I initially went there to focus on my work, but unexpectedly found myself at an open mic event. It completely lifted my spirits; the atmosphere was vibrant and engaging. Not to mention, the coffee and desserts they offered were exceptional. If you're looking for a lively weekend option, this is a top choice. However, if you prefer a quieter environment to focus on your own tasks, this still would be the ideal place.

Absolutely the best place to work or study. I love the covered patio area and how quiet it is here.

Old-school hippy boulder meets new-school yuppy coffee / tea house. Still one of my favorite places to go for coffee in Boulder, and either just hang out, work, or meet someone. Think neighborhood coffee shop before starbucks or a pub where you go to meet friends and relax, not get drunk. These types of places are too few in number now. Unfortunately, everyone else thinks so too so tables can be tricky to snag, esp on cooler days.

Trident Bookstore and Cafe is a legit treasure of Boulder. I went in during a snowstorm around 8:30am and it was PACKED. It seemed like all the locals came in to warm up and get out of the house. The bookstore is really cool and has great books to choose from. I walked over to the cafe and ordered a Cafe Florentine. It was a little bizarre that they served it to me in a glass, but maybe they were out of mugs? I would love to visit this place in the summer because they have a large indoor/outdoor space that would be fun to work in. Interior space has beautiful classic brick, a cozy fireplace and creaky wooden floors. It's timeless. I've read a few things about the staff that weren't so nice, but I had a good experience and would recommend this place to a friend!

Got coffee and browsed books. Rather small place, you will finish browsing before finishing your coffee. Book selection not as diverse, but the coffee is pretty good. Recommend getting your coffee to go.

Great bookstore. Lots of alternative stuff and vinyl records and cafe attached AND A venue out the back. I caught a recent open mic night there with music and poetry I enjoyed the vibe. Bought some books too.

Great coffee and pastries. Cool hangout and bookstore attached.

Great place to meet for a hot drink. Bookstore is attached next door and there is a sizable space out back. It’s too bad that technology has ruined the classical coffee/tea experience because just about everyone here is either on their phone or computer - there is hardly anyone interacting with anyone in an organic way.

I drove past this little store and had to stop and visit this little bookstore in Boulder. I was also surprised by a coffee bar adjacent to the store but during the middle of the morning it was packed, leaving me to take my book with me rather than sitting. If you're a book hugger like me and seek a nostalgic vibe, you'll feel it when entering. You'll have to stop and experiment for yourself.

Seems to be the last remaining piece of a Boulder that doesn't exist anymore. Was nice to sit and remember.

As a local since 2010, my favorite coffee shop in Boulder no longer has a welcoming community vibe, post Covid. Today, I made mistake of requesting ice tea in January. The mean, rude and condescending barista told us ice tea is not sold in January, thank goodness! She did not offer an entire wall of hot tea, rather “what do you want?” Her response reminded me of the trauma living in racist TX, not hip and inclusive Boulder, CO.

I’ve tried going there a handful of times and I think I’ve been able to sit down once.
