Today, a Saturday, I looked on the Downtown YMCA official website as well as their Google hours and noticed it said they close at 5pm. Much to my delight (since it formerly closed at 3pm) I drove down at 4pm to get a workout in and the door was locked and building dark. The Google hours, as well as the official Downtown YMCA website hours are listed incorrectly. I would’ve just driven to Schlessman if I’d known you have the wrong hours posted in TWO places.

Dylan was incredibly nice, helpful, and accommodating when I first got to theDowntown Denver YMCA. The facilities are nice, especially the basketball court. Solid runs on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

When we decided to cancel and switch gyms, I had to talk to three different people and follow up twice to get the cancellation done. We cancelled because the facility flooded in January 2024 and most of the cardio equipment is still down as of March 2024. To compensate for the gym being closed, they promised to give everyone the month of March for free... then they still charged me because I'm technically registered with a different YMCA location. I understand the technicality, but I had recently moved and was going to the Downtown location for a couple months. The whole cancellation process felt unprofessional and merciless.

Their 2nd floor is always closed no way too do cardio here. Front staff is very pretentious. Understand you hate your life but no one has to be victim too front staff misery.

First the staff here is phenomenal which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1. I’ve been a member here for 2 years. This YMCA has constant closures due to damage from the housing next to it. There looks to be water damage on parts of the ceiling in the basement and on the second floor when it was open (mold). Every few months they’ve had to close for some reason. Fire, flooding, leaking, police shutting down the block, broken AC, and on top of that closed on Sundays and most holidays. You can get memberships cheaper than $35/month like vasa and planet fitness. I chose here cuz it was a couple blocks away from my place. I cannot recommend this place to anyone

DON'T GO HERE IF YOU ARE DISABLED AND SMOKE CANNABIS. The lady who works there Sue is really weird. Same with her worker Anna. They were saying I was "smoking weed in the bathrooms" what an actual joke. The WHOLE BUILDING WOULD REAK OF CANNABIS. My clothes smell because I smoke but that's about it. So these lames get me two strikes. I get told smoke outside which I have always been doing. Just for Sue to cuss me out and ruin my day because I did what they asked. Then there weirdo coked out employee Mendoza wants to get big and mighty for the fact I was smoking outside, threatening me cussing me out. Just not a respectful crew of workers. I have limited flexibility in my legs and ankles and severe arthritis in both ankles so ofc I smoke before and during my workouts. What a joke. Just clown behavior. Never messed with a soul there but I get treated like I'm some crackhead. Also it took me calling a whole different ymca too get HRs email when I was denied on 3 different occasions for their harassment and just very rude about it. Always cussed at when asked. I've been going to the YMCA for 3 years but never an issue till their new hire Anna or Hannah wants to be on some sneaky snitch vibes, following me to the bathrooms. Straight weirdo. But hey there employees can do coke lines in the bathroom ????? place isn't even worthobe star. Shout out to the cutie latina (Noelle)who works the front. She's very nice human. Give her a raise.

I hope your experience is different than mine. I cancelled my membership after I learned you have to pay for parking during every visit. (Only 5 available spots that are always taken). Next, i tried to cancel my membership by speaking with the man at the front desk. He told me there were no forms to fill out and all he needed was my name. Then proceeded to say "now I have a lot of work to do". Just to find out I've been getting charged for the last 4 months on the credit card that I don't use anymore. They won't issue a refund or even provide any sort of reimbursement. Terrible customer service. Decent facilities but terrible service. Find a better way to cancel memberships!

I like the Y but this location really ain't it. Main issue is the dirtiness and lack of vehicle parking. Pros: - Affordable option for two w/ couples membership - Has all the weightlifting equipment you need - Equipment is in good order - Locker rooms recently renovated - Secure bike parking inside by front desk - Access to YMCA locations elsewhere Cons: - No pool or ball courts other than basketball - No TRX equipment - Closed all day on Sundays - No parking, except 7 spots a block away, which fill up - Men's sauna stinks terribly--truly the worst smell - Missing bottles/towels to wipe down equipment - Men's locker room smells bad as well - Sauna temperature doesn't get high enough - Need to get a monthly permit to use the parking spots

They literally ask for proof of residency to sign up to this gym. If you have an out of state drivers license they won’t let you sign up. This is completely ridiculous and pretty laughable at how pathetic this is. I never heard of this before and also if you’re not white they will profile you and automatically assume that you’re “homeless”. Do not sign up for this joke of a gym. Only pansies seem to go here.

WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. When I cancelled my service they charged me several more times. I spent 2 months talking to people at the gym, calling, and emailing to no avail. Couldn't even get through to the lowest level of management. When I finally threatened small claims court several upper management employees magically got in contact with me and my money was returned. Please avoid this place.

Terrible customer service. I called to cancel my membership and I guess whoever I spoke with didn't do what they were supposed to. When I realized I was still being charged, I reached out again to cancel and was expecting a refund. They refused to refund me because they "have no proof" of my call. Besides this, the gym is nothing special and there is no smith machine.

I have been a member for a very long time. The facility has really gone down-hill the last couple years. When equipment breaks (such as the Sauna) it takes a long, long time for anything to get fixed and there is no communciation on progress. Front Desk is not kept informed and when you reach out to management they don't seem to care.

The Y is great. I just cannot walk past 2 blocks of homeless people every time I work out. Starts to wear on mental state
