Pros:
- Location in Cherry Creek is ideal, comfortable, safe, etc.
- Nice design and decor throughout the hotel
- Complimentary tokens for coffee, pastries, and drinks for 2 people daily.
- Yummy food and drinks at the rooftop pool and club restaurant (tastiest burrata I've ever had, and yummy margaritas!)
- Nice restaurant/bar on the ground floor "Kinis". Though not affiliated with the hotel, it is nice to have it on site.
- Super comfortable bed! Amazingly plush and cozy robes in the rooms. Great shower water pressure and temperature. Nice room decor.
Cons:
- Stayed in one of the two higher end suite options (Silver Suite on the top floor) and the views from the room were really disappointing. Just overlooking an alley basically and ugly rooftops. More of a design issue, not the hotels fault. But still made me less of a fan of the room itself.
- Service on the rooftop was slow on Sunday during the lunch hour. Staff took a long time to bring our food though there were few other people dining there. They stood talking amongst themselves at the bar for a while instead of just bringing our food over which I saw sitting under the heat lamp for a while.
- The pool itself is nice to have and better than nothing, but is really quite small and unimpressive. Also the views from the rooftop are pretty dull.
I would give the overall experience 4.5 stars if that were possible.

The Clayton Club boasts the ideals of a boutique hotel with bespoke offerings and the rooms are the only aspect that vaguely lived up to this marketing. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, but that's where the level of service expected in a hotel such as this ended. The pool is cozy to put it nicely and there are not any options to secure a space to sit and enjoy the pool as a guest without paying an extra fee for a pool bed. The fee goes towards a F&B minimum (with an auto generated gratuity in addition to the minimum), however, it's impossible to achieve that minimum because the staff disappears for extended periods of time. I ended up going to the bar to order drinks and was told they couldn't take my order and a server would be by "soon". I had to complete this process not once, but twice in order to place a order. Incorrect items were delivered and then taken away only to delay our order further. Once the food did arrive (45 minutes later) there was no where to place food or drink (there are not tables near the poolside beds) and the staff responded with a level of annoyance when trying to place the items down as if it was our fault that space was limited on the poolside lounge. With the pool lounges stacked directly next to one another, there is not enough space to place a umbrella for shade or swing your legs out to the side to leave the space. The atmosphere did not emulate any level of membership club let alone and bespoke hotel. Unfortunately, The Clayton Hotel is not one I would seek to visit again.

Receiving 2 coffee drink, 2 pastries, and 2 alcohol tokens every day was an unexpected treat. You use these at the second floor members club (open to hotel guests) which has a bar, open balcony overlooking cherry creek, plenty of space, and a coffee and alcohol bar. There is also the 6th floor rooftop pool (with adjacent outdoor bar) as well as their 6th floor bar that had a live DJ and live band Friday and Saturday night during our stay where you can use the alcohol tokens or buy your own drinks (and the 6th floor was busy both nights).
The service was excellent and I had no complaints, the valet parking made travel easy, and the cherry creek area is just such an excellent part of Denver (I now live in Minnesota but previously lived in Denver and always loved the Cherry Creek area). Many top places are walkable (don’t miss the Cherry Cricket burgers), or if you wanted to go to south pearl street or RiNo neighborhoods it is just a short drive.
For my wife and me (and our 8 month old), I can say this was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had and the price was very reasonable. I can’t recommend this hotel and this area of Denver enough. We would stay here again if/when we return to Denver.
Walkability: Cherry Creek neighborhood is such a great part of Denver with a lot of great restaurants within blocks. Drivable to any part of Denver as centrally located. It’s a great location.

This is an anonymous review from a member and it really only applies to the rooftop. The food up here isn't just bad, it's a disaster. Total train wreck, house is on fire, what in the hell is going on here, level awfulness. Please pull it together asap. Send an employee to another members' club with a successful pool scene somewhere out there in the world, bring it back to Denver, mimic what they are doing and hire someone competent enough to pull it off on a day-to-day basis in the kitchen. It's not rocket science to make the 6th floor fun with solid food. It's empty up here on beautiful days and weekend nights because of mismanagement and awful cooking/menu design - not because of a lack of interest from your members.

Just spent a long weekend at the Clayton, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was hospitable and accommodating and the location cannot be beat. Thanks to the Clayton team for such a great experience.

It's okay. Bar food. The drinks are hit or miss. Could use improvement honestly

Service was good here, but I am very annoyed that my credit card was charged over $1,000 on two separate occasions at random times during my stay for “authorization holds”. I understand having to implement a credit card hold of a flat one time fee for incidentals; however, two separate holds for over $1,000 is insane. It’s very frustrating too as the staff was unable to tell me what exactly those “holds” were for. Seems scammy. Also, our room was so small and only had a refrigerator full of items that you have to pay for…..had to shove our leftovers on top of a bunch of drinks just to have space to store cold items. Way overpriced for what you get.
Rooms: For the base room it’s very very small

If you're considering joining Clayton, read on. I'm a current member. My biggest reason for joining was to meet new people. I moved to Denver a little over a year ago and WFH, so meeting new people can be challenging. Unfortunately, this club is not geared towards meaningful connections or events for members to get to know each other. Still determining if it's because they are still new, or need to know what they want to be as a club. The space is beautiful, the member's lounge is nice, and it has a restaurant and bar. So you can work from there, so long as your work isn't being on Zoom calls all day, there is no privacy and you will be distracting to others. But it's a great space for an in-person meeting. There is a patio for summertime, again really nice. Whenever I've worked from there people are not very social, even during happy hours. Most hand out with their crew rather than being welcoming to others. The "member's restaurant" is shared with the hotel. This is a huge downside, as they can't hold exclusive events there like members' dinners or parties. To eat at the restaurant you just make a reservation on OpenTable. This is not social in any way and the food is not all that to really want to eat there. As far as programming goes, they claim to have a lot of events, but again it's quality for me. I would like to see regular member dinners, wine tastings, outings to sporting events, art galleries and more events geared towards meaningful connections and a more mature audience. One thing I didn't like, they won't disclose how many members they have, but in talking to others it seems to be in the thousands. With that much revenue coming in, I expect more events and gatherings focused on different groups and demographics. This place feels more like a coworking lounge with some benefits rather than a social club. I have provided feedback multiple times but have never had anyone follow up about it. This is also very telling about the people running this place.

Don't go here.
The ignorant staff will ban you if you report any illegal vehicles parked in front of this hotel. When the law breaker ends up being some obese woman that works the front desk overnight it's a bad sign.

Perfect location, in the heart of cherry creek. Every restaurant and shops are in walking distance. We even walked to the mall. The 2nd floor breakfast service was top notch. We fell in love with the restaurant staff there. They were so kind, attentive and overall lovely to be around. We had a nice weekend getaway, nice hotel and service. Only con are rooms are small, you walk into the bathroom entering the room which is a peculiar layout. Otherwise good experience.

Awesome comedy show here. On an unrelated note, the bathrooms on the second floor are great!
