Super experience with trainer Tim. This is our second dog with Sunrise and would definitely recommend them. We’ve done both the dog bootcamp and the private sessions. We’ve had both a timid dog and one aggressive dog, and Sunrise has fixed all of our issues. Amazing transformation and happy dogs. Thank you

We brought our dog for a trial stay and she came out soaked. The employee said "sorry she got wet" as if she had played outside and got water on her. She was soaked in urine. Her entire lower body legs and chest were soaked. We're willing to pay a private sitter double the rate to protect our dog. Bad first impression. UPDATE!!! The owner replies every time a bad review is done in a manner that blames the owners and not themselves.....Sadie passed the prelim visit per your staff. Now suddenly Sadie is a problem?! You neglected her while she was there and somehow it's everyone else's fault....PLEASE READ ALL THE NEGATIVES BEFORE YOU BOARD HERE!

This place came through for us on short notice when we needed to board our 2 dogs because there were really only 2 requirements for new dogs: current vaccinations and 1 trial visit. I’ll start by saying I’m very appreciative for that. I’m also appreciative of them accommodating our dogs’ dietary needs, and giving them a complimentary bath before we picked them up. I also like that they were able to stay together the entire time, and that the pricing is really reasonable.However, I’ve had some issues since picking them up. First, when I arrived and the dogs were brought to me it seemed like both of them had been waiting to go to the bathroom for quite some time because they both tried to bolt out onto the pavement and go. The lady who brought them out seemed to know this, and directed one of my dogs to poop right there in the parking lot, which we have always discouraged (grass only). The other ended up peeing a few feet away, also on the pavement. Second, one of my dogs now seems to have kennel cough, which she’s never gotten. I saw another reviewer mention that their dog got it after going here and didn’t think it’d be so likely to happen to my dogs but after a 2 and a half day stay she’s coughing pretty consistently.We’ve boarded our dogs in places that seemed much more organized (clear signage, confirmation emails), more transparent about where the dogs stayed (walkthrough for pet parents before taking the dogs, cameras so you can check in on them when you’re away), and more generous towards pet parents (not charging extra to send pics of the dogs). And as mentioned previously, our dogs have never come home with kennel cough from being boarded in other places. The people who work here are friendly but maybe kennel boarding just isn’t for us

First, I want to say that until this morning, this place was fabulous. This morning, however, I encountered a woman in the phone who was rude and tried to gaslight me into thinking that I never had the original appointment time that I definitely had. I originally called the beginning of August to set a grooming date for my puppy. The first opening Denise (best Groomer) had was September 30. I took it. About 2 weeks before my scheduled date, my mom said that she was unable to get her puppy into see Denise until 4 November, and that she really wanted to get him in sooner because he had mats in his fur. I offered to switch my grooming date for her grooming date to help her out. So, I called Sunrise Kennels- and spoke to a woman on the phone and explained the situation. The woman switched out the dates and confirmed the dates and names. I thanked her and told my mother. This morning, 30 September, my mother took her puppy into Sunrise kennels, and was told she did not have a scheduled time for today. They checked under my name, and saw nothing. Denise kindly went ahead and took my mothers puppy, anyway. I called and spoke to the same woman on the phone. She said I never had the schedule date for 30 September. I explained to her that I called and switched everything and whoever I spoke to made the switch. She claims there is "no white out" on the document, therefore, I never had the date. When I said "OK fine I know that we did have these dates. That's the only reason we were able to switch the dates and I gave you, and spelled my mothers name, but it's fine- I know I made the change. Someone just dropped the ball on this." She said "well you don't have to be rude to me". I said "I'm not the one being rude. I'm explaining how this happened". She got very nasty with me so I hung up on her. Denise at Sunrise Kennels is fantastic, the people they have answering the phone are awful. They don't know how to do their job properly, and when they get called out on it, they become gas lighters and rude. Go to this place at your own risk. UPDATE: I accidentally told the receptionist that t mothers date was due November 4, when, in fact it was for November 14. The fact that she said she was "looking at the card right now, and I have always had November 4" tells me she is a liar, or that she really did screw up when I called to change dates. Also, when I called y mom to tell her about this interaction, she says that girl was rude to her too. Some people should not work in customer service.

Staff is Kind and patient. I know our dogs can often times be a handful but they always come back smelling great and all smiles. We board all three of our fur children here. Have never been disappointed!

Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review due to the condition of my two dogs after staying here. I love supporting small business and dog boarding places when they are good to my animals but this was not the case this time. My dogs have been boarded in three other facilities across the state and in Illinois as well with little to no issues. My dogs are so sick and have been sick since I picked them up this Tuesday. The person working said “we didn’t even have to use the anxiety meds provided…” that was a HUGE mistake because my dogs are so stressed they are bleeding and haven’t had solid stool once. Luckily I have finally gotten them into a vet appt tomorrow and expect to hear that they have parasites at this point. PLEASE use the anxiety medicine when provided we know our dogs better than anyone else ever will. Edited: we did bring salmon, pumpkin syrup for our dogs food topper because we were told to bring something that would make them eat. It’s sold at Petco as a food topper and they love pumpkin and salmon which happen to be great for sensitive stomachs. Also thank you for putting personal info out there notice how I didn’t use any of my info and you as a business exposed it? Thank you for stating you knew he was already a nervous dog on his test day, I guess if it’s in your notes you would have paid more attention during his stay to see if he should be given more at any point due to your previous experience with him. And the letter from the vet was in the bag with all their vaccinations which you would think you’d ask/look for when given prescriptions at drop off.

We brought our female corgi here for the first time today and they did an AMAZING job!! she came back to us happy, fluffy, soft, and smelling so good!!! and you can't beat the price!!! it's a bargain anyway, but it would be worth every penny for how great their work is.

Great, friendly place for both of our older, but still vibrant bird dogs. The staff was excellent and the owner took the time to explain a few offerings for us. I will def bring them back. The dogs even looked excited and were tuckered out even we picked em up.

I have been coming here for 2 years and never have an issue. We use the grooming, have boarded our girl, and have done training with them. The take really good care of Jo and the grooming is always great.

Nope. Just don't. These folks are heartless. They don't let your dogs out. They don't actually care for the dogs, they spend most of the time on the phone taking customers that never end up booking due to inconsiderate staff. I promise you want to ignore the good price and save your time. Also, they do lie. Just a heads up. Save your time and money. By the way, Sunset and Woodmen kennels work together, don't attend either. They are not Pitbull friendly. You're welcome.
