Awesome experience! We've gone through the puppy class and obedience 1 having had both Dawn and Robin as our trainers. They are both great, very positive and personable and the class sizes are just right. Not sure why anyone would give negative reviews. We were very happy with the training that we received!

Highly recommend working with Dawn! She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. My dog is reactive to dogs on walks and I was very impressed by his first private lesson. There was a drastic change in his behavior right away. He was very responsive to Dawn and she gave us many tips on what to work on/ look for.

Not sure where the bad reviews came from but that was not my experience at all. Robin was great. I have taken puppy classes where they have you yanking on your dog's collar through the whole class, I always found that disturbing. Robin's class was 100% positive reinforcement and we saw improvement on every dog in the class. We had 5 dogs in the class which was very manageable. Robin was encouraging to those that had dogs that listened well and those needed a little more work. I would HIGHLY recommend taking classes here.

Return Customer!
We have put two puppies through Robin's Super Puppy Class and Obedience Level 1. The socializing of a puppy is hugely important in their development and has a impact that will last throughout the dog's life. Robin is expert at carefully navigating that Puppy Socialization in her classes. She pays close attention to the small subtleties that most of us would miss. Her training techniques and tips are very effective and help build confidence in puppies. Don't just let your puppy play with other dogs at a dog park, etc. (big mistake in my opinion), let Robin help your puppy become properly socialized and build confidence. Robin has our highest recommendation!

We took the puppy class and just finished Practical Obedience 1! Robin does a great job making dog obedience practical & approachable for those of us who really want well behaved dogs but have no idea how to get there. She’s warm and engaging and our class was a lot of fun- we all cheered each other and each other’s dogs on, it was fun to see not only my dog’s progress but also the other dogs that I saw weekly! Charley loved Robin!

I have attended both group classes and done in home training with Robin Brown. I highly recommend Robin and look forward to taking additional classes. Both you and your dog will have a great time!
The in home training focused on preparing for Sadie's first visit with houseguests and meeting our grandchildren. Thanks to our two sessions, Sadie's behavior was stellar and she exceeded our expectations.

Laura was amazing!!! My 1 year old american bull mix, Karley and I just completed Good Family Dog Training obedience class II this week and have nothing but good things to say about our experience. We were referred from a family friend who spoke highly of Laura so we decided after adopting in December to start obedience class I in Jan. Before I even started class I reached out to Laura about my concern of going to class because Karley seemed to act out around other dogs and since she was new to us I wanted to make sure the class would be a good fit for her. Without hesitation Laura set up a time before the first class to observe my dog around 3 other dogs and after that assured me she would do great in class and she was absolutely right, Karley did wonderful!
If you spend much time talking with Laura or listening to her teach class you will find out she has tons of experience and is super knowledgeable about dogs. Laura was always willing to answer questions that came up during class and always available after class to chat one on one with anyone that needed to. As for Laura's personality I must share that I never felt she was angry or unhappy at class. I always thought she was very low-key and calm for having so many untrained dogs in one place!! Many times during class Laura would take the time to point out how happy she was with something the class participants had just done and she was always quick to remind everyone how awesome it was to see our dogs progress from one class to the next. I'm not a dog trainer but from what I have seen in my last two classes being overly excited around a group of untrained dogs can lead to total chaos, so I think her low key personality is for a purpose. Both classes I took had 6-8 dogs each training session. The number seemed just right for the space and having a group of dogs that size was nice because it allowed for a bit of distraction while training... which made for a more realistic setting when applying what we were practicing or learning.
Without any hesitation I would highly recommend Laura and Good Family Dog Training if you are looking for someone who knows about training dogs in a positive way that allows each one of them to be successful!

My dog loves going to Laura's classes. The puppy classes are really fun! The obedience classes have really helped my dog develop into a great member of our family. In the group classes, I have observed Laura's skill in adapting different training exercises to the personality and skill level of individual dogs. I'm looking forward to the next level of training with Good Family Dog.

Laura Brody is a professional, in every way. I have six dogs and all of them have been through her puppy and practical obedience classes. One has done agility three times because he loves it so much. We have a Lab we rescued as a puppy and noticed at 4 months, she was not like any other lab we have ever raised. She suffers from severe anxiety and fear aggression with both people and dogs. Had it not been for Laura, we would have put this girl down. It took two practical obedience sessions, but by the end of the second session, with Laura's knowledge and my perseverance, we were able to complete the class. We learned her triggers and to anticipate before she reacts. We never set her up to fail. All points learned from Laura. She is seven years old now and we love her for the dog she is. She is a boss at her commands and is a great dog in our home, even welcoming other friend's dogs when they come to visit. You will never have to worry about seeing her at your favorite dog park!
I have had two of my dogs complete Laura's puppy class and go on to Practical Obedience. We continued to achieve our AKC Canine Good Citizen Award through Laura. Both dogs are rated as Complex which is the highest rating with Denver Pet Partners. Rare that a dog that is two years old, can pass the evaluation, much less be rated as Complex. I owe that all to Laura for her support and training skills. Both dogs are certified READ dogs as well!
I highly recommend Laura and Good Family Dog to everyone I meet. She is a true advocate for the dog. Yes, she will let you know if you are doing something wrong. Since I am the one responsible for my dogs when I leave the training facility, I relish her advise and it has never failed me! I am proud of my dogs' behavior and people are always complimenting me on their training and demeanor. Isn't this what great training is all about?

The trainer needs to have a better attitude in training her class. It takes more than just knowledge to make a dog training class enjoyable. I felt classes were too big as well, so I dropped out.

Laura is an amazing trainer! Both of my dogs went through puppy class (critical for socialization) and obedience training. My older dog loves the lure chasing dates available each month - great exercise! Laura's methods are solid - building on a positive, respectful relationship between owner and dog. She is very intuitive when it comes to different, sometimes difficult behaviors and how to address them, again reinforcing the positive. A great sense of humor and true desire to see the dogs (and their humans) be successful. There were many times in class she told all of us how proud she was of the work we had done with our pups between classes and the progress we had made. I highly recommend Laura and Good Family Dog if you are looking for a positive, supportive experienced trainer.

I have taken multiple class from Laura and highly recommend her and the Victoria Stilwell method. I enjoy her sense of humor and the way she explains how different dog breeds will react differently. My dogs love going to class and they love saying Hi to Laura.

The owner/trainer is unfriendly, bordering on depressed and/or angry, unless you seem to have a prior relationship with her. While the training seems adequate, the whole class experience with this trainer was very negative.
