VERY disappointed!!!!! If you want people to buy from your store then TELL CUSTOMERS WHEN YOUR SHOP IS CLOSED!!!!!!!!! I saw an employee in the store when i came in and he didn't even bother to tell me that you were closed? I WAS WAITING AT THE CHECK OUT STATION FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!! next time PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR STAFF ACTUALLY CHANGE THE OPEN SIGN TO CLOSED! AND TELL CUSTOMERS WHEN YOUR CLOSED!!! very disappointed with this happening and please do not let it happen again!?

The quality, selection, and prices here are astounding. I have basically stopped shopping anywhere else because I can get more intriguing and considerably cheaper items here. There are base/essential clothes that are great for daily use, and there are also gorgeous, stunning evening gowns and crazy decade wear. I cannot express how much I love this store and the charming volunteers who cultivate the experience.

I find the best stuff at this store. New release books for 50 cents, kitchen gadgets, $100 shoes for $5, golf clubs, arts & crafts, kids toys, they have it all! The best part is they use the profits to fund camp scholarships for the working class kids of Carbondale. This store has been going strong for 30+ years, I hope it never closes!

Actually, I used to shop in the Near New when my baby was a year old in 1972!! And I know it was going before I got there! Great thrift shop, they funded a saturday ski program for the local kids with bus, lessons and free skiing for very very cheap ($10 per kid for the whole season!) back when my kids were little. My kids learned how to ski because of them! and their prices are great!!

This is truly a non-profit thrift store. All employees are volunteers and all the money earned goes back into the community. They have a program where you can check out handicap/rehab items (with a deposit) and get a full refund when the item is returned. That program saved my bacon when I needed to get a walker, shower stool and other handicap items for a friend returning from hip surgery. It is cramped, but everyone is super friendly and the prices are dirt cheap.

Looks grungy but we always find at least one thing to buy. It's usually not "near new" but useful or fanciful. Friendly staff.

I am really impressed with this organization. They run this store by volunteers and never take a penny. All of the income they collect goes to community and international projects. I heard they provided a grant for an African city for clean water. I went their yesterday to pick up some baby clothing and I got an entire bag of clothing for under 20.00. It was way worth my time to drop in an check out the store. I will be back. Since it is a thrift store, things do move fast and everything was like a dollar or two.
