Would not recommend taking your animals here if they’re having a serious health crisis. They will mistake your animal for someone else’s and give them unwarranted rabies vax (even though the cat is already vaxxed), & will 100% do the bare minimum to, AND I QUOTE, “save his life - we saved his life!” And then, when the problem isn’t actually fixed & the cat has to come back with THE SAME PROBLEM, they will suggest surgery & they say that is the only thing to do. But when you tell them you can’t afford that then they say “you can euthanize him if that’s what you want to do.” Then, when you take your animal to a new vet in Montrose & that vet (who was unbelievably kind and flat out honest) will tell you your animal wouldn’t have even survived a surgery & you’ll have to spend the money to put them down anyway. So unless you’re wanting to go $1500 into debt & not come home with your animal (ever again) anyway, I would never recommend going here. Poor explanations, poor staff, and a “I want the most money I can get out of these people” type of doctor.

I typically refrain from writing reviews unless I believe it is essential for the community to be aware of an establishment that has provided outstanding service. Mesa Vet has not only delivered exceptional care but also came to our aid when my 12-year-old Yorkie was gravely ill, and we felt lost after consulting with other veterinarians. I will not name the other practices, but they were insistent on upfront payment for services, and during a recent visit, the veterinarian expressed uncertainty about the next steps for my dog. On two occasions, I was advised that my dog should be euthanized, but I refused and sought appropriate care elsewhere. The local veterinarians seem overwhelmed and often treat clients as mere sources of revenue. Nevertheless, I decided to take another chance and made an urgent care appointment at Mesa Vet, which required a $99 deposit that would be applied to my dog's treatment. I scheduled the appointment as my dog's condition was deteriorating. Upon arrival at the clinic, I found the facility to be clean, and the receptionist was courteous, attentive, and efficient. While waiting for the veterinarian, I understood that they had numerous patients, and I was unconcerned about the wait time. The veterinary assistant promptly introduced herself to us and Bella, gathering all the information I was eager to share. Shortly thereafter, the doctor entered and took the time to thoroughly review the information I provided regarding my dog's history. He examined the X-rays I had brought and identified issues that I had also noticed but had not received feedback on from other veterinarians. He spent approximately 30 minutes with us, gathering all relevant information about her past and potential issues, and developed a treatment plan. We returned an hour later to find that he had performed some essential procedures, considered my dog's current condition, provided food to address her nutrient deficiencies, and sent the X-rays to a radiologist for a comprehensive analysis. Upon my return, I found that she was already up and walking, appearing nearly back to her normal self. I had previously questioned the prognosis provided by the former veterinary practice, as their reasoning did not align with my understanding. I was deeply frustrated by the actions taken on her behalf, yet I refrained from voicing my concerns, recognizing my lack of medical expertise. However, the veterinarian at Mesa Vet addressed the very issues I had been contemplating. I sensed that there had been a critical oversight in the previous analysis, and this doctor promptly acknowledged those concerns. We engaged in a productive dialogue, and I appreciated that he never made me feel rushed, as if I were the sole focus of his attention. I now have a clear treatment plan and additional insights into her condition. Although she is not yet fully recovered, I feel optimistic about her progress and believe we are finally uncovering the underlying causes of her recurring symptoms. The previous clinic had suggested I bring her back for intermittent check-ups between surgeries, which was disheartening. I felt that if I was paying a premium for care, my pet deserved undivided attention without the need to prioritize other animals during surgical procedures. This was both unfair and disappointing. It seemed as though they were willing to accept my payment while offering minimal assistance. In contrast, my experience at Mesa Vet has been exceptional. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking a reliable veterinary clinic with trustworthy doctors and outstanding customer service. Thank you, Mesa Vet Hospital; your team is truly remarkable!

I was an established patient with the Grand Mesa Vetrinary Hospital until my dog during the work day week and during office hours dislocated his hip and was in need of emergency care. Unfortunately the Grand Mesa Vetrinary Hospital wouldn’t see him- too busy and wanted me to take my dog clear to GJ for treatment. I get that veterinarians are busy, and over worked but when you have an emergency with a pet even if you have to wait in the waiting room until the last scheduled patient leaves it would be nice to be able to see your vet. As it turned out , I found a vet who put my dogs hip back in and who took us as a patient when I called not making me wait a week - took X-rays of hips and back , gave me instructions of leash time, pain meds and etc. That simple act of compassion for an animal who was in pain was priceless. I only wish that the Grand Mesa Vetrinary practice would be that kind and accessible in times of emergencies. And seeing this vet did not break the bank and my dog got excellent care.

I have a dog wearing this clinics rabies tag. They couldn’t find it. I got the owners name from the shelter he was adopted. They found him in the system. But refused to tell me if they had a different number for him and if they would call. I didn’t want the number but wanted them to reach out and let him know I have his dog. They were very rude and unhelpful!

I made an appointment with Dr. Natalie because my dog has developed a serious health issue. I am really worried about him.
The receptionist and the vet tech were warm and kind, but Dr. Natalie was cold, rushed, and seemingly irritated that I had questions about my dog's health. The main reason I scheduled an appointment was so I could sit down with an expert and try to understand what was happening to my dog. She hardly even looked at him, and gave me short one or two word answers and was out the door. Dr. Natalie was terrible and I would never go back. Save yourself and your pets and go somewhere else.

Called March 20th with a sick calf, not eating or drinking, very latherigic, gal had to chat with vet, called back March 22nd and told us we could come in the 26th, almost a week of not eating or drinking and sick. Thank God for friends with meds. Since they changed the rules on places selling meds for folks to give their cattle we have to rely on our friends and neighbors. Such a horrible situation.

Don't bring your pets here. Natalie O'Regan is a 'TURN & BURN' veterinarian. Spent a significant amount of money for an examination re. our dog not eating. 10 days later we wound up with an emergency surgery at Grand Valley Emergency Vet Clinic with the removal of a tumor the size of a grapefruit. A thorough exam by O'Regan would have caught this. Our dog was examined in a back room. Brought back without an explanation except she needed a dental with no elaboration as to the extent of dental work needed. O'Regan had spent a total of 5 minutes with us and left no room or time to ask more questions. Don't really think she cares. The level of care and service we have gotten from Grand Valley Emergency and Surface Creek Veterinary are what we expect. This clinic does not even come close. Just saying...

The staff are fantastic, but the vet doesn't seem overly concerned about the animals getting their prescriptions in a timely manner. I've had to make multiple calls as well as stopping by for over 2 weeks trying to get a written prescription. And I'm still waiting. I understand being very busy, but if she wants an animal on medication, there has to be a better way.
