We just moved in to this place and it is awesome! Excellent prices, total online move in access, keyless entry, clean nice units and facility. So glad we made the switch!!

Friday, January 26, 2024, I had thought maybe we would move our things to this Johnstown Lockaway Storage location that my wife reserved on January 25th online. Their website said the units were climate controlled. They have some outside units and others inside. We reserved a unit that was supposed to be climate controlled for our temperature sensitive items. I went to move into the unit and discovered that the unit was electronically locked and it did not seem to be climate controlled. I went to the office. I asked about the climate controlled status of the unit and informed the staff I was unable to get into the unit because of the electronic lock. She was friendly and informed me though the unit was inside, it was not climate controlled. She let me know the outside units get very dusty and dirty. The inside units are clean and most are not climate controlled. I told her I did not believe the unit would work and I would consult my wife who had reserved the unit. It was closing time at the office, so I informed the staff I would need to come back another day. I attempted to update the app to access the unit to show my wife the unit and discuss if it could still work even though it was not climate control. Because the app was the same used for my previous storage facility, the app was never able to connect to the new facility. Monday, January 29, 2024, I went back to the storage unit to inform them that the unit would not be sufficient and to cancel. There was no person at the office so I called the number. I spoke with a person who said they had canceled the unit and the GM of the Johnstown location would have to process the refund. They said they left a message for the GM who would call my wife the next day. The call the next day did not come. On Feb 1, 2024, I received a text asking if I had moved out of the unit. I responded explaining that I never moved in. I recieved a reply informing me they would not refund our money.
In short, don't get a unit from this location. You are better off going somewhere else.

STAY AWAY! If I could do 0 stars I would! We have stored our travel trailer here for 2.5 years and it got broken into and stuff stolen. When brought up to management they keep giving us the run around telling us that someone will reach out to us and still nothing over a week later. Our locks were cut and our door was pried open. When asked if they have any video of the incident, nothing! They want to just push the problem under the rug and act like nothing happened. If you value your stuff at all, do not store anything here, who knows if the cameras even work that they state are so great!

When you CAN get a hold of them, the employees are extremely helpful. My only issues are communication and the fact that when you make an account over the phone, your info is randomly generated and it's a major hassle to get it fixed.

The experience I had here was great. I really enjoyed the Bluetooth technology. It was easy start and to get going with my storage unit.

Nobody is ever in the office or answers the phone. Have done nothing except raise prices since taking over. Can get better prices elsewhere
