Been seen a lot of negativity reviews recently and I can say I have not had any such issues. I come from a very large family that is constipé buying groceries and often have 1-2 full carts and a cashier always checks us out. The products are also always up to standard. They even had Spanish speaking employees to help my grandmother.

This store has gone downhill in customer service.
Recently went through self-check out and was treated like I was a criminal.
As I was scanning, many incorrect prices kept coming up for an erroneous total to pay amount. Supervisor helped, but with an attitude like she was disgusted having to help for my free Blue Bunny ice cream. Then was told digital coupons are reflected/taken at the end. (Customer doesn't care about your system limitation issues).
When I placed the 2 russet potatoes on scale it would have put the total very near my budgeted amount so I laid them to the right side as I needed other produce first. When I placed the tomatoes on the scale clerk promptly picked up potatoes & placed on scale stating I have not paid for them.(at this point I was not finished & ready to pay-nothing had been paid yet). I said I may not want them if total is over & laid to side to see total. She explained laying on left of scale is same as paid for & she would be questioned what is she doing & this is why I said digital coupons are taken at end(why should a customer track digital vs reward vs deal for u discounts & know when discount is going to be taken-ridiculous! I want to see correct total as it comes up not at the end. Your processes are outdated methodologies). Safeway Customer Service values now sees their customers as a criminal before they even finish & pay. Sad it is no longer a friendly, welcoming environment. Also, noticed no one was there to check out anyone who may have large cart full of groceries forcing them to self-checkout. You have down graded/disregarded your customers, but I haven't lowered my standards & will seek those with better service.

This last visit was the second time recently that I was forced to go through self-checkout. I usually buy $150-200 worth of groceries. I expect to have a checker there that I can make small talk with and scan my groceries for me. Maybe that's just not a thing anymore.

I love Safeway. Even worked there.However I went in today with my kids and mother. Needed to is the restroom. It was locked and I waited patiently for about 5 minutes. By then a mother and her two daughters come up and the baby needs to use the bathroom.We wait a few more minutes and no one comes out. So I let the mom know I've been waiting for about 5 minutes and when they're done she and the kids could go before me.She asked her daughter if she could hold it till they got home. And the daughter agreed.Waited a few minutes more and I knocked again. A employee opened the door and very rudely answered "What?!" When he saw me he looked at me and said "Oh bathroom is closed I'm cleaning it." And slammed the door on me.No sign. No nothing. I had no idea someone was cleaning the bathroom. I thought it was in use. I had to go to the bathroom so bad I used the men's bathroom.If there was a sign or if he politely said "I'm so sorry I'm cleaning the bathroom right now. I'll be done in x amount of time. Sorry about that." Or something along those lines I would of understood.But the fact he was rude about it, like I was inconveniencing him, and slammed the door in my face was unacceptable. I've never had issues with employees at Safeway. And I've never met someone so entitled.Personally that experience alone makes me want to shop elsewhere. Like is he like that to everyone he meets?

I had the best service and experience from the Lady at the Florist dept this past Saturday 01-06-24. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. I normally go to an actual Florist shop for Flowers but that day it was closed at noon, so I decided to go to Safeway to look at Flowers and I was very impressed on the customer service. I will be returning for future flower arrangements.

Terrible store and customer service. They use bait and switch tactics with their sale items. There's no meat counter...you have to beg for cuts. Go the Kingsoopers or Natural Grocers.
