We saw the Elf show there. The production was great. The building was nice. The auditorium could use a slight update.

I love the variety of art here!! You can see art recently made by college students or art from centuries ago. I especially loved the exhibit involving art made from recycled gun parts, designed by LGBTQ+ youth. Really makes you feel something. We had gone to see Elf the Musical & had plenty of time to explore the museum (for free!!) beforehand. We had front row seats which don't sound ideal but you still get a pretty good view of the show that way. The musical was amazing & it was such a surprise to find out the lead was originally an understudy, making their Buddy debut. Everything flowed so seamlessly that you would never know it's ever been different.

The pre-dinner was a little disappointing we arrived on time for our meal there was a delay for 30 minutes. It was nice that we were the only ones attending but they couldn’t find a lighter for the food warmers to warm the food to temperature we had to stop eating our food because of this situation we paid 26 dollars each for our meals and did not get to complete the meal there was barely any staff to wait us that evening on December 9th at 3:30pm! The musical ELF was delightful and we enjoyed the play!

Went for a Day of the Dead celebration and was impressed with the facility. I was surprised to see a mini Chiulay exhibit.

The Colorado Springs fine arts center is a gem. And, that is why I gave it 5 stars. BUT the "gentleman " at the WELCOMING DESK WAS EXTREMELY UNWELCOMLING! Yes, ALL CAPS are irritating, just like the guy at the welcome desk. Come on dude, it was Paula Poundstone, not Death of a Salesman. Please CSFAC - leave that desk vacant, than sit that rude, nasty man there to "welcome" us!

So sad & depressing. I hadn't been here in years and was excited to take my kids. I had memories of it being full of beautiful art & enthusiastic art lovers. However now it's mostly empty except for a few galleries that rival a high school art show & a handful of confused patrons who are unlikely ever to return.

This was my first time going to the fine arts center since I moved here to the Springs in 1982. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful, but I think a place like this was meant for more artistic people. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed looking at all the art, but the special exhibit when the asian woman crumpled up paper and stared at the aidience to me was just something I personally did not enjoy. I am sure there was a completely different meaning behind her artistic expression but from what I saw left me just feeling more sad and confused. Not something I personally wanted to feel... The people there were friendly and a few had their noses a liitle too high but overall this place was okay, just maybe not for someone like me.

Saw 'Footloose The Musical'. Loads of fun and the staff are amazing. They made sure that everyone got to take their seats before the show began including after intermission!

We come down from Denver for a visit every 3 or 4 months. Love the Southwestern art exhibit. You won't find a larger array of Spanish Colonial art, including 200 year old retablos and statues anywhere else in the West - unless you're in Santa Fe. There are always a number of rotating exhibits that are well done.

This museum had its high point in the early 1990s when it had a lot of interesting exhibits. The present day exhibits are in comparison maybe 15% overall. Worse, the lighting is so poor in the Southwest Collection that it's hard to see the subjects of paintings. Maybe that's why none of the the visitors I saw on April 23 (2023) barely look at any of the paintings. Just turn the light up some !! I wished I had brought a flashlight. Having visited the museum a lot in the late 80s and all through the 90s I came away really disappointed and don't plan to go back during future visits to the Springs, .

I enjoyed the art exhibits a lot. but the staff was not very pleasant at all. We walked in, I had asked for information on a specific exhibit I chose to write a school paper about, and they didn’t have any supplementary info which was fine but the desk staff was also a little dismissive about all of my questions. I thought nothing of it.I do want to preface this next bit with, I am newer to the fine art world and this was only my second time ever in a fine art center. We walked over to the theater area. I thought maybe it was another exhibit area, or live exhibit or something. I saw no signs, nothing that indicated anyplace I should not go or enter. I saw no signs indicating what was even going on in there. There was an employee on her computer at a table next to the television, and when my friend went to crack open a door to see, she proceeded to reem us out forcefully saying, “you cannot go in there, it’s a live paid show that you just disrupted” made it seem like we were absolutely in the wrong, when it was just an honest mistake. I proceeded to apologize, and she carried on about how disruptive we were and chastised us for probably about 30 seconds, even though I was just trying to walk away because she made me VERY uncomfortable. When, we just didn’t know. She told us “I am sitting here, to keep people from disrupting the show” even though just a couple minutes before, she was in a completely other room with us. She really wasn’t doing a great job if that’s what she was trying to do. She had plenty of time to say something before we even cracked opened the door. It was a teaching opportunity to tell us how its works at their facility, and instead the employee chastised us and made us feel really guilty, and left a super bad taste about the whole experience, which is very unfortunate.
