Great paint supplies and selection

My GF and I were recently told about this store as we are very active artist and told we would like this place. To be certain it was very well stocked with a wide variety of supplies. What it was not well stocked on was customer service... The regular clerks were ok, by ok I mean they were not rude, outwardly. Hiding behind passive aggressive comments that clearly hide her real judgement... Who took the cake though was the manager, whom we didn't see the entire hour and a half we were there. Until... 10 mins to closing the clerk gives us the 10 min warning, which we heed. My GF starts making her final selection (at this point it's obvious we are about to spend hundreds of dollars) when at about 5 min to closing the manager comes out, in shorts and a T-shirt and says that he is the store manager and that they are closing in 5 min. We say we know and that we are finishing up. He proceeded to stand a few feet from us and just watch us, wordlessly and uncomfortably close. It made us so uncomfortable... He would also make rude comments about us to his coworkers and passive aggressive comments to us... We were neither rude or disrespectful to him, but he was to us to us, not thanking us for coming in or for spending over $300 ... That manager should be fired! A person like that can ruin what should be an excellent establishment.

Victoria was great help with finding any items that I needed and if they didn’t have it all, she showed me other alternatives. I left with the satisfaction of her help and highly recommend.

Ouer thanks to Marilyn and the Guiry's team. We had custom shutters installed about a year ago. We needed to clean the windows, only to find that they are tilt-in and the shutters were installed on the inside of the frame and not the outside - so we couldn't open the windows for cleaning. We called Guiry's and they arranged a replacement at no cost. That kind of concern for the customer is hard to find nowadays!

Just left the store on county line and extremely disappointed in Guiry. Have purchased all our paints from this store for the last 15 years and took in some color swatches for exterior and asked for samples. The young lady must have had a bad start to her day even with the store just opening When I asked for some small samples I was told they are on the shelf. Asked her if she could custom match the samples I had and was told they would be 8oz interior and that’s it. Ok. Came back and told me the forth sample would have to be a quart. I quoted as to why and was told we don’t have the formula for this. Does Guiry no longer custom match? They have over the last 15 yrs. When I told I would take the first three she gruffly slid them across the counter and continued her attitude Guirys should let this one go. She has no customer service in her.

Bad quality paint and experience. First off the floor and design team wasn’t helpful when we were looking at flooring and carpet, but we let that go when it happened a few months ago. Rewind to 4 months ago when we were painting our entire house and bought paint from this location. Ended up costing $70/ gallon even on sale- fine, we needed to paint and figured we’d pay a little more to get high quality and support a local shop. Ended up having about a gallon and a half extra that we stored in a temp controlled area with other paint from Home Depot we had bought prior for a different room. Went today to paint, opened the half gallon we had left that was previously open and it was totally bad- thought, shoot even though it was definitely sealed must have been our bad. Tried to stir it and it was rock hard. Then opened the never before opened gallon and it was also totally bad. Checked our other paint from the same time from Home Depot and that was totally fine. Went back to the store, showed them the paint and they said there was nothing they could do except charge us regular price for a new gallon. You’d think if you’d spent hundreds of dollars on painting your house they might help out when their paint didn’t hold just a few months later, but no. Save yourself and go to Home Depot or Lowe’s. Also DO NOT buy the pink toned paint rollers, they spray everywhere and even with a drop cloth down we still have little specs all over our floors from a few months ago.

Love to shop for my art supplies at Guiry's. I visit two handy locations in the metro Denver area. They have what I need or can order it quickly. The prices are also very competitive and fair.
