We rented ebikes for a journey up to Aspen and back. These folks are professional, knowledgeable, and ensured that we were on the right bikes. Sonny prepped the bikes before we headed out, answered our questions, and everything went perfectly! I highly recommend this shop.

I Bought 3 bikes with them .
When i needed a help to fix a flat tyre, they Said they couldn’t help as they do not take “ walk ins “
I asked if possible to leave the bike and pick up on another day as there’s no rush .. The guy super cocky and really don’t care .
No way to come back ever .

Had a one day ski rental for the wife and I. We both had a great time, mostly because our set up was spot on. Boots fit perfectly, and the skis were well maintained. By far the best rental experience I’ve had! See y’all next time.

I have been drooling over a new Liv Devote gravel bike all summer and finally pulled the trigger on it today. The crew at BBS were very attentive and thorough. The bike I wanted was no longer in stock so iyer needed tipp be ordered. The crew didn't not hesitate at all to offer that option or try to sell me one that was not my size but in stock. I've worked in the bike industry for 25yrs and in and out of shops during that time. I'm female and get major anxiety going into a shop because most experiences that been that of being treated like l know nothing or that I am lesser than. Not there case today! Now I'm waiting for my new ride to come in. Waiting to give that fifth star after bike fit and set up. Eeep!

I came into the basalt bike and ski shop this morning needing a helmet after I had had a crash yesterday in Glenwood Springs. They set me up with a new helmet and looked over the bike that I crashed with and realigned it and fixed it up for us for no charge, the staff there was very considerate and helpful and pleasant, and I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

Friendly and daily exchange of equipment if you want different skis etc... cheaper than renting at the ski resort for sure!

I was looking for a Specialized Levo SL in a small, with the COVID supply chain issues it became a 6 month ordeal. Even being friends with a Specialized Rep did not help locate one and I was starting to give up. While on the Specialized site I found this shop had the bike I was hunting! I put in an email query and Parker called me almost immediately, confirmed he was looking at the bike I wanted. When I explained I lived in Texas and would need to make arrangements he said he was putting my name on it and to stay in touch about pick up. He was extremely helpful and we corresponded via email further about the details.
Two weeks later I had convinced my husband to take a road trip (it didn't take much convincing) and let Parker know. He told me he would not be in the shop but promised I would be taken care of. I called the day before and confirmed the bike was there. We came in and I was very impressed with the staff and also happy to see a friendly shop dog (hi Indy!). The manager took time to set up the bike properly, explain how the e-bike worked, and gave me suggestions on my first rides to make it safe. He also told us which trails to try.
While we were in they made some adjustments to my husband's Stumpjumper free of charge. We left and enjoyed a wonderful ride on the trail that was suggested. While I am not local, if I am in the area this will be my "local" bike shop. Listening to how they interacted with other customers in the store I could tell customer service is a priority. The whole staff made a 16 hour road trip worth it, we have been biking for 20+ years and this is one of the best shops we have been to.

Great buying experience! Brie was so helpful and knowledgeable, just awesome to interact with. Rode multiple bikes at both the Carbondale and Basalt stores, and everyone we chatted with was so friendly. We visited multiple bike stores throughout the state and ended up going back to the Basalt store to purchase this Yeti I couldn’t get out of my head :-) Thanks!!

These guys have great gear and the best bikes for sale. Prices are pretty steep as they tend to cater to the aspen clientele however they do have great mechanics and their pricing on bike repairs is always reasonable. Beware it is becoming very difficult to walk in without an appointment for any work on your bike. They are super backed up. I made an appointment for a bike tune 6 weeks in advance and I still got the impression they may or may not get to it that day.

My wife and I stopped in this bike shop for a flat repair. They were quick, and courteous. It is a well-equipped bicycle shop with a good selection of mountain bikes, E bikes, and rode bikes. They repaired her flat while we waited and got us out the door quickly.

I had an extremely positive experience with the crew at Basalt Bike and Ski. I worked primarily with Charlie and Stef on my new build. I had some rather esoteric requests for how I wanted to set up my bike and Charlie was super helpful fielding all my questions and requests. Charlie listed to my requests, gave some helpful input with options and pricing, and was personally dedicated to making sure my build went smoothly. I knew from the start that the process of customizing and tweaking a stock build were going to be cared for by Basalt Bike and Ski.Please consider investing your service and bike needs with Basalt Bike and Ski. These are friendly folks with deep knowledge and actually care about the project.
