My husband and I have been prefering to shop at this store for the last ten years. In the last five years, the service, cleanliness and selection has gone down hill.
The turning point was when they took out the conveyor belts that allowsthe cashier to empty the cart. It was like a switch turned and the staff felt like they didn't have to provide ANY service.
It got even worse when Colorado dictated that we bring our own bags. Now we don't even get a bagger and we have to bag our own at the full service cahsiers. At peak times there is NEVER enough cahsiers. They don't even have all the self serve stations open. I inquired about this and was told they don't have enough staff and they just lost four cahsiers.
A manager was supposed to call me back when I asked to speak to someone and they NEVER called back.
We used to interact with the staff and truly enjoy going to the store. Now it is a chore. And the staff rarely even smile.
It is clear that you are not treating your staff well and until you look to yourselves this staffing problem will not be solved.

I don’t know how this store has 4 stars! This is hands down the worst Soopers in the city! I have been giving it ANOTHER chance for years but today was the last straw.

I have come here for years. I didn't exactly appreciate being treated like a criminal because I tried to buy wine at 7:30am when I thought it was fine.

More and more, this KS just assumes you're a thief and goes from there. But they are too greedy to hire more cashiers so now the self checkout lanes spy on you and report anything "suspicious". Naturally, there are false positives all over the place. KS thinks it's acceptable to make us wait in line to check ourselves out and wait even longer to get some person to tell the machine you're not a thief. Going elsewhere, not that many places are much better at this point.

I have been a resident of Colorado Springs for my whole life and have been coming to this location since it opened. Living in the area it was of great convenience for me and my family. My husband and I like to BBQ, so we often visit the meat department. All of the employees there are always very helpful, especially our favorite friend who always graciously helps us when we go there, even knowing our names. The other day our favorite clerk was crying. I asked what was wrong and come to find out, that the manager, I think that I over heard from a different employee addressing him, his name is Ronnie or Ronald? Who I believe is head of the department, is threatening their job. This person lives alone and has special health needs and cannot afford to lose the job. They were crying because they were afraid to come into work on account of the treatment and fear of being fired by this terrible person. I use to work in retail when I was younger and know what its like to be treated like this. It is not fair or right that someone as helpful and kind as our friend, is being subjected and forced to endure this horrible and abusive treatment. I'll still go there occasionally to see my friend, but in all, this store will see allot less of my business and my family and I, as we are seeking alternate Kings Soopers or even entirely different grocery store chains, where they treat their employees like human beings with feelings.

Jeanette called the cops on petitioners and harassed them. The store gave her too much power and she needs to be demoted immediately! I said I was leaving because the cops tackled me a year ago resulting in me losing a baby and she was being snarky and smirking at me. ?♀️ seriously demote her or I will be calling HR and the higher ups! She’s lucky I didn’t call the cops for harassing me. That is terrible! I hope she doesn’t have kids either.

Pay your employees and open check out lines. You already over charge for groceries, stop making us do your job ourselves and *pay your employees*. No one wants to wait behind 20 people to check themselves out for overpriced goods after working all day.

Terribly rude staff with no customer service skills...not even social skills...the older staff are worse than the younger. I have never experienced such terrible incompetency in my life. They have made multiple mistakes and always blame others, or broken computers, or whoever they can point the finger at. I have never experienced this anywhere else.
