Frustrating. I called the Foothills location ahead to verify I could come in until 6:00 and that they had my lab requisition. I went out of my way to get there and be on time just to be told they don't do draws after 5:50. I arrived at 5:53. Why wouldn't someone inform me of that on the phone and/or list it on the website???

My 88 yo mother/law was recently a patient after a fall and broken hip required surgery. We are a family of various healthcare professionals and were involved with her care from the beginning. It seemed the discharge planners main goal was to get the patient out under any means necessary in order to increase the profit margin under the designated DRG. My husband spoke with the discharge planner several times and explained we wanted to talk to the potential post rehab SNIF facility to ensure it's reputation and care for our 88 yo mother. My husband was in the hospital visiting his mother and spoke in person with the case manager. It was not stated that they were planning on discharge that very same day. My husband left only to get a call a few hours later, not from the hospital, but from his frantic 88 yo mother at 4:30pm that they were discharging her. She had no idea where she was going nor did we get a call. They discharged this 88yo women with zero dignity. In fact, they placed her in a Rehab transport van with only an open hospital gown.No undergarments, no robe and not even shoes on her feet. She had her own clothes and they could have taken even 5 minutes to help her dress. Shame on this hospital for not having enough care and respect for a patient. Especially an elderly patient. As a nurse of 19 years married to a Healthcare Administrator and sister in law to a Nurse Practitioner, I am appalled that profits exceed compassion. Shame on all of you for playing a part in embarrassing and belittling an elderly patient. Our beloved family member. You need Nurse Navigators back or someone who can begin discharge planning at the onset of admission and keeping a family involved. Get a simple check sheet and make sure the boxes are ticked. Families can be your best or worst advocate. You have now made us your worse advocate.

This was the first time I experienced elder abuse at the hands of medical professionals and I checked myself out of the hospital days early due to how I was treated. I never much thought about how important it is to have support in hospital settings but I guess it depends on the hospital.I previously had decent experiences at this hospital and went out of my way to schedule surgery there, however, my last encounter was like being trapped in a horror movie, one horrid experience after another. I would never go there again, given other options. I didn't have anyone bedside advocating for me, and they took full advantage of it. I told them I was a head injury survivor and again, it felt like they took full advantage of it. I felt very unsafe and uncared for in this hospital.I went out of my way to schedule my surgery at BCH because previous experiences were not terrible however, in my recent 4-night stay, I discovered that:* You may not expect to be treated respectfully* Yes, you may be spoken to disrespectfully* Yes, you may be lied to by nurses about your treatment.* Yes, you may experience insensitivity and unkindness, regardless of anything you do.* No, you absolutely may not have your medicines on time - They consistently missed their mark and I was in enormous pain post-surgery but my 'scheduled' medicines were dispensed on time only 25% of the time at best, and only if I started asking for them 30 mins before they were due.* Yes, you may have to wander the halls searching for your nurse to give you your pain meds as much as 90 mins late.By day 3, I had heard "I'm sorry" dozens of times for mistakes they made and the treatment I received. Over and over and over again, they were sorry. I'm sorry we had to wake you up for lab work at 4 am even though I specifically requested to sleep since I hadn't slept in 3 days. They were not going to be inconvenienced for my health or my rest. I'm sorry we're late with your medicines. I'm sorry your CNA was rude to you. By day 3, I'm sorry was their mantra. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. If there is one thing you can count on, it is that they are very, very sorry. They are very, very sorry and very, very busy. This is indeed a very sorry place filled with very sorry staff and sorry behaviors and sorry excuses and I dare say, this is one really, really, sorry place. If you go there, there is a good chance, you will be sorry too.I received my meds late more than 50% of the time of my stay, sometimes as late as 90 minutes. Again, these were post-surgical pain meds so their inactions caused me a lot of extra pain and loss of sleep in my experience. Twice in 4 days, I had to wander the halls searching for my nurse to dispense medications they were 90 minutes late with. It was just crazy.For my farewell gift, when I was discharged on day 5, (at MY request), they forgot to put my prescriptions in my checkout package so I had to drive 35 mins back to get them and it was hours before I would get any rest. I really enjoy horror and this place really is, the things that nightmares are made of. You might have an okay experience but if have a bad one, it might be like nothing you could have imagined.If you are looking for a hospital near Boulder, Colorado, keep driving and take a different exit. There are lots of other hospitals within a short distance.If you flip through the reviews, you'll see some good and some bad, worthy of mentioning that there are twice as many bad reviews as there are good ones. At Boulder Community Hospital, it could go either way. I believe all those who wanted to give them zero stars but had to put at least one. I felt the same way. This really is a God-awful horrible excuse for a hospital, especially if you are a senior.

Nice people but avoid if you have a baby. Don't waste your time there go somewhere that has experience with babies.

Not sterile. The phlebotomist (blood drawer) wore the same pair of gloves for my entire visit, from getting me in the waiting room, through doors and curtains, typing on her computer, preparing the vials, sticking my arm with a needle, and applying the bandage. Further, right before she stuck me with the needle, she pressed a finger right on the spot where the needle went in my arm with her dirty glove! Blood borne pathogens anyone? They're free here!

Go to LabCorp or Quest. The photo reflects the bruising sustained from 2 missed attempts from 1 of 2 techs. With exception of second tech easily obtaining lab, this was the worst patient care experience I have seen in 26 years.

The nurses doctors and staff were all very friendly. They took really good care of me. They brought me a warm blanket and made sure I was comfortable. I was in and out within an hour. I even thought I lost a necklace and the lost and found security was very helpful I was embarrassed to tell them I found my necklace later on in my coat pocket lol (: Hopefully I won't need to be back but if I do I know I'll be in good hands!

The technicians/nurses are professional and friendly--I've never had such a painless blood draw. Also, the results were delivered to me via the patient portal the same day! I've never had that happen at any lab I've been to previously. High marks.

If I could post negative five stars I would. I have never had such an awful experience at a hospital. We took my dad here because suddenly he couldn't lift his right leg at all. They did all the things you'd think in the ER, checked for stroke, did MRI of his pelvis and leg, etc. and couldn't come to a definitive diagnosis and decided to admit him. My dad has been on low dose prednisone for over 6 months, so I told them that to make sure he would continue to get it as I know it's very dangerous to just stop abruptly. I found out five days later, they never gave him any prednisone during those five days. As a consequence, his blood sugar was all over the place. And oh, btw, they found out he had a "silent" heart attack because his tropinin levels were elevated. My dad has had low pressure for the last year (100/60), so when they said they were going to put him on lopressor to lower blood pressure, I expressed my dismay. He was like a Zombie the next three days, groggy, incoherent, unresponsive. I kept getting lab tests showing he was anemic, but after the first 24 hours, I never heard from the doctors. I finally called saying I needed to talk to someone. When I came by to see my dad, the attending physician comes by, so I ask to speak with him and ask him about what's wrong with my dad and what the plan for treatment was. He said: "Your dad doesn't seem that with it. He's 88 years old, so he's basically circling the drain, what do you want me to do?" I was shocked that any doctor would speak like that. I almost broke down in tears. I made a formal complaint with KePro (oversight for Medicare) and with the state. The next day, another doctor was equally rude, threatening to hang up on me while talking on the phone. Then when I had talked to the social worker about my dad going to Flatirons Rehab, I was told they wouldn't take him. They told me the doctor's note said he had severe dementia and they wouldn't take someone like that. I'm guessing he appeared that way because of the meds he was on. We ended up taking him home -- his leg wasn't any better than it was when we took him in. I guess we're lucky he didn't actually end up dead. They finally were nice the day I took him home, I'm guessing because they got word of my complaint. I will never take a loved one here, nor will I go here for any procedure.

Imaging dept required my husband to arrive 1 hour before his imaging appt. We had to call from the parking lot to register due to Covid restrictions. Registration took 2 minutes. Then we were told to wait in the lot until our scheduled time! They called after 15 minutes and told us to come in because it was 3 degrees out! We were then told by the imaging receptionist that we were very early for our appt. I reiterated to her that we were told to come in early. When we were finally called in at our appointed time, I questioned the tech about the time issue. The receptionist interrupted to give her opinion, I told her to be quiet because I wasn't speaking to her but she continued to interrupt. She then threatened to call Security because I was being "aggressive." I observed her later haranguing a young woman who was waiting to shadow a staff member, without having been asked to get involved. Apparently customer service isn't an important component in patient care. 1 hour early is ridiculous to demand. Patients are stressed and anxious, and staff responsibility is supposed to be to smooth over the visit.
