These guys are bored, not helpful, and didn't even look at me and my family when we walked in to check out the shop...I asked them a few questions, and absolutely would not recommend this shop for anything..and I hate making reviews, but this shop sucks

Idk how this place has so many negative reviews, seems like maybe ownership changed hands? Every time I've stopped in, every single worker has been more than helpful. I am such a novice biker, and these guys have shown me fixes before without charging me, they've serviced my road and mountain bikes, and most recently showed me which pedal and cleat combinations would work, as well as showing me better shoes that I will be returning for when I am a little more seasoned. I really appreciate the knowledge sharing, lack of upsell pressure, and just helping people like me get on the road easier and more proficiently with something they're very passionate about.

Saw their deals online and wanted to check out the bikes in person before I purchased one. They didn’t have them in the store so they shipped both bikes and built them up for me to test out, no commitment. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful as this was my first bike purchase. Not only great deals, but great customer service as well. Really awesome staff if you take time to talk with them and let them know what you are looking for in a bike

The gentleman who greeted me was very nice and the price to fix the tire I brought in was $22 where Trek used to be golden bear bikes charged me $30 last time and I had to go back later in the day to pick it up. Planet cyclery had it done in 2 minutes.

I went in to get my cranks inspected due to the Shimano recall, and it were extremely pleasant and professional. At no time did I feel pressure for sales nor did I feel like they talked down to me which is an unfortunate occurrence at many LBS's these guys know their stuff and they're good people to boot

I've made a few online purchases and interacted with customer service at least once. They were very helpful instructing me on what parts I'd need to rebuild my 8 year old 2x10 fat bike. Shipping has always been very prompt. I go here first when shopping for parts.

I wish I read the reviews before buying the group set, what a waste of time. After spending over $800 for a “new” sram group-set, the brake arrived defective, it was leaking DOT all over. I tried contacting the customer service, his name is Greg I believe, and the only thing Planet Cyclery can do for me is to sell a new brake for $250… that’s even more than what it costs online. If you want to be in the game of the online sales you need to play by the rules. Stand behind your product!! Will make sure to start a charge back.

Was quoted 2.5x the initial discussed amount to fix my bike after recovering it from being stolen. When I picked up my bike (after passing on service due to the crazy quote) there were more issues than when I left it. Brake line got loosened, one grip was loosened and other adjusted, one shifter was loosened, seat was heightened, and brakes were moved to a different position. Almost felt malicious/intentional.

This is a great local bike shop! Sean installed an ABUS frame lock on my new bike. This was a bit more than your standard install because the frame came with no mounting points. Sean was able to use rivnuts to mount the lock to the bike, something that requires a specialized tool and the knowledge of how to use it. He also solved a problem that I created when I clumsily stripped the threads in the frame while trying to install a rear rack. He fixed this with a tap and installed the rack. I'm very happy with the service. Planet Cyclery is a pretty cool bike shop to visit. Has a nice 'neighborhood' vibe and tons of top end bikes and gear.

Item purchased here on Amazon Received the chain guide Opened the item to install on the my MTB The item DID NOT fit properly Contacted the seller via Amazon to return the item or ask for store credit I was in fact issued a return label (see screenshot) The item WAS NEVER USED btw The seller - Planet Cyclery - contacted me the day after the label was issued saying "We cannot accept the return" "Hello, Once it is installed we cannot accept a return on it. We have to be able to re sell the item. If its been opened and installed we cannot re sell that item. Thanks Planet Cyclery" I went back and forth with this seller - asking for store credit- they did nothing. On the chain guide- it claims it accepts exchanges or returns (see screenshot). The chain guide DID NOT FIT PROPERLY, it was clearly an issue with the item. When you purchase online - anything - you have to try it on, see it fits correctly, etc. If it is defected/does not work, you typically can exchange it, return it OR get store credit. The Wolf tooth did not fit correctly, I simply requested a refund or store credit- they would do neither but claim return and refunds . You have to unpackaged something to see if it properly fits and planet cyclery cares more about themselves than what is right. - BUYER BEWARE.

This review speaks only to in-store maintenance service. Moises has helped me out twice and got me riding clean for a very reasonable price and identified issues that went unseen with a maintenance purchase of over $100 at another local shop. Stand-up shop here.
