They have a $195.00 diagnostic fee that they do not tell you about when scheduling an appointment. This fee does *not* go towards repairs; it is a stand alone fee.
I took an hour off work to drive to this place just to cancel my appointment. I suggest calling around - there's another GMC dealer in Commerce city, and the non-dealer locations "nearby" are less than half that for a diagnostic fee.
I'm guessing the business model is to get the person to drive to Kansas, spring this surprise fee on them, and then hope they're too tired and have sunk too much time into the process of traveling to their location to reject their nonsense.
There are three service centers on this complex - plan to drive aimlessly around this monstrosity to all three to find out where your appointment is, getting redirected multiple times.
Arrive to the correct service center on your third attempt to be instructed to park your vehicle in the most perfect of spots so the service tech doesn't have to stand up. I'd imagine if it were that big of a deal, they could move the car during the check-in process.
Additionally, they will demand your address multiple times. Why? Are they going to mail you a postcard when your car is ready for pickup? No. They are going to mail you endless amounts of junk mail. Just give them a fake address.

Since leasing my GMC Sierra from Johnson there have been three open recalls that had part shortages. Understandable that it is not in their control how long the parts take. Fast forward 18 months later and 10 plus calls to service department with 6 of those calls just being blatantly lied to and even on the last to calls that the parts have come in and to schedule an appointment. Scheduled appointment for weeks in advance because it was all they had available. Even called on Friday to make sure if I arrange to drop off the truck on Sunday night that the parts are still available and ready for my appointment. All lies, went through all that trouble dropping the truck off and taking a $50 uber back to my house. No parts - only had a path detection that I already told them I didn't even care about and no heated seats or heated steering wheel like I just verified on the last two calls were available. Lied to back to back to back for months - they have no issue lying right to your face.

I gave the dealership 5 stars before because they were helpful in buying a new vehicle. I take that back. After buying the vehicle, I had a couple of questions about the Infotainment system after the free trial had ended. I contacted Katey my sales person and Rich her boss after not hearing back from Katey.Neither ever responded at all and I emailed them each a couple of times. Obviously, once your check cashes they don't give one dam about you. I find that hugely disappointing and rude. I don't deserve this disrespect and I won't accept it. There are surely better dealers out there than these people. I do not recommend buying or servicing your vehicle here, they don't deserve your money and you don't need to have to worry about dealing with people like this.

Their service is terrible. Their service department is unreliable. I'm not sure if the mechanics don't know what they're doing or if Johnson's is just trying to rip you off we took our Cadillac in for air conditioning service and they quoted us $3300 and we messed with Johnson for almost 4 weeks with wrong parts for our repairs and so we took it to a Cadillac dealer And it was $900 and it was fixed in one day. This isn't the first time we had bad service but this will definitely be our last time. save yourself some heartache. and wrong information. Don't go to Johnson's auto Plaza.

I purchased a GM Certified Yukon Denali from this dealership, had it shipped to California only to drive 3 miles and have it break down. It needed a new engine, how could it have been certified? I contacted sales manager initially letting him know the vehicle broke down and he apologized, once I told him it needed a new engine I never heard back. On top of that I owe an extra $1,600 to DMV along with needing to get it smogged. I would prefer this be a no star review and would never recommend this dealership. This has been the worst vehicle purchase of my life.

I had the best experience with Johnson auto plaza as a whole and especially with Katey G. She was very helpful and just gave me the details straight up. I have never had a dealership look so hard into finding me rebates to save me money. She looked more even after I signed the initial agreement and she saved me even more money. I was in and out very quick with a brand new truck. I also asked them if they could program some cargo lights that I had put in myself and the service department was very helpful and did them no question. Highly recommend this place and It will definitely be my first choice to look for trucks again.

They have the worst customer service when it comes to the service department. Since the first time I took my car in for oil change to now twice for service, not once have they called to give me an update about my car and both times of course no loaner cars, so here I am again no comm and no car, had to find a ride home from work because no one can communicate over there and they don't give a crap if you have a car or not.

Great service. Because of Nick Kropelnicki, I will probably buy my next vehicle from Johnson Auto Plaza. He has been working with me the entire time Ive owned my Jeep and is very professional. I tell friends and family that JOP is the place where you can buy a great vehicle and fantastic service department. Thanks for being a solid dealership.

A little over a month ago I brought my truck in to be looked at due to a loud pop and some rattling from the front drivers side. I left the truck on a Thursday and was told they'd look at it as soon as they could get it in. The following Tuesday I received an email addressing a number of issues to be serviced or fixed as well as the diagnostics of what I initially took the truck in for, which turned out to be a quick $300 repair. After looking over the additional issues they outlined, I noticed they said I needed new breaks all around. Along with some other small details I felt could be addressed at a later date considering they had my truck now for nearly a week I only authorized the quick $300 repair I originally took my truck in for. Fast forward a week and a half later, when I got a dash notification for service to my break assist. Not wanting to drive all the way to Johnson's, I took my truck over to breaks plus down the street from my home. They took my truck in immediately and after having it less than an hour I was told that the issue was due to a recall from Chevy. They provided paperwork for me to give to the dealership to show exactly what needed to be done. I told breaks plus that Johnson's, just two weeks ago said that the truck was in need of new breaks to which they responded, nonsense, your breaks are good for at least another year, although there was some abnormal wear in the front which was likely a result of this recall issue.I have to admit I was a bit furious that after being told less than two weeks before this I was trying to be sold new breaks around the truck without anyone pointing out a recall issue with the break assist. I explained to the gentleman what I was told by breaks plus in addition to venting my frustration that they hadn't addressed the recall to which I was told that the truck had already been serviced for the recall in December of 2019 at 52,000 miles. The funny thing is, I purchased the truck in July of 2019 at 66,000 miles and had not taken it in to a dealership until 2020. So I was either being gaslighted or their system had completely wrong info on my truck. Eventually, I reluctantly left my truck at Johnson's (around 10 am) for them to address the issue of break assist recall. I hadn't heard from them all day until I called them at around 2:30 -2:45 to see if they had gotten a chance to look at it. The service agent said that it was a pump that was covered under Chevy's recall and was fixed at no cost. Despite the great news that I wouldn't have to pay for the repairs I still remain perplexed that this was not addressed when I initially brought the truck in a week and a half prior, and that their "system," reflected that my truck has been serviced by an unknown dealership in the months after I purchased it without me knowing. I really liked Johnson's and never had an issue until they tried to charge me for new breaks without first resolving a recall issue on a bill that would have cost me over $3000 according to their estimates. I will now be taking my truck elsewhere.
