On January 11, I made a reservation at the Avis located in Broomfield, Colorado. I was scheduled to pick up my rental at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27. When Saturday arrived, I scheduled an uber to take me to Avis, but when I plugged the address into google maps…I was stunned to see the location closed at 12:00 PM. I assumed this was a mistake, figuring the Avis website would not have allowed me to set a 12:00 PM pick up time if the location closed at 12:00 PM. So I called the main Avis customer service line and was informed that that location was set to close at 12:00 PM and that it was not an error. At no point during the reservation process was I informed that I had chosen a time outside of operating hours. Google maps had me arriving at 12:05 PM, and so I decided to call it a loss and simply pick the car up the following day.The next morning, I arrived at Avis around 10:30 AM. When I entered, a short, gaunt, bald man rose from a chair. When I got to the desk I started to explain what had happened the day before, but was rudely interrupted by the man who just yelled, “NAME!” I told him my name. He said I wasn't in the system for that day. I then proceeded to explain that I was supposed to pick up the car yesterday but this location was apparently closed for the time I scheduled for my pickup. In the most condescending voice ever, the little man said “Ma’am, the past was yesterday” before starting in on me and how I should have arrived earlier. He pushed me to make a new reservation, but I was hesitant because I didn't want to be charged twice! After hitting me with 30 more seconds of verbal abuse, I just walked out. If that was how I was going to be treated right off the bat, there was NO way I was going to give them my business.After this terrible experience, I went online to see if other people had a negative experience. I was stunned to see how many people complained about the short, bald, mean man. It was absurd. I have NEVER experienced this type of treatment from any business anywhere in the world. Avis…why are you keeping this troll on staff?

Been here twice, both times worked out great. This is a small shop in a mini-mall. Tim is competent and friendly. He was working by himself both times I visited, yet still made it a smooth process. It’s a convenient location, good deals.

Tim has gone above and beyond for me on numerous occasions. This last rental, he put me into a vehicle that created a 10/10 experience for me and my son on our one week Colorado journey. Much gratitude to him and to Avis.

Do not rent from this place. The short, bald guy with the attitude (only guy working there) was the worst. I don’t have time to list the numerous reasons why I had the worst rental car experience of my 53 yr life.

Update: I continue to be impressed by this location. It's incredibly well run, they're easy to work with, and they make renting a car for vacations or work trips hassle free. I appreciate that the owner prioritizes customer needs and works hard to meet my needs.The staff at this place is great--friendly, efficient, and helpful. Thank you for a great rental experience!

Rude manager, worst customer service I’ve ever received from a “business”. Could not recommend this place in good faith. Look at any of the reviews in the last year, none of them were exaggerated.

When I showed up at the strip mall location there was no one there. Door locked and note stating they would be back in 30 minutes. Once he finally showed up he only had one vehicle, a Rav 4, my reservation was for a Camry (or similar). A Rav 4 is not similar! 8 1/2 hour drive in a bouncy SUV was not on my to do list.

RACIAL PROFILING! FromThe minute my husband and in-laws whoAre from Honduras walked in they were met with hesitation! Sales repREFUSED to rent them a car because their driver’s license and credit card are from Honduras?! Have you ever heard something like that from a rental place?! Isn’t their whole thing renting cars to VISITORS!!?! My in-laws who are elderly! Are so hurt by the way they were treated! Would give 0 if possible!Do not waste your time! Take your business elsewhere!

My husband and I have been loyal customers for over 2 years. We travel a lot for work so we are often getting rentals like 3-4 times a month. This place was by far the worst place. The guy who helped out my husband was rude and kept asking my husband if he was sure he wanted the large SUV because he had cheaper options ……. My husband then toldHim to please look up his account so the dude could see we always rent the nicer cars. He then said oops we actually gave your car away but we have something that is nicer which was a total lie. The car we were given was not even clean it was filled with the last drivers dog hair everywhere and weird stains on the door and drool stains on the window. It’s almost like they half cleaned it and rushed it out to us. This location is the reason why we decided to leave AVIS . Great job guys

My review is for this location, not Avis overall. We got a bit of a lemon from the Denver Airport, and I tried to contact Avis corporate. I was on hold seemingly forever and they confirmed I could exchange the car here (about 40 minutes from the airport). I called this AM and I reached a gentleman that said he could help as long as a car came in when scheduled, but please call to confirm. I tried calling this afternoon, but all calls went to the Avis 800 number, and honestly, they were a little frustrating to deal with. I decided to just drive to the location, and the man I spoke with this morning was there. He remembered me, and was very friendly and helpful, taking care of the exchange in minutes. As expected, his phone was ringing and he couldn't answer so those calls were going back to the toll free number. Hiring is very difficult now, so I understand he was doing everything he could. I'd give 5 stars to the employee for his efforts and 3 stars to Avis -- that's how I landed on a 4.

The guy who works at this branch is kind of a j**** I was all set to pay $700 to rent a car but the process was taking a bit longer than expected and he made some rude comment about how he was closing in 15 mins, while throwing his hands up in the air. I canceled my reservation and walked out. He also made an assumption that I have a husband because I am female, and my wife didn't care for that too much.The guy who washes cars and was sort of helping out was super nice and funny, but the main guy is not. We took our business elsewhere- rented a car down the street- gave another budget branch our money.
