I was having a super tough getting questions answered for an ar build, I called a few gunsmiths in the area with no luck. I called Pheonix and got my questions answered right away, they were super helpful and extremely knowledgeable/passionate about what they do. Thank you for the help!

Avoid at all costs. 2 years ago they were happy to take my friends money and never deliver the product. No communication nothing. Please feel free to reach out to me if you experienced the same and would like to join a class action lawsuit. This is theft.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go here for gunsmithing outside of basic AR work. The multimillionaire machinery on the manufacturing side is impressive, but the gunsmiths are some of the least professional and inadequate I've ever known, and I attribute it directly to their "lead gunsmith," who I believe is named Eric. Just as quick of a recap as I can: told two week turnaround added up being three months; first time I go to retrieve my "finished weapon," the barrel is canted 5 degrees (had anybody shouldered the weapon, it was SO obvious); gave it back to them for another 9 weeks, and the lead gunsnith says he'll install my trigger for free to smooth things over. Welp...he sure did take the grinder to the trigger body because he was trying to make it work with the OEM hammer. This trigger had already been custom milled to fit the gun, and instead of it being a light 3lb single stage with zero creep, it suddenly had 1/2" or more of pre travel. After SHOWING him that the hammers for the OEM and aftermarket look very dissimilar, he dug in his heels and insisted I was wrong, though the pictures don't lie. After I installed the proper hammer myself, the pull weight was 1lb (totally unsafe). They had hidden costs that weren't run by me at ALL (original $170 quote ended up well over $400). All the work desks were disorganized messes with the employees chainsmoking and trying to find parts and even FULL WEAPONS they'd misplaced. When I finally got my gun back since i didn't want them absolutely RUINING IT, it was missing a part. I was told I was imagining things, until he found it on his desk. I offered to come retrieve it myself, but the coward insisted on mailing it, rather than face me in person.. INSTEAD of making things right, he commenced to cursing me out in the main lobby in front of customers and threatened to make sure no gunsmith in the area would work with me because "he knows people and had connections." As a business owner, he'd be fired the first week, and it's obvious they're just a bunch of buddies, though the few other gunsmiths and family that owned the place were sweet, kind, respectful people. This employee is the ONE rotten apple that can ruin the entire bunch of hardworking professionals. Please, Eric, reply and lie all about it to try to save face. You don't give a thought to customer satisfaction and will do anything to cover your rear. I sincerely hope after your owners read this, they reconsider your employment and choose one of the several other qualified, professional, and polite employees as your replacement. Find a new career.

I am only giving one star because I cannot give zero. Read all of the reviews before considering purchasing anything from Phoenix. They are spot on with my current experience of horrible customer service and not getting any answers. I ordered a "Christine" literally a year and a half ago. It was August of 2021. They assured me multiple times throughout the year that I would have it within a month every time I called. I have left 5 or 6 voicemails with no return calls over the past couple weeks only to receive an email saying they are halting production on all "Christine" models. Pretty terrible experience after spending $5,000 and nothing to show for it so far.

I'm sure they do a good job with their work but my customer service experience has been worse than going to McDonalds. I have filled out the online quote, called a few times left name, number, and proposition, and even went in they said the gunsmith was out for lunch and I'd be contacted that day or the next but still nothing. I have been attempting to reach them since July. I was wanting to help a local business but I don't trust that I would even be contacted about my firearm being done if given to them.

Brought in a pistol slide and barrel for black cera coating. I was told "we spray black all the time, it'll be done in a week." Over a month later I had left several messages that were never returned. Finally spoke to a guy named Aaron who assured me my stuff was in the oven and would be ready the following Monday. It wasn't. That Wednesday after leaving several more unreturned messages I got a hold of a woman and told her I was coming to pic it up whether it was done or not. When I got there they were scrambling to reinstall my sights. During this process they damaged the cera coat that was freshly applied (not applied a week before as Aaron had told me) I was told I could take it as is or leave it with them to get fixed. A refund was never offered. I chose the latter and was able to pic it up later that week. HOWEVER THEY DAMAGED MY SIGHTS WHEN THEY REINSTALLED! This entire process was a joke. It doesn't seem like there is any idea of professionalism or customer service. Believe all the negative reviews and take you business elsewhere.

I am writing this only the day after I picked up my firearm. I came in looking for a custom coating on my EDC due to rust issues and wanting better protection. After a brief conversation about what I wanted with the painter and the owner, I agreed with the price. The painter told me it would take 2 to 3 weeks because he had one gun in front of mine. After 2 weeks I called in to see how it was going. My firearm had not even been touched yet, no big deal I'm very understanding. On the 3rd week I was told he had gotten one coat of paint on it and it would be ready in a couple of days to get put back together. After a week with no word I called again. They told me their gunsmiths haven't had time to assemble it and it will be ready in a couple of days. This went on for 2 weeks. On the 6th week an employee named Rex (he deserves a raise) who was "not a gunsmith but a huge 1911 fan" is who ended up putting it back together. I was then told in their famous line, that their painter just had to put my last name on the slide and "it would be ready in a couple of days". Well after 1 and a half more weeks I ended up canceling the name from my order because of frustration of the project being 5-6 weeks over the time frame they gave me. At least the coating was good (or so I thought). The NEXT DAY I was carrying my firearm all day in it's holster (alien gear) that never caused even a wear mark before. At the end of the day I pull it out to lock it up. Upon inspection I noticed in several places that the coating is already starting to wear and come off. Gonna find someone who will do it right. $325 for terrible customer service and terrible work. I'm not just warning but begging if you value your firearms DO NOT GO TO PHOENIX WEAPONRY!

STAY AWAY!!!! - former customer and employee. See photo: Phoenix failed to do a quality control inspection prior to delivery. I found 70% of my products were out of spec and tolerance. Had to return them to owner to get them fixed. Their work is trash! The quality of their machining is subpar by far. I had to return my products several times just to end up with 3 unusable products. The Owner blew me off when I asked them to fix or replace my products I had already purchased. To make things worse I found out through an employee that the owner doubled the price of my parts. I confirmed this with other machine shops. Their employees are rude, Disrespectful, I saw Jeremy, an employee of Phoenix, literally turn red in the face and yell a customer out of the store. Seriously stay away!!!

I will start by saying I’ve had decent experiences in the past, at their old location, but this was not a repeat. Took my rifle to have it coated and explained that I wanted all exposed metal, except for the bolt, to be coated to prevent rust. This is the same order I place on two previous identical rifles and a shotgun.Their “front of house”/individual, Rex, receiving the order wrote down the order and their coating specialist agreed to the job that was slated to take 2 weeks. 5 weeks later, only the barrel and receiver were done and the coating specialist claimed he had never received any instruction to do anything else.4 more weeks pass and I get a call that the gun is “finished.” Only the magazine plate and scope rings were coated, but the remaining bottom metal and bolt handle are still uncoated. The rifle manufacturer is notoriously poor at their finishes and without coating, rust is almost a given.I exchanged emails with one of their operations heads a few weeks later, who gave me numerous reasons as to why the job hadn’t been completed correctly and what could be done to remedy the situation, as I had already paid the full $350. The individual stated that it would be best to have the rest painted in a standard black color for ease on their end and a “fast turnaround” time. This saga stretched out over 4.5 months, and I finally got my rifle back, now in two different colors, an earful of excuses, and a really bad overall experience. Rex was the only individual who was customer service oriented and wished to see the job through. Phoenix had better service in their old location with their former coating specialist.Caution to anyone using their services. Get EVERYTHING in writing and expect delayed lead times with minimal communication.
