASTED ONE MONTH. DON'T USE THESE GUYS FOR YOUR BUILD.
