This has been a great experience I have rented a unit since 2021
the staff here have been fantastic. the units are clean well maintained and secure. I have not a problem with any mice or bugs in the units i have rent here. I highly recommend GREAT WESTERN STORAGE to everyone needing a unit.

Went to help my brother move stuff out of his storage unit today and found hundreds if not thousands of dollars in damage from the mice that have invested these units and destroyed half of his belongings.. DO NOT rent a unit from this place and if you have a unit here I would highly consider moving your belongings to another facility!!!

Contrary to initial unit appearance and storage layout, Great Western Storage has flawed construction. Individual units have partition walls that do not connect with the backs of each unit. This leaves spaces open between units which eases rodent migration. As of the fall of 2023, Great Western Storage in Canon City has a significant rodent issue, and transparent communication regarding this event did not occur. The value add of this partnership is a nice-looking facility; however, there needed to be an attempt to make this right. They went through the steps of getting a professional exterminator, but this did not remedy the damage 10-15 mice did to property in at least one unit. Through 30 days' notice, which is required in their contract, they didn't respond which is a response, and there was no attempt to discount or even apologize. Customer service here was poor regarding this issue. I would not recommend storing your things here, they lack transparency in their communication and make no attempt to do the right thing.

My wife and I are moving and the closing on our new house is on the same day as the closing on our house we are moving out of. Juggling furniture is no easy task. We have been working with Shelli who has been so helpful and professional during this transition. The prices are reasonable and property is clean and secure. I would recommend Great Western to anyone looking for a central area in Canon City.
