This is not much a review but more so a response to Karen R who gave Merrill Lynch at this location a 1 star rating. First of all, if Karen actually had a relationship with Merrill Lynch, she would have had her own dedicated Advisor at this location who would take care of the IRA distribution for her. All she would need to do is sign a distribution form or get on the phone with a Client Associate (the Advisor's assistant) for a verbal recording and she would get her distribution check within a week. The fact that Karen had to contact a general customer service number for this request and got different answers everytime was clear indication that she must have had an account at Merrill Edge which is an entirely different division than Merrill Lynch. The Advisors at Merrill Lynch work with a specific group of their own clients and only have access to their own clients' accounts so if a random client called in to request service, these Advisors would have no way to accommodate. Long story short, it's unfair to call out an entire company if Karen R. couldn't even tell where her money is at.

Had a long term IRA with them. Had money in. Trying to take the money out (as entitled to by law). Initially, placed an online request - since the web site indicated it was possible. Got a call over a week later telling me that it had to be done by phone. Contacted the office. Waiting on hold for over 20 minutes to speak with a human. Was assured that "everything was taken care of". Promised that the check would be issued in 4 days. Well, a week later, get a call that nothing has been done. Now feeling like Merrill Lynch is holding my IRA funds hostage. Again, it was not done. I do not know how to get my money from Merrill lynch. DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH MERRILL
