I’ve been ready to make food for Shiva, my Shepherd dog who has food for which he gets monthly injections or daily pills. We heard and read good things about Shine in Boulder, consulted with Anika there. She is an amazing and knowledgeable resource, and helped us to slowly switch from “commercial” to Shine dog food. The upshot is that we’ll also put our 3 cats on their “real” food. Thanks for being there for animal nutrition!

I went through so many dog foods before finding this place. I seriously have the pickiest eater of a dog, and I finally found a place where I can find food he will eat that is also nutritious for him. The staff is so knowledgeable. I’ve been going here for 4 years now, and they’ve helped me evolve his supplements and food as he gets into his older years and changes his eating habits. Also - the treats are fantastic - I won’t buy dogfood from anywhere else, and multiple friends have made the switch.

Polite and helpful and at a great price. My cat loves the rabbit and the rockfish. They also have great treats like minions and my cat loves.

This is the only food anyone should be feeding their beloved pet friends/family. BEST QUALITY.I got a Siberian kitty who had digestion issues and herpes in his eye from stress of transition. Within 24 hours of switching him cold turkey to this food all his symptoms resolved. He chomps down on the chicken and Turkey meal dinners. And is the happiest healthiest kitty ever now. It’s only been a month and his coat has already drastically changed to a silky feel.This food is pure and biologically appropriate, it’s simple. The staff is also incredibly sweet, helpful, knowledgeable and inviting.Thank you Shine ;)Love, icon

Our vet recommended we go with a raw meat diet for our cats, and Shine was one source that was suggested. So far, we've ordered from here twice (5lb packs of chicken, 5lb packs of rabbit), and our three cats are already showing an improvement in their health. Our diabetic cat is also in remission, although the change in food is probably a part contributor to this. Oh, as a bonus, you get knowledgeable, friendly service.

I went to Shine after a recommendation from my vet. Stepping into the space, I was instantly asked if I needed help with anything. As it turned out, I did. I worked with someone there to find a recipe that worked for me. The employee also showed me a less expensive alternative to what I was purchasing, which I also ended up getting. I was grateful for the support, especially since it was close to closing time and they could have been disengaged.Shine itself seems like a good company from what I’ve read. They are very transparent in the communication about their products. There’s no fluff and packaging and ingredients seem like they are good for pets and the planet. I’m excited to become a regular.

Now named Shine.pet, this business "Marty's Meals" has been consistently very high quality for over 5 years now at least. It may even be over 7 now. Their ingredients are very carefully sourced (ie. small farms, grass fed, beyond organic) and the staff is just wonderful. I buy the bulk meats, tripe, marrow bones, bone broth and goat kefir for my dog but they have gently cooked and custom recipes for dogs and cats with cancer, pancreatitis, etc. They also have toys, beautiful beds and more. My dog loves everything from there!

Sorry to have to write this, as I have been a very long customer of Marty's, now named "Shine." However, I have to speak up about the somewhat recent, 'un-named' ("T") new(er) hire-employee, often behind the sales counter these days. My friends and I are quite in unison about our experiences' with this rather unimpressive, seemingly stern gentleman, almost to the point, of going into the store far less often, when he is working. All three of the familiar "Marty's" women (no discrimination here), including the mgr, and especially, Anika (who has since left) are wonderful and almost always say "hi" and engage when you walk in, offer their help pro-actively, etc. They also remember who I am, and care to learn customer and frequency accounts -- in pretty short order. "He" does not, and has not. "He" never has said hello, nor have I even ever seen him smile. I know it's hard to find great help out there, but hey Boulder Mgr. ("S"), I think you need to listen to what a few of us 'long-timer's" think of this latest hire. We've been hoping for improvement, and have seen none, over time, in this regard... Customer service, indeed matters. And a high-end, specialty pet food store such as this, needs happy, friendly, dog and people-loving staff! Don't you agree?
