Excellent vet - it is difficult to convey how much this practice has done for my pets over the years. My dog, Dakota, spent five days here after she was poisoned by a counterfeit joint supplement from Amazon. They saved her life and she was able to live for another 3+ years. Dr. Nolan continued to see her for follow up visits to treat her kidney and liver damage from the supplement. He and the staff are knowledgeable, responsive, and compassionate. My dog, Toby, also spent 2 or 3 nights with Alpenglow when he began having seizures (which we later found were caused by a brain tumor). I trust Dr. Nolan and the staff at Alpenglow with my pets' lives without reservation.

I was reminded recently of what a difficult job it is to work in a veterinary office...how the compassion fatigue and depression is high, but how it makes a difference to remind vets how much they are appreciated so i wanted to write a review for Alpenglow. (Google ears to vets to learn more.) About a year and a half ago we were leaving to go out of town for a week and a half. Our 20 year old lab mix (yea, really- she made it a long time!) had been declining, was blind, deaf, and incontinent and we realized as we were departing it was sadly neither fair to her or to anyone else to leave her in someone else's care, and that it was safely her time. The staff at Alpenglow saw us late on a Wednesday evening, and were kind, compassionate and caring for our Poppy. The vet (whose name I don't recall) cried with us as we shared stories of the life of our sweet girl who lived longer than we ever might have imagined, and said goodbye, and was just wonderful. The whole staff was incredibly kind as we were leaving, and sent cards afterward. Just a wonderful experience. Thanks staff at Alpenglow.

The staff here is always rood and don't share any information with each other and ask for the same information several times over. They have killed one ferret and directly caused the death of another in the past. Very long wait times and charge very excessive rates for their services. I will never go to this emergency vet ever again and I wouldn't either if I were you.

Highly unprofessional practice. They canceled on me because of no electricity; could not get another appt for two weeks for my dog with renal failure. Finally got another appt only to find out my appointment was with a different vet than the one that was referred to me. When I inquired about a different vet for my dog's issues with achiness and arthritis, I was told to Google it. I would highly recommend doing your research and finding a different place to take your pet.

This place is really amazing. My 15 year old Dachshund Douglas became very ill and they took excellent care of him. They were very compassionate and caring. I highly recommend ALPENGLOW!

I have take a number of pets to Alpenglow over the years for both emergency and specialty services. I won't go to any other emergency vet, and this is my preferred clinic for specialty services that my general vet doesn't provide. I have heard people complain about the price (it sounds like there are cheeper emergency clinics in town), but I have found Alpenglow's pricing to be fair, and it's also worth it for me to pay a bit more for better service, and care for my pet. I highly recommend.

Took my dog here for emergency bloat surgery last year where the stomach twist. It's a life threatening emergency. They quoted me 8500 to 11000 for surgery What? To open him up and untwist his stomach. Do to the severity of this life threatening emergency you cannot shop around for quotes. After the surgery it turned out to only be 5k which is still crazy. My boy got sick recently took him to emergency vet closer to my home. They thought his stomach surgery had failed made return to Alpenglow to get an endoscopy. I had an appt. The next day only to find out the vet Dr Toby Eshelman did not set anything up no one had me on the books. He went ahead and did a radiograph even though my hospital sent the radiograph from the previous day.He diagnosed him with a twisted intestine and stated he needed emergency surgery. Quoted me at 10k. I said no I will take him to my hospital and have them do it. I was charged 875 for basically nothing.Took my dog back to my emergency vet who proceeded to do the surgery only to find his intestine WAS NOT twisted and his stomach was fine. That surgery was $5K while my dog was still sick and getting worse.I WILL NEVER TAKE ANY ANIMAL TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN. They are extremely greedy and WAY over priced not to mention completely misdiagnosing my still sick dog.I am consulting legal going forward.

My dog had an oral tumor. I called Alpenglow to make an appointment. My dog is senior and a breed that comes with some surgical risks so I wanted her in hands of someone experienced. Using the contact form on their website, I email the information, and requested an appointment. I hear nothing back. I call. They inform me they never got the request - their website confirmed it was sent when I made the request. They can't schedule me for a week. A tumor and I have to wait a week for any kind of appointment. I take the appointment. I send pictures and current pertinent medical information via the email address posted on their website. That email never gets acknowledged, not ever. The evening before the day of her appointment (after waiting that week), they call to cancel. They need to reschedule. They have an emergency surgery. Maybe I am naive but an emergency disrupting and cancelling all the appointments in business with "Emergency Center" in the name seems a bit concerning. Add that to the website 'malfunction' and probable email malfunction and I am left wondering what else in the business isn't "quite right". They tell me the reschedule will be for the next week. When I object, they offer an appointment one day later than her originally scheduled appointment. We are talking about a potentially cancerous tumor. I called Colorado State University Veterinary Hospital before they were even open the very next morning. The woman that answers tells me RIGHT OFF THE BAT "Lets get you over to the dental department" I was like "She has a tumor.. it will require surgery. I don't understand." She replies "They will work with oncology to remove the tumor or vice versa but because it is oral, we will have a veterinary dentist and/or oral surgeon look at it first." She saved me an unnecessary costly, in time and money, consult. I couldn't help but take note of the knowledge, expertise and patient (owner) experience difference! I left a message with the dentistry office. I went to the veterinary hospital dentistry website and lo and behold, oral surgery to remove oral tumors is listed in their services. The next morning, I decide to also send them an email. Less than TEN MINUTES later, I get a reply asking for a photo and her records! She says "I was going to give you call you but just got your email. The dentist wants to review the photo before setting the consult. If you can't get the photo, its ok. It's just nice to have it look it over, get an idea of where, size, appearance, etc before we set up the appointment. " I was floored! The difference in the experience was astonishing. I cancelled the appointment with Alpenglow. It was clear to me where my dog would be in good hands and which facility has their ducks in a row and act together. Mind you, Alpenglow is in my "backyard", CSU is over an hour away. A funny note: I was out for a run that day before my dog's appointment. During that run, I looked to the sky and thought "God, I need you to keep [my dog] safe through this one ok?" I got home to the message about my dog's appointment being cancelled. Thanks, God?

Excellent and hard working staff here! The moment we walked in the door we felt comfortable and welcome. It was obvious to is that we chose the right place for a very difficult procedure. From Maclovia to Savannah to Dr. Petrovec, we recommend Alpenglow for all your pet needs. Thank you for everything!

If I could give this facility 40 stars I would. My small cockapoo woke us up one night violently vomiting and struggling to breath. We rushed her to Alpenglow and were immediately seen and greeted with amazing bedside manners (a huge plus given that it was 2 am). For the next two days, my dog was required to stay in the facilities and I cannot express enough gratitude and awe at how fantastic every single person of the staff was here. The main doctor we dealt with, Christine, was OUTSTANDING. She called at least twice a day and spent as much time as needed to talk me through everything that was happening and ensuring I understood. Also the front desk ladies just are simply the most amazing humans ever. They ADORED my dog, knew her by name, and are just fan-freaking-tastic. I wish this place was a regular vets office because both of my dogs would be going here in a heartbeat.

I had to bring my kitty in on Thanksgiving, and even with a major case load of emergencies, the doctors, nurses, and staff gave us thorough attention and excellent discharge instructions. We then came back because I felt she needed more than I could give her at home, and her hospitalization went really well. They're so sweet about all the questions and calls and visits I wanted to make while she was there. When she was released (after 3 calls from staff to update us), she was in great shape with lots of at-home meds to help. They even took time to teach me how to give subcutaneous fluids if she needs them at home! The real LOVE they give to their patients and their parents is so palpable. Yes, it is expensive because it's emergency care, but there's nothing they did that she didn't need. In fact they gave extra love and care just through the kindness of their hearts. I wish they could be my regular vet!

We were referred to Alpenglow when our dog became seriously ill and an ultrasound was necessary. The care they provided was both kind AND knowledgeable and we very much appreciate the caring, but direct, way in which they communicated with us. From the office staff to the vet nurse to the doctors - everyone was amazing. The docs who cared for our dog, Dr. Nolan & Dr. Galloway were both incredibly knowledgeable in their fields and true professionals. It's rare to receive exemplary service these days - and the entire team was well beyond "excellent".

Dr. Monaghan at Alpenglow saved our dog's life. He stopped eating and drinking and was very lethargic. We had no idea what was wrong and feared he wouldn't make it. Our regular vet referred us to Alpenglow because they have several specialists on their staff. It took a couple of months with many tests, vet visits and medication adjustments but eventually his condition stabilized and he is now doing great. It wasn't cheap but we were given an estimate for every procedure and asked for our permission before proceeding. Dr. Monahan was available by email if we had concerns between appointments. The staff was caring and responsive.

My cat's emergency scare in the middle of the night was handled with utmost consideration and professionalism here. I appreciate everyone I came in contact with. Highly recommended, from someone who doesn't recommend much.

We went in to get our dog's eye checked. It had been draining for a couple of days. After waiting for a solid hour (not very urgent service) they checked our dog and whipped out a bunch of tests they wanted to perform. As pet owners who were at an urgent care for the first time, we didn't think twice before approving those very costly tests. Then came the diagnosis - idiopathic! We were given steroids for the dog's inflammation, and eye drops to help with the symptoms after $700 worth of inconclusive tests. What is truly idiopathic is the intentions of the doctors who work here. Clearly they aren't there to help. They are here solely to mint money in the name of urgent care. We recently visited a standard vet clinic and got antibiotics for our dog who is now doing so much better because this urgent care facility came to the solid conclusion of leaving out the possibility of a bacterial infection, but hey, it's idiopathic.
