Thought we would try this Safeway right down the street instead of King Sooper. Big mistake!!!! Got most of the shopping done until we hit the deli for turkey meat. Saw the worker talking to another employee about shutting down and not staying there to keep it open past 7. So we went to the counter and were told " THIS STATION IS SHUT DOWN, IM SHUTTING DOWN". Seriously it's 7pm on a Sunday and she just didn't want to be at work any longer. Completely rude and attitude energy. I happen to match energy!!! I was not polite in my response. Laziness is not an option this day in age. Get it together Safeway!!! Maybe that's why your stores are closing left and right. Attitude and laziness do make make dollars!

DO NOT GO HERE. The place is toxic and has limited selection of certain items. Their clerk rang my items in - 3 of them costing $30 - and the technology OVER CHARGED ME $120. I didn’t see this on the scanner and had no receipt to get a refund dispute from my bank. This place COMPLETELY SUCKS.

Love that this store is walking distance in my neighborhood, so I can walk to grab my groceries for the week…don’t really love the way the self checkout lady keeps singling me out and forcing me to move checkout registers, harassing me over my own reusable bags, etc. i understand needing to keep an overall watch for stealing, but I have been shopping here for over a year and have never had an issue until the last two months of visits. It’s getting exhausting wondering if this woman is going to cause me more anxiety than I already have when trying to grocery shop. I just want to buy my weekly groceries, not be watched and targeted while trying to use self checkout.
Update: after reading these reviews, it seems that I’m not the only queer tattooed person being targeted by this same woman :/

Often busier than I would prefer, there aren't enough checkouts to keep lines short. Prices are fine as long as you use the app.

This location has a rude terrible manager. His name is Leo. I've been an instacart shopper for 4 years. I have shopped just a little under five thousand orders. I am perfectly capable of checking my order out. Can I do it faster and more efficiently than cashiers that I had to wait in line for far too long. I asked if I could go through the self. Checkout, and he very rudely told me no. I tried to explain myself and he goes. I don't care. You should probably hire more cashiers.
To accomplish the job. I haven't had this issue at any other chain at any other location in the denver metro area. This location is a waste of time. The other employees I spoke with were wonderful. I feel bad they work for such a rude man.

Writing this solely to call attention to the fact that the self checkout is now restricted to 15 items or less. I understand that the reason is due to an increase in shoplifting, but if it's such a big problem why aren't they eliminating the option altogether? Or, better yet, just enforce shoplifting laws? I'm fuming at the loss of self checkout which I've grown very used to, enough that I'm going to start shopping somewhere else. ?♀️

This store's convenience is so important that it is difficult to avoid going there. But we have now had people get physically ill on two separate occasions from meat purchased at this store. We know it could not have been anything else, but it is so difficult to prove that there is no point in pursuing action against them. When I explained this to our neighbor she told us that she had also gotten ill after eating ground turkey from this store. Twice I reported this to the corporate Safeway website for customer complaints and twice I received an email stating that they were sorry and that I would receive a call. No one ever called. We only grab non-perishable items here. It is regrettable that our neighborhood store cannot be trusted.

The Deli personal is rude! I asked for black
Pepper turkey never got asked how I would like it cut. Personal started to cut I said it’s to thick sorry I wanted it shaved she graved the turkey all rude and throw it in the trash can ! Gosh I left I am not coming here again all that was not needed

Staff is preemptively helpful. Safeway was neat and clean, very easy to locate almost anything.

Don't shop here. I have lived in the neighborhood for years and can promise you you will save time and money by driving an extra minute or two to King Soopers or any other grocery store

Was just in store to buy 2 things they were changing shifts so I asked the guy in the first lane by the door. If he was open, he didn’t really acknowledge. He just waved me that I could come over never make eye contact look like he was upset at something so he rang me up. I asked if I could have a bag still wasn’t making eye contact with me so I repeated myself because I didn’t know if he heard me and he didn’t say anything So I got the total he handed me my change didn’t look at me no bag so I picked up stuff and I said do I use these bags here at end of counter and he looked at me in a very, very disgusted manner and said what did you say so I said do I get the bags here and like I didn’t hear you say nothing about no bag and he goes on to say I hope you have a better day but in an odd manner. I don’t know who he is at Register, but with a mannerism like that, he does not belong Facing a customer. I took his mannerisms in his response when I asked about the bag as hostile very .
