Love everything about this company! Excellent product, such a joy to ride (I have the Penalosa). Clearly substantial, well-constructed and well-designed. Locally-woman-owned, homegrown vision of a more sustainable transportation future, it feels good to support this ethically-minded company. There was real soul in our transaction, which makes me feel good about going with a quality (rather than budget) bike. My only disappointment is that I didn't order two! Having a bike like this makes it easier to consider a future where maybe I'm not driving my car quite so much. I'm not there, yet, but I can more easily imagine making some changes, now that I'm rocking this great bike! Definitely get the high-security locks, though-- a necessity in Denver's current climate. One of my best 2023 purchases, by far!

BUYER BEWAREOpinions expressed are solely my own and do not express the views or opinions of my employer. In August 2023 we entered a partnership with Fattebikes for large order of 33 Ebikes for employees at my company. Since FatteBikes has now gone to the model of only working with fleets for employers I want to warn potential companies of how horrible this experience has been so they hopefully don't have to endure the same.We have delt with so many issues with this company and still to this day (January 2024) don't have everything delivered that we ordered.1) Delivery Timing: When ordering in August 2023 we were told that our bikes would all be delivered by early November at the latest. After pushing this company for just an update and getting no response they have decided to refund us for a bike and baskets that they didn't deliver (although we still haven't got this either). They had promised us a free bike that we could raffle off to an employee since we bought the fleet but they now refuse to follow through. They won't get us the free bike that was promised even though it was an incentive for ordering a fleet and paying upfront. The company presented themselves as a US made product when in reality they only assemble in the US and have international suppliers who they blame delays on.2) Professionalism: As you can see from the responses on previous comments expressing negative feedback, you will be attacked and gaslighted (you should be happy you're even getting a bike) if you try to tell them you're unhappy. They keep coming back to "all your employees are happy" which isn't the case, employees love the bike but the common consensus is that the customer service is horrible. It seems like they don't know that employees talk to each other and we would just believe everyone is happy.3) Excuses: You will hear every excuse in the book about why you aren't getting your order on time including being shut down for a week for COVID (yet the bikes are over two months late) and shipping delays although the bikes were ordered 6 months ago (plenty of time to find a new vendor as needed). If you choose to move forward with this company get every single thing they tell you in writing and get a written contract with exactly what you are ordering with the delivery dates. Overall though there are other wonderful E-Bike companies in Colorado that will be easier for you to work with. Don't trust your employees and/or company's money with this place.

There is a lot of options when it comes to e bikes so I was a little overwhelmed. When I stopped into FattE-Bikes I knew this was the bike for me. They make it an easy decision with all the info on their bikes, the different models for different lifestyles, and friendliness. I didn’t feel like I was being sold a bike. Just the info I needed to make my decision. And it is a Colorado company. Based in Colorado. Can’t beat it. 100% happy with my choice. Highly recommend.

So glad we looked around to find electric bikes!! we almost went with the cheaper version, but glad we went with someone who can locally service the bike. Big box store seems like a good deal but it’s definitely not built as well! Thanks to Victoria who helped us customize our bikes just the way we envisioned them!!! We all know the rules when something is an important purchase don’t go cheap!!!

My wife and I love our FattE-Bikes. They are so much fun to ride. Recently we brought an older, heavily ridden Penalosa in for a tune-up. They treated us great. The turn-around time was quick. They also gave us some tips on maintaining our other bike. Overall great customer service.

Great customer service response from Kenny. I had a problem with the battery lock (that I caused myself by slamming the battery back into place instead of turning the key) and Kenny called me back immediately and patiently explained what the problem was and ways I could fix it. A week later I was surprised by an unsolicited call from him making sure the bike was working. I’ve gotta say that kind of follow up is extremely rare in my experience. The bikes themselves are great. I commute to work 15 miles daily and my bike has needed only basic tune ups in 6 years.

Classic case of over-promise, under deliver… and taking 0% responsibility.I wanted to give a smaller local place my business, but it’s been a frustrating experience, and at the end I wish I would’ve gone with another company.I can’t believe I didn’t follow the advice that I’ve given many other people…Never pay 100% of a custom project upfront.(And let’s be honest, the only thing actually “custom” about these bikes is the color choice. Anyone can swap out pedals, seats, and mirrors. They are glorified made-to-order, and a tricky way to have a nearly no-return policy).13 weeks after I ordered, and two trips to their shop, I’m finally home with a finished product (I think…). Although my bike was NOT made to listed specs, and powder coating on the forks scratched off on day one. I hope that’s all that’s wrong since I haven’t really gotten to test it!It wasn’t actually ready when I arrived at my pickup appointment (at 9 weeks), so I’ve had it here with a dying loaner battery until they had a new battery for me this morning.Communication—once it existed at all after not hearing anything 7 weeks after I placed my order (my receipt email had given me a 3-6wk estimate), so I reached out—has been a little condensing and untruthful.Instead of addressing how is was not made to listed specs (and finding a solution), they quickly changed the specs on their website and told me that I should’ve known it was incorrect because none of their demo bikes of this model had this part (demo bikes that I have never seen! I ordered this bike from Texas).I had asked more than once what the return policy was, and got no response. I basically demanded the answer this morning on the phone (before making a second trip to their shop to possibly pick up the battery I’d been waiting on), and I was told he “did not have access to that information” but I could read the policy for myself off the website. WHAT?! After I told him that I thought it was crazy to tell a customer basically “look it up yourself b/c I don’t want to tell you,” he still would not answer whether or not I could bring my (still incomplete) bike in for a return. Just sat in silence after saying he could not tell me nor could he get me someone when could tell me.My return option was to wait on another email, maybe by tomorrow, that would “explain the process” of me MAYBE recovering 75% of my purchase price. So, I caved. They win. I’m keeping the bike, it’s totally worth the $2300 and 3 month wait….Now that summer is over….I see that they are moving on to fleet only sales. I can’t imagine relying on them to run my business!

These are the best fat tire e-bikes and it’s not even close. The build quality, the materials, the attention to detail - these should cost 3x what they charge. All the stuff about them being a local family-owned Colorado business, mission-oriented, ecologically conscious - that’s all great. But these bikes stand on their own apart from all that just based on quality alone.

Unfortunately I loved my bike when I first got it however I rode it only 300 miles before my brakes went out and we’re almost completely non-working. When taking it in to get serviced they didn’t even replacing anything, just adjusted my brakes and charged me $50. Somehow this isn’t covered under my warranty which means they are putting such low quality parts on their bikes that they only expect them to last 300 miles before they break or needing serviced.A $1300/3000 bike should NOT need service after such low miles/short time period and definitely shouldn’t be a part of Denvers e-bike Climate Action Reduction Voucher program if it’s going to prove to be such poor quality and need maintenance that often assumedly from cheap parts. I would definitely take your voucher somewhere else.I’ll say that I have had pleasant interactions with the staff and being friendly however I do feel like the go by a don’t ask don’t tell policy with their pricing because when purchasing the bike they didn’t not tell me that it was going to take at minimum 6 months to get it until after I actually bought it and was then stuck with waiting for it. Same thing when getting it serviced. I believed it to be under warranty and then only after they’ve completed it they tell you you owe them $50. Sadly overall I now just feel like they’ve prioritized profits over honest quality.

Please think twice about leaving your bike at Fatte Bikes. My bike was stolen 2x's while in their possession. Obviously they do not have the security to protect their bikes or their customers bikes.

Colorado built E bikes that have some very custom colors. Wonderful customer experience, they are warm and friendly making sure you test ride to know if you will actually enjoy the ride.

We decided we wanted to buy e-bikes for our RV to explore the areas around campsites and places we travel to. We went to all of the local e-bike stores here in Denver and test rode all of the other brands that fit our criteria. We test rode at least 5 or 6 other bikes. Ultimately we chose FattE because we really liked the way the bikes performed and the build felt the most solid and quality of any the bikes we tested. The custom colors were just an additional bonus that we weren't necessarily looking for (but we now love). We also like the fact that we were able to support a local Denver start up. But in the end it was the quality and the way the bikes felt on the road that was the final decision maker for us.We just returned from a month long West Coast RV trip and used the bikes all over. We took multiple 25+ mile trips on some very hilly roads (1500'+ elevation gain) and never ran out of battery. The biles also ride very well on gravel and rocky dirt roads. And when we're ready to hit the road for a new destination the bikes easily fold up and fit securely in the rear storage area under our RV.We really love our Fatte bikes and are very happy with our decision. We plan to ride them all over Denver when we're not traveling with them in the RV! Very happy with the purchase and well worth the wait!

Hard to know where to begin on this "journey" of nearly half a year. Placed order mid-May after given window of 4- 8 weeks. Was told *after* placing order that it will be closer to 8 weeks. SIXTEEN weeks later, friend went to pick it up and grips were wrong, seat was wrong (both are $$ upgrades), even lacking the seat mechanism for folding, which meant I'd have to take the bike apart to fold it or remove the battery to charge. Well, it's almost November now (22 weeks), and I still don't have it. They will whisper sweet nothings in your ear, put you off, not answer when you call, and you will hear the same "It's almost done!" over and over until you go mad. I took 3 trips this summer where I had to rent an ebike, after paying for my own months ago. I am now out of state, and had to pay Fatte shipping to the tune of almost $400, after being quoted $250. For 3 weeks now, I haven't been able to track it, as I found out TWELVE ebikes went missing. Mine was, of course, one of them. Who knows if I will ever see it, but if I can save just one naive person who believes their "our customer service is outstanding" bs, I can be at peace. This bike is- at best- assembled from the same foreign parts all others are made from. It should be fraudulent to say "Made in the USA." Save yourself the splitting headache of dealing with this terribly unethical group.

My wife and I purchased FattE-Bikes to replace our vehicle shortly after relocating to Denver area. While our decision to sell our car and get bikes was in part due to the rising gas prices at the time, we couldn't be happier. Our FattE-Bikes get us to work and school several times a week and serve as our primary mode of transportation. The service that we receive from the staff and owners of FattE-Bikes is unmatched! We recently experienced a flat tire on one of our bikes and we were back up and running within a couple of days! If we have learned anything over the last few months with our bikes, it is: 1) yes, e-bikes can be a practical mode of transportation for some and 2) the only way to e-bike is with FattE-Bikes!!!
