Bmo is literally the worst bank. The bank Tellers are so uneducated and have no clue what they are doing. I unfortunately was forced into this pathetic bank when they bought my bank out and it has been a nightmare ever since.

Worst banking experience ever. Use to like BOTW till BMO took over. Terrible for small buisness owners. Always doing maintenance to both on line and phone banking at times when I need access to my buisness account. It's becoming a constant thing. And when my wife closed her accounts they closed my buisness account without asking me or communicating with me. This caused my employees paychecks to not be deposited, before Easter. Some of my employees were needing their checks so they can have Easter with their kids. Seems Easter has been canceled for some. Boo on you BMO...BOOOOO. Any bank has got to be better then this one. Closing all accounts on Monday

I used to be with Bank of the West and had no problems. Suddenly they've been bought out by BMO. First day of the switch to BMO I can't log into my account on line. Then my debit card stopped working. Customer service is in another country somewhere and you have to go through about ten prompts before you can talk to someone. They said they would send me a new debit card. Never did. I am self-employed and deposit checks from clients. BMO holds ALL CHECKS for two business days. No reason to do that. No other bank ever did that to me. It took me several months to get everything switched over to a new bank but finally today I was able to close my BMO account. Am very happy never to have to deal with them again!

Do NOT use this bank. They've misplaced almost $2800 of mine and no one seems to know where it is or why and most importantly how to get it back to me! 5 weeks I've been waiting! Customer service is a joke. Tried to go into the branch, they were clueless.

I have had nothing but issues signing in ever since BMO took over Bank of the West. They constantly have account access issues, and it causes unneeded stress and frustration.

Beware of BMO - they take your money without asking! Who in the world do they think they are? It is our money not BMOs!!! A recap of what took place: Bank of the West converted to BMO. During the scrub of monthly withdrawals to occur on September 1st, BMO noticed our state tax amount did not meet the required minimum. Bank of The West was withholding $62.47 a month for years, however BMO indicated $167.64 was the amount required to be withheld. Ultimately, BMO withheld the $167.64 amount without asking us and we did not get our IRA distribution payment on time. They just took our money and held it for several days. After much research and phone calls it was determined that Colorado does not have an 8% requirement for state withholding. They reversed the tax withholding of $167.64 and instead will be withholding the usual amount of $62.47. BMO screwed up and we paid the price. Needless to say we have since left BMO and would never, ever recommend them for banking needs.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was transferred to BMO when they acquired Bank of the West. I never had issues with Bank of the West. I had been with them for many years. One day I found out I now bank with BMO.... and the headaches started. Every time I login to the website I have to reset my password. This happens multiple times in one day. Everytime I have to call support to re-access my account it takes forever. They are rude and short on the phone. I need to view transactions from a year ago, when Bank of the West was in charge. I cannot. No transaction exist previous to the merger with BMO. I again call support. And they are short and unhelpful. Asking stupid questions that have nothing to do with the issue at hand. I've had so many contentious phone calls its ridiculous. I finally do get through and they tell me they cannot help and I have to drive to the local bank. Run! Run as far away from BMO as you can. Terrible customer experience!

Ever since Bank of the West switched to BMO I have had nothing but a bad experience. I would not recommend this bank to anyone all they do is charge fees and close your accounts without your permission then make it impossible to get ahold of someone who can help. I am beyond frustrated!!

10/31/2023 Experience: BMO IS PREVENTING US FROM REPAIRING OUR ROOF (as it snows). Today was my 4th call after 4 webform submissions were unsuccessful. Today was another 50 minutes on the phone, of which 6 minutes was spent speaking to weakly trained staff. OUR ROOF is LEAKING. The insurance company provided a check to repair it. BMO REFUSES to honor the check. We have REPEATEDLY asked for help. We have REPEATEDLY asked to know WHY the funds are being held from us. After 4 phone calls, numerous transfers, numerous agents, and HOURS on hold, we still cannot access the funds. Today call had 2 goals: a) Tell us WHY they wont deposit our insurance check. b) Tell me if you can cancel the check today so that we can deposit it at a different bank. I asked two different people today, in addition to the prior 3 phone calls, each which came with multiple people to speak to. After the first person transferred me, it was 25 minute on hold to speak to person #2. When person 2 came on the line, they HAD NO IDEA what was happening, so we REPEAT the same content for the THIRTEENTH TIME. After explaining the issue and the 2 simple goals/questions, went back on old for 10 minutes. He came back then left for 12 more minutes. He came back, and left a 3rd time for over 10 minutes. In SUMMARY: 1) We were FORCED to go to BMO 2) From the beginning it has been a TRAINWRECK dealing with BMO staff 3) It has been a TRAIN WRECK dealing with BMO APP, Website, and Technology. BMO's chatbot is the weakest around, completely useless. and when the people are ROUTINELY unhelpful....it points to CHRONIC, SYSTEMATIC ISSUES WITH MANAGEMENT. 4) It has been a complete FARCE interacting with BMO staff. This assessment now based on over 15 interactions with their humans. 5) As a test, we opened an account with a different bank this week and successfuly deposited a check and had the funs become availabel already. With BMO, we have SEVEN accounts, proven identity, proven history, but they refuse to deposit our insurance check without us 1) Visiting a Branch 2) Signing legal documents, which we refuse to do since NO OTHER bank requires this - ALL other banks enable CUSTOMERS to do BANKING *** BMO DOES NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO DEPOSIT CHECKS, HAVE ACCESS TO THOSE FUNDS, PROVIDE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO COMMUNICATE, AND BMO REQUIRES THEIR CUSTOMERS TO VISIT A BRANCH AND SIGN LEGAL PAPERWORK TO COMPLETE DEPOSITS. WE CANNOT REPAIR OUR LEAKY ROOF BECAUE BMO REFUSES TO PROVIDE THE BASELINE STANDARD OF CUSTOEMR SERVICE IN BANKING. BMO REFUSES TO HONOR AN INSURANCE PAYOUT, LESS THAN $10K, FROM A VERY REPUTABLE, NEIGHBORLY, INSURANCE COMPANY PERIOD

OMG but the southglenn branch is a mess. It took them 40 minutes to close a CD out. They could not figure out their own computer system and had to call someone. It is my Saturday and I don't like having to wait. 40 minutes is out of line. Just a bunch of lame excuses as to why they are incompetent. I won't go back ever.

WORST BANK EVER!!! They take FOREVERRRRR to make a deposits. Like seriously Ive never waited that long at any other bank to do this. Plan on waiting a long time.
