Lee is so helpful! Our dealership was going to charge me nearly $5,000 for a repair on my car. We took it here for a second opinion and it ended up just needing a simple reset. I wouldn’t trust anyone else.

To say that I'm demanding and picky when it comes to care car would be a massive understatement. I have professional and amateur mechanics in my circle and I have family members that win Pebble Beach with classic car restorations. My background is in racing but I'm definitely not good with a wrench. In short, I have just enough information and experience to make me dangerous and a serious pain in the you-know-what for mechanics :) With all the said, I can't applaud the service I received from these guys enough. I spoke with Lee and Will from the front office more times than they'd like and each time my questions and requests were acknowledged with clear, honest answers and professionalism. I was introduced to Alex who ended up doing the work and he was just as courteous and helpful as the other guys. Initially, AAMCO Denver received my car for major transmission work because they were close. However, if I wasn't comfortable with how I was being treated at any time during the process, I wouldn't have hesitated have my car picked up and towed someplace else. My car is running flawlessly and I really appreciated the fact that they scheduled a follow-up visit 10 days after the repairs were completed and my car was picked up. I thought that was a classy move and it let me know these guys were going to stand behind the work they had done. Thanks, guys! I couldn't be more pleased.

After being told 3 different things by 3 different mechanics, I was advised by a friend to have a transmission expert take a look at my car issue. They inspected my car for free and actually recommended less work than the mechanics had. They were able to get it fixed in a day, and when I got worried a few weeks later that the transmission was making a weird sound, they did a second inspection again for free. Excellent treatment after a long and stressful situation.

Bait & Switch!!! During my initial conversation with Will, who claimed to be a manager, he provided an estimate, stating that the total bill would hover around "$5,000, perhaps a bit more if extensive part replacements were necessary, although usually only a portion of the components needs replacement." This figure was consistent with another quote I had received from a different establishment. I took note of this verbal quote, and my decision to choose Aamco was influenced by the prospect of additional support from their various U.S. locations, which I found beneficial given my frequent travels. Will then sent a text message, indicating that a $495 disassembly fee would be charged, which would be credited toward the final bill. Two days later, Will called me and delivered a staggering blow, stating, "I'm sorry, Brother, but the total is now $7,900." While I had anticipated a reasonable increase in pricing (perhaps in the range of $500 to $800 at most), a $2,900 or 58% surge from his original estimate was so far beyond reasonable that it shattered any trust I had in both this individual and the business as a whole.Regrettably, I decided to look into their reviews, only to discover that this was not the first instance where they had drawn in people in need of service, disassembled their transmissions, and then substantially inflated the rates. This blatant bait-and-switch tactic is truly disappointing.I relayed to Will that, due to the complete breakdown of trust, I could not proceed with the service at their establishment. When I walked in and explained how far off the quoted price was from what Will had originally told me over the phone, I respectfully requested that they consider splitting the $495 fee with me, as it would be both appreciated and appropriate given the circumstances. At this point, Will acknowledged his error and directed Veronica to proceed with a 50% discount. However, Veronica responded by stating that she was unable to make that decision and that they would need to consult with the boss. This is when I had the displeasure of meeting the manager/owner of this location, "Gouping Li," who goes by "Li." Upon learning that I would be taking my business elsewhere, Mr. Li's demeanor took a notably negative and impolite turn. I recounted the entire situation for him in an attempt to make him understand, and to my shock, he actually uttered, "DON'T TRUST MY QUOTES." As you can imagine, my expression probably displayed a mix of confusion and disappointment. In response, Li looked at me and brazenly stated, "Don't look at me like that."I ultimately resigned myself to the fact that I would be paying the full $495 price and just wanted to distance myself from this deeply unpleasant individual and retrieve my truck. Given some financial difficulties, I had resorted to using $25 gift cards earned through credit card points, which I had initially intended for Christmas gifts. However, I withdrew these cards to cover the bill. This decision seemed to further enrage Li, and he spitefully commented, "what goes around comes around," before storming off to the garage, uttering curses.I can't be certain of what he may have communicated to the shop personnel, and I sincerely hope he did not tamper with my truck in any way. I uncomfortably made the payment, $25 at a time, and had my truck towed to the establishment with the highest Yelp review, seeking a more reliable and trustworthy provider.AAMCO, I understand that repair costs may fluctuate, but it is disheartening to see a business bearing your name on the building resort to repeated underquoting at such a large ratio and exhibit such extreme unprofessionalism.Service: Transmission

Can't remember the mangers name, but he's 100. Rest of the staff I spoke with were genuine and helpful, felt good to be in an honorable shop. I'd take my rides there for all my issues if I could.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! They wanna charge you triple and mess up your car. The first time upon meeting them the was unsettling and when they heard I had a Porsche all of there eyes lit up. So it took him a whole week to tell me what he thinks Is going on. He wanted to take down transmission for 500$ to see what’s wrong with it! Gotta remember once they take it off your stuck with them and they can say whatever and charge you more. Didn’t give me estimate price just said when I take transmission apart I’ll tell you a price red flag ?. I got my car towed to wizard transmission they are great. They replaced transmission gasket because of a little leak and they changed my battery and powertrain module for all under 500$ Back up and running. AAMCO is a living nightmare they need to be reported to BBB association. And like lee said”You have Porsche so that means you have racks “. This is not the place should be called SCAAMCO. Honestly I don’t think they know what they’re doing from all the reviews. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE TOUCH OR GET YOUR CAR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

On our road trip from Texas to Denver, we noticed some hesitation in our Jeep. We thought it might have been bad gas. Once in town it began to act strange at stop signs and red lights with a prompt to put into park before shifting gears. We took it to another Denver service center for diagnostics (charged $159 for this). We were told the Jeep needed a new transmission, which was shocking considering car only has about 45k miles. We decided to get a second opinion. Lee at Aamco was confident from the start (and a visual inspection confirmed it) that Jeep’s transmission was fine. He drove the car 20 minutes, used all his diagnostic tools, and also had another tech look at it. The only problem was the anti-lock brake needed reset! Yes, this can cause what appears to be transmission issues! Cost to fix: $0!!! The other place was ready to take $4.5k-$7k from us for a problem that didn’t exist! Lee does not even charge a diagnostic fee. He knew we had to make it back to Texas and asked that we let him know we did. The car had no more problems after Lee’s simple fix which he tackled in an extremely knowledgeable, methodical and caring manner. I would not hesitate in taking any car to him! Thanks again, Lee!Service: Transmission

I was in town for my sisters wedding. My transmission started slipping on my way out. I got to town and had a different shop quote me for a repair… I called AAMCO based on a referral from a friend, they told me they’d give me a quote and could match the other shop. But after checking the issue, they charged me more that $2000 more than the first shop. The reason for me writing this is since this repair, I’ve had to have the transmission AND torque converter replaced again…to my understanding, this shop did not touch my torque converter. I would not recommend this location. But there are other AAMCO stores near Denver that since this issue have been more helpful.Service: Transmission

Favorite local mechanic in Denver. Always great to check here first for any advice about your car before getting work done. Even if they can’t take of it here, they’ll get you an informed recommendation. Trustworthy!
