I signed up for a 30 day challenge. Sprained ankle during the first class. Made an appointment at my primary care doctor, who addressed the problem.. requested a do not return to Barre for 6 months. The owner charged me for six more months of class. I certainly kept her in the loop as far as my injury. She ignored emails, phone calls,dr.s orders, . Needless to say, she sold her franchise. I contacted corporate office, requested a refund of over $600 for classes.. I attended one time..so angry.

They will never stop emailing you after you ask them to delete your information. Their sales tactics are aggressive and uncomfortable. Be careful.

I joined Pure Barre a month prior to the COVID19 lockdown, and have been an avid member, going 4-5 times per week. I always get there 5 min. prior to class, and today got there a couple minutes late to locked doors. Although I understand that even unlimited members are charged $15 for no show to prevent people from booking classes they do not attend, in this case I was there, yet the location manager refused to waive the fee. I should not be penalized for the gym being short staffed and having no one manning the front, especially when I have witnessed many times members walking in late when they have appropriate staffing. In these times of financial hardship, I chose to support my local gym by continuing to be a member, and had to be a couple minutes late due to a work call I was taking in my car in in the gym parking lot. A little understanding goes a long way when it comes to customer service - a term that is foreign to my gym. They do not value their members, chose another gym.

My experience at my local studio in Kitsilano was great but as soon as an issue popped up that my studio had to deal with corporate for, it was impersonal and unresolved. As a result of this poor customer service, I would sadly no longer recommend Pure Barre despite enjoying their classes.
