It pains me to write this, because I met Jerry personally and liked him. Based on that interaction, I assumed he had good character and would treat issues like this responsibly. I now see some other reviews from folks that had the same experience as me.
However, we had a very nasty surprise this year when we learned that Jerry had accepted payment for two consecutive tax years without actually submitting them. Worse yet, we referred a friend of ours to him and they had the exact same experience. We asked him for a refund OR a way to course-correct (we have paid over $1500 for the two years' returns that he never submitted) and we have been completely ghosted: he hasn't returned an email or phone call since June 2024.
We have filed an official complaint with the IRS and are in a world of hurt because we trusted Jerry. PLEASE do not use this business.

First time using Franklin Tax Service this year and Jerry is a godsend. We filed our Federal, Colorado and Illinois taxes early and already got our refund back even though it’s only early March. Also, Jerry legitimately enjoys talking about tax codes and explained a nuanced provision that’s relevant for our rental properties.

Jerry has helped me handle everything from LLC setup and house sales to standard tax returns. He's always answered every question we have over the phone or via email, and his rates are more reasonable than every large chain I've been to. Would absolutely recommend!

Don't waste your time! I hired Jerry with Franklin Tax Service to help me file my taxes in 2021 because I had a few things to handle in my taxes that I was not familiar with. If you want transparency, don’t use this tax service. He charged me about $500 to file my taxes but then when I asked for an invoice, I was literally told that generating my invoice was too much work for him and the costs of what he charged me are not easily extracted from his system.As a customer, I am extremely disappointed with this response and honestly shocked that he flat out refused to provide me with an invoice. I believe that it is the responsibility of any business to provide a clear and detailed invoice for services rendered, regardless of the amount of work required. His refusal to do so is both unprofessional and unacceptable. I HIGHLY *DO NOT* RECOMMEND THIS TAX SERVICE, something shady seems to be going on if he is flat out refusing to provide an invoice for his services.

I had a terrible experience working with Jerry. He really failed on these fronts:• He made repeated mistakes in preparing my taxes. First, he calculated my Tax liability of over 22k by making mistakes on dates• He missed to take into account donations and other documents I had shared• In the end, when I showed that my TurboTax filing was saving me more money, he was not able to review and correct his work• Above all, he charged me $835 for filing for preparing for two states, and a single W-2 folds higher than my any of previous tax accountants. When asked how does he reach that he said he charges $150 per formGood luck if you are working with him or choosing to do so. I will suggest to doublecheck his work and discussing fees in advance.

I'm not a client of Jerry's but called him with some tax questions related to partial year state residency and related questions. He was very responsive (e-mailed me back on a Sunday) and then patiently answered my questions. Since we were able to resolve the questions on a call, there was no charge :). He was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I will be back when I need additional tax help.

How many people enjoy filing taxes?! It was so refreshing to speak to Jerry from Franklin Tax Service who not only enjoys helping people file taxes, he goes out of his way to offer expert and helpful guidance in navigating very complicated tax laws that no "ordinary" person should be navigating alone. He was patient, thoughtful, and eager to find ways to help me legally and honestly reduce my tax burden, all while requesting a reasonable and fair rate for his services. Jerry and his team are excellent! My husband and I have gone to Franklin the last two tax seasons with a variety of tax situations/docs(1099 contractor, first time home ownership etc), and Jerry makes it super simple for us. It puts our mind at ease that Jerry is up to date with tax law, and knows where we can possibly save money. Would recommend Jerry and his team.
