Did a walk-in yesterday. Hands down the friendliest tattooing experience I've ever had. Akai was awesome. She was funny, welcoming, and transparent as she listened to what I was hoping to get, and Leo (the tattoo artist) was the same. Leo even offered a few different sizes and talked through the placement with me. Granted, they were slower since it was a holiday but still. The tattoo wasn't necessarily cheap (I knew that going into it) but it was done well and fast. I will absolutely be back for more and appreciate these two for making my Sunday.

Requested style: I brought a picture of a tattoo that my best friend had drawn. Leo did a very thorough job and we already have an appointment to get it finished and for him to do another tattoo that I would like.
Cleanliness: I was impressed with the vintage look of Ritual, the original individuals doing tattoos, and the cleanliness inside
Stylist: I got my tattoo from Leo at Ritual. He was very kind and thorough.

I'm not big on leaving reviews, and the work I have seen from this place's artists are consistently beautiful, but I figured I should share my recent walk-in experience for those that were thinking of trying something similar.
I called Ritual to clarify what I was wanting to get (a 2-inch line work moth, no shading) as a walk-in, and was told I would need to come in to show them the area and design in person. I gladly obliged, as I was happy they had any walk in time that day, but ended up leaving completely embarrassed.
Upon showing them the design (again, basic lines just on my forearm), I was told that it would be impossible to do as a walk in, as it would take too long to draw. I clarified that the reference at hand was exactly what I wanted, as I had drawn it myself, and that if the walk in artist wanted to change a few things so that it wasn't copy-and-paste, they could still keep it incredibly simple for the sake of time. I was told that I was too Pinterest and didn't know what I was talking about, despite me having 25+ tattoos, many of which were walk ins. I was additionally told that there was only one artist at this shop that would be willing to do it, but that he was booked for awhile. All of this was said quite loudly in front of other waiting customers, and I just walked out feeling as if I was ridiculous for even walking in.
Then! I go to another walk-in shop nearby just to see if they would respond the same way, and they couldn't believe it was turned away and laughed at! They finished the tattoo in less than an hour, the line work is beautifully done, and they never once made similar embarrassing comments regarding my design or placement. They were cheap, efficient, and very kind.
Like I said before, I think ritual has very talented artists, my limited time in the shop just left me feeling stupid and discouraged.

Leo Muñoz was a real pro. We had a blast on a custom commission he did for me. He made me feel right at home as did the rest of the staff at Ritual. Five Starzzz

I don’t really speak out on things like this because I don’t like to be public. This is regarding Aleah lebouf’s review at Ritual tattoo in during the past couple of days. I am the apprentice at the tattoo shop and I was the one to greet her. She explained to me a very intricate and big tattoo going down her ribs onto her thigh then she also added that she wanted two more things added to that which in, all fairness it would’ve took any artist a good three days to finish this tattoo. I recommended that she comes talk to Billy the next day just so it was not a “walk in”tattoo knowing the size and uniqueness that she wanted. I scheduled a time with her to come back in at 11 AM the next day to talk with Billy and he had a full day so he was under the impression that it was a talk about the Tattoo not so much appointment, which I think she was under the impression was going to happen. She showed up at 11:30 and talk to Billy when he told her he had a full day scheduled, he offered Frankie knowing his abilities to Tattoo, which she wanted. She then told Billy she was going to another consult at a different shop surrounding the area and she would come back. She came back when Frankie had got there and was upset when Frankie had already had an appointment booked because she had left to her other consult not confirming that she wanted it done at Ritual. When she returned from her consult, she got upset with Frankie and started to badmouth him in front of all the customers there and continued to talk to me saying that I was great, and that that Frankie was not. I believe from my perspective that Frankie was very professional as he always is and that she was very rude. She then began to threaten leaving a bad Google review. I apologized to her as well as Frankie did and she left. I don’t understand how she is claiming for us to be racially biased when I am Hispanic. To me it just seemed that she got upset because it didn’t work out in her favor.

Today my mom and I went here and got tattooed by Leo. We had trouble parking in the area so we called the shop and the guy who answered the phone was helpful and gave us several recommendations. Upon arrival someone was quick to come up to the front and get us checked in. Leo was quick to come and greet us as well. Leo did incredible work on both of us. He was sweet, talkative and quick. He complimented all of our other tattoos, made it a point to get to know us while we were in his chair and asked how we were doing often. The other artists also made friendly conversation and complimented what we were getting done by him. This shop had an incredible environment and wonderful, talented artists. We hope to go back and we definitely would recommend!

Ritual tattoo gallery. South Broadway. Denver Colorado. With the homie. She got nice Cherub's on forearm. Watch out for "heavy handed " Charley. If getting tattooed in sensitive areas. May want a light handed artist. The ink only has to go just below surface ,some guys like going for the bone. For some reason, ask him sure he has one.

I see I am an outlier here- but my mom and I were not stoked about our experience at ritual. We saw that walk ins were first come first served, so we got there right at 11 and he seemed really annoyed we were asking about a walk in. We both wanted small suns, and he told us that “circles are really hard” (which I don’t doubt but it was very strange that he seemed accusatory when telling us?) and we would be looking at $200-300 minimum per person (I attached the photo that we showed him lol). We went to a different shop that was so welcoming, had us both feeling super comfortable, and gave us the tattoos we wanted for $100 each. Sadly could not recommend ritual !
