My dog has huge anxiety about the vet and we were actually turned away from our previous vet because he was “too aggressive.” Gental Touch took the time to get to know my dog and what would work best for him. Dr. Herman performed Athena's spaying procedure. I was really nervous leaving her there, but she did great. I was so grateful for the before surgery consultation, the midday update from the desk, and when I picked her up she was a bit sleepy, but perfect. She recovered VERY quickly and really didn't ever seem to experience noticeable discomfort.
I have moved out of the area or I'd still be going here, but if I end up moving closer I will for sure be back.

Pet Sitting & Training

Art of the Dog Canine Academy
1124 S Kalamath St, DenverI can't recommend Art of the Dog enough. I brought my energetic year-old Labrador here, as we'd been struggling with some leash reactivity and learning to settle at home and in public areas. It's been about a week since she's been home after 3 weeks with AOTD and there's been a noticeable difference in her behavior, while still having her goofy fun personality. It was apparent the entire staff truly care about the wellbeing of every dog and want to see them succeed.
I'd been considering a few other programs in the area, but what ultimately sold me on AOTD was having them as a resource for the rest of my pup's life, with no added cost. So if we want any additional 1:1 sessions, or have questions with continuing her training, I can count on them. I'm incredibly grateful for the trainers and staff here.

Bark Busters Home Dog Training Denver SouthEast Region
656 S Jersey St, DenverAdrienne is amazing! We had our first training session today and we saw results immediately. She has a passion for what she does and provides instruction on a very individualized basis after a period of just listening closely to you talk about your dog before proceeding. She has an ability to explain and demonstrate the concepts that make it easy to understand and follow. You practice everything in real time and she makes sure you have it down before the session ends. We never felt rushed. It is truly a remarkable program where humans learn to "speak dog" and understand how to communicate with their cherished pet in order to establish, or re-establish, a leadership role and improve their dog's sense of security and well being. Success hinges on the humans following through with the principles and they are easy to grasp. It may be hard at first to change years of bad human habits but, the end result will justify the work. There is a lifetime guarantee and Adrienne is available every step of the way as long as you are doing your best to do your work at home. We couldn't be more excited to begin this journey with Adrienne.

Ancillary K9 Dog Training
720 S Colorado Blvd Ph N Ste 1357, DenverWe're really happy we went with Dion at Ancillary K9! We loved our adopted really reactive 90lb German Shepherd, but life was getting very difficult because of his behavioral issues. We stopped being able to take him places with us and it was really limiting his (and our) quality of life, and we were always worried about something awful happening. After completing the training with Dion, our dog handles any situation much better, and we're much better equipped to understand his behavior and know what we have to do to help him. Our dog is so much happier as a result, and we're able to take him on adventures that he loves.Dion really cares about you and your dog's success. He had no problem when we needed a few extra classes to complete the training, and encouraged us to reach out even after the course was completed if we had any questions or wanted to attend a refresher course.Parts of the course may be emotionally difficult if you're new to dog training because some aversive methods are part of the course. I used to be opposed to aversive methods too, so if you're on the fence I understand where you're coming from. But ultimately the discomfort from those methods last a brief second in your dog's overall life, and in exchange the boundaries and expectations that were set help him move through life with greater confidence and understanding. He still has all of his adventurous and loving energy, and seems way more relaxed when he's out and about. He probably actually has way more adventurous energy now that he's not tensing up and preparing to lunge whenever he sees a dog, and can focus on enjoying his time with us and new smells and sticks.Dion understood dog behavior and body language better than any trainer we'd ever worked with before, and our relationship with our dog is much deeper than it was before this course.A big thank you to Dion, and if we ever have a friend who is really struggling with a reactive dog, we would definitely recommend Ancillary K9 to them!

Denver Dog Joggers
DenverDDJ is the best! I have been relying on them to run with my pup, Thea, for the last 8 months. I’m a travel nurse, home base is Ohio. I knew coming to Denver, it was a dog friendly city, but I couldn’t have imagined to find the best company to use for my pup. It took a minute to find people that my dog would run with (she seems to have stranger danger), but Brian & Jeremy have been the absolute best. The DDJ was great with working with my stubborn pup haha. All the DDJ team is timely, communicative, friendly, and caring. They employ great people to care for your pup. I knew that she would be in great hands the moment we had our first meet & greet. It put me at ease knowing she was with people who truly cared for her, especially being in a city where I was unfamiliar. Unfortunately, my job is taking me off to somewhere else, so we are leaving the area. I wish we could bottle DDJ up and take them with us because they truly have been a lifesaver. Thea is going to miss her Mondays & Wednesday running sessions with her friends, but we are so grateful to the DDJ team and the memories. Also, I absolutely LOVE that after each session, you are given a pet journal with updates, pictures, and a quick note on how the session went. Thank you DDJ for all you do and loving my pup and treating her with care!

We are now huge fans. We used to love Yak and Yeti, but the quality went down and so we've been on a hunt for a new Indian/Nepalese. This is it. The hunt is over. We love this place, the service, the quality, the ambiance. I'm willing to bet that even though they have several locations, the quality is top notch each time. Lucky Noodles
1201 E Colfax Ave #102, DenverAffordable corner shop at Lafayette and Colfax in Denver. Owner greeted you immediately on entering and have recommendations on the menu that were great. We had the curry puffs - crisp wonton shells with curry potatoes and such inside, served with a bit of sweet chili oil. We loved them. The taste and texture combined to set the stage for an even better meal. We ordered street noodle soup, medium spice, and the kho soy from the secret menu. Soup was wonderful, Medium spicy is spicy- be warned! The Kho soy was rich, savory, and mildly spiced. I had it with the chicken, which was lightly breaded and fried. It was so good I had to write a review!!

Postino 9CO
830 Colorado Blvd, DenverThis is the second location I've tried. This time, I can with a bigger group. We ordered pretty much every bruschetta to try and some other dishes like the meatballs, meat & cheese boards, and desserts. I can say that I did not eat anything I didn't like. My favorite bruschettas were probably the French onion soup one (which I don't even really like onions) and I really liked the artichoke one. I had the apple and Brie one the first time I came and still really enjoyed that. The charcuterie board came with some almonds that were seasoned really well with a little bit of a spicy kick. I had the meatballs - those were juicy and cooked well. We tried all the desserts - my favorite from those was the brownie. It was warm and soft in the middle and it had some ice cream to go with it. Service was also great and accommodating - especially with such a huge group of us.

Combine that with the super friendly staff, delicious chips and salsa with green chile on the side, whole in the wall vibes, and it's an easy 5 stars.

Encanto Cocina & Cantina
2124 Larimer St, DenverI finally met my match, someone with true love and passion for his craft and just as energetic knowledgeable working the tables at a restaurant as I am . Daniel thank you for your outstanding service and hospitality. The food is really good from chilaquiles to carne asada to molcajete and dessert was amazing , food has a lots of poténcial even do is not the focal point at Encanto, we are coming back for the food alone , the drinks have an amazing presentation and blow your mind when served but fall short on delivering amazing flavors , I had the frutos rojos with mezcal which was way too thick needed to be passed through a bar strainer to be lighter and it lacked that smokey mezcal flavor, I had a plain Marg with mezcal and it was a disaster not good at all, we felt the main focus was on their specialty drinks and if you did not ordered them it was just not special enough to put extra love in them .
Ambiance is aim at a club scene loud festive and young crowds , do not plan a quiet dinner , karaoke on thursdays and closing at 1 on fridays and saturdays.
Hopefully this comments will be taken in a positive manner because out of a lot of restaurants this one has amazing potential, I could not give Daniel nothing but a stellar perfomance.
We will see you for brunch !!

MaxFund is a great dog shelter and the employees are extremely caring and loving towards the animals. Thank you so much for our new family member! We love this goofy boy

Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue
2390 S Delaware St, DenverUpdate: The person who used to run the RMFR foster program, Cari Dicke, is now running her own foster Rescue, called Colorado Feline Foster Rescue. I now foster for CFFR because Cari was one of the best things about RMFR, in my opinion. The rest of my review stands. ie, The cats in this no kill sanctuary are loved and taken care of, and even able to roam free in a yard, which is unusual for a shelter.

MaxFund Animal Adoption Center
958 Inca St, DenverWent here to look for a new kitty after mine passed away. I saw one online that looked perfect. When I got there they told me she was shy and therefore was in the shy room. I went to see her, and I would not classify her as shy! She is aggressive. All she did was hiss, growl, and swat at me. I know she was probably scared, so I sat next to her cage for 15 min talking to her, and she would not settle down. I think they need to reclassify her as aggressive and as a needs to be the only cat in a house. I do not think she would do good with others.

Dumb Friends League - Leslie A. Malone Center
2080 S Quebec St, DenverI just adopted this sweet French bulldog puppy earlier this week. We decided to rename her Bagel, since she looks like a poppyseed bagel. ? I am in utter disbelief of my luck, she was an owner surrender. She is an absolute ANGEL. She doesn’t get into things in the house, she doesn’t bark, she doesn’t have accidents and she’s so good with our other dogs. The shelter was very clean when I came in and the counselor I worked with was very kind. I already knew before I got there I was going to go home with this dog so meeting her was just the nail in the coffin. I’m so happy I held out from adopting until I found her and I will definitely look into bringing home more babies from here in the future!

Denver Animal Shelter
1241 W Bayaud Ave, DenverDenver Animal Shelter is an amazing place. 2 and a half years ago I adopted my best friend from them. I was reminded of them because I recently went to check for another cat for my parents. They were so accommodating and asked all the right questions. I went in close to close and they still made an exception and let me meet with a cat. They delicately explained all the information on the cat and made sure I was informed. They truly care about their animals. I am forever grateful they introduced me to my cat I have now. They have adoptions down and give you plenty of time and space to meet with animals.
