“Oh my, this place is DELICIOUS! I stopped in and got myself an elk NY Strip, a couple of elk jerky sticks, hickory smoked season salt and some goat milk fudge. I seasoned the elk steak liberally with the Hickory seasoning, salt and then butter-basted it to medium rare. Elk is pretty lean so it needs some fat while it’s cooking. I served it with some roasted brussels sprouts and an ice cold beer. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had, I probably could have cut it with a fork. The goat milk fudge wasn’t my favorite. It was pretty grainy and overly soft, but the flavor was good. The elk meat sticks were a great snack and my dog loves the antler chews.”
