My husband and I went on this tour today, our guide was Patrick. We had a great time! The mine shaft elevator is pretty tight quarters but really neat. We loved all of the demonstrations of the actual old mining equipment and learned a lot. Patrick was a lot of fun and great with the kids on the tour. We got to see a lot of informational items as well as some cool mineral formations. Would absolutely recommend.

We were Very Excited to visit this Mine. The Elevator ride down was dark & small but, we made it. The tour was well done. It took about an hour with easy walking. The mine has excellent displays. The Tour Guy was (I think) Tim?? He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Gold mine. Kind of "Dry Humor" but, he was funny. He didn't go on to the next part of the mine, until all questions were answered. He even took everyone's Photo at the end of the tour. Then back up a short & dark 2 Minute ride to the top. If You get a chance & in the area, take this Tour. You will not be disappointed. I wish I could give it 10 Stars.

My wife and I visited Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine to take the tour while on vacation. Mark was our guide and did an excellent job of recreating the feeling of what it was like when it was a working gold mine. He was very knowledgeable and spoke clearly and made sure all of our questions were answered. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this tour.

What an adventure! The Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine tour was an unforgettable experience, taking us 1000 feet underground into the heart of Colorado’s gold mining history. Our guide was fantastic—informative, funny, and super kind. He made the whole tour even better, and he even snuck us some extra gold ore along with the free pieces you get to pick from at the end! ?
The tour itself was fascinating. You vertically descend 100 stories into the mine, ride an underground tram, and get to see gold veins in their natural state. The mining equipment demonstrations were really cool, and it gave us a great appreciation for what the miners went through back in the day. Plus, it’s only a short and easy walk underground.
After the mines, I highly recommend heading into Cripple Creek town—the food there is so good, and there are tons of cute stores to shop around. It’s the perfect way to round out the day!
If you’re in Cripple Creek, you have to do this tour. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to dive into Colorado’s rich mining history—plus, who doesn’t love free gold ore?!

Great tour! So glad we did it! Our tour guide Mark”? was great! He seemed genuinely excited about the history of the mine and was easy to listen to. I was hesitant about the elevator ride down after reading other reviews, but it wasn’t too bad. Tight as sardines if you are claustrophobic you should know that. Also, the ride down & back up is about 95% dark and the elevator rattles & rocks slightly. But worth the trip down/up. Very educational and the hour went by quickly.

Our tour guide was awesome. The ride down in the cage was fast and *cozy* ???♀️ lived the experience and enjoyed the commentary. Gift shop : office was lots of fun where I purchased some fun rocks to take home. We were all given a piece of ore from the mine to take home. THAR’S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS Y’ALL. We got there early… opens at 9, first tour is 9:30.

Honestly I didnt go on tour so I’m giving 3 stars because the staff was nice & im sure the tour is really cool. we showed up before it got packed, however we were told the wait would be 45 minutes, waited an hour and a half before asking if we were next, then was told there was still a group before us & they were super behind. So we’d be waiting 2 hours for it which is insane when we were told 45 minutes :/ we were starving and tired of waiting & weren’t trying to wait even longer so we just took the L. just sucks that we couldn’t get a refund.

Super fun adventure with my teens. Educational and our tour guide Michael was engaging and funny. They crammed six people into a tiny elevator so if your claustrophobic, probably pass. A lot of the crystals in the gift shop were dyed, so avoid those for a more reputable rock shop and there are plenty in co springs to choose from. All in all I highly recommend the Mollie mine

I went there for exactly 4 years from the time I posted this review. The tour started of with taking a elevator down to about 300m depth and then we got to walk around in a gold mine and the guide explained everything about how the mine worked and how the workers used to live. Also, we got to ride a carriage and at the end we got a little souvenir crystal. I had a very nice visit and would highly recommend to visit the mine.

This was an absolutely outstanding tour of the mines. Not only do you get to see mines, but you get to see equipment used, and a demonstration. Also, our tour guide, Mark, was extremely great at the tour. He was making some jokes while going through the tour and just causing some laughs while explaining each part of the mines in great detail and expertise. And on top of the mines experience back at the gift shop, no pun intended, the staff were excellent, understanding, and kind. And bathrooms are very nice and clean. To any staff that see this, I appreciate your kindness and respect. Also, I suggest bringing a jacket, as it's a nice 50° F in the mines, or be like my crazy Texan mind and not even bring a jacket to Colorado! Best experience we have had in our 3 days of being in Colorado! Went on 6/7/2024 at near 1:30 and the tour began at 2:00.

Do not miss. Great experience
The elevator is great. Like the train. The tools really give an idea of the working conditions of the poor people underneath.
Very reasonable price for this visit

My family and I did the gold mine tour and we all had such an amazing time here. The elevator going down into the mine was a little bit cramped, but it was quite neat to experience just how the miners from back in the day actually experienced this first hand. Our tour guide was absolutely awesome and had a great deal of knowledge. The prices were more than reasonable for the fun experience.
