I've been seeing Amy for several years. She is fast and always does exactly what I'm looking for. She helps me keep my hair healthy too by suggesting products, but I never feel pressured. She's also fun to talk to when I'm feeling conversational, but also respects when I want to be silent during the appointment. I am grateful I found her!

$300 for a poor highlight job that doesn't result in highlights is outrageous. This was my second and last visit to this salon. The first time, I went in for a root touch up and trim. Amy was my stylist both times. The "trim" was more like a cut - she chopped off close to 2" of my hair off - but the root touch up was good, so I booked a subsequent appointment. I figured the hair would grow back anyhow. The second time, I reminded Amy that I was trying to go lighter. She kept showing me samples of hair swatches but said "it won't be like this - just so you have an idea" many times. That should've been my first indication that she didn't know what she was talking about. Nevertheless, I trusted her to give me highlights as we had discussed while going lighter. The end result was NO highlights and DARK (almost black) hair. She set me back a year of processing to lighten my hair! When I indicated that my hair was now way too dark, she said the toner would wash out after a couple weeks and the hair would lighten up. It's at least six shades darker than when I walked into the salon, and she continued to explain that this was better for my skin tone. Never mind what the customer wants - she just did what she thought was best. Three things come to mind regarding this experience: 1. Amy doesn't listen. She does what SHE thinks the client needs. 2. Any doesn't communicate well. She can't describe her thoughts - or perhaps she prefers to do things her way. 3. $300 to get my hair done by someone who doesn't hear a word about what I'm trying to accomplish is way too much money. I've paid far less and gotten far better service. I won't return to this place and urge others to stay away. I don't know how they stay in business.

I get my men’s haircut done with Amy and she is excellent. I’m very happy to have found this salon! Absolutely recommend and of course the aveda products are great.

Update: Sadly, I had to give this salon three stars. I got hair color and it was bad. I had one part of hair didn't get covered so it looked uneven. Every time I look at mirror I am disappointed how my hair looks. The price I paid and got that kind of result make me don't want to go back. As an Asian, It's been soooo hard to find a good stylist who understands and has knowledge about Asia hair. I have lots of bad experiences of American stylists who cut or dyed my hair horribly because they had no clue! I'm traumatized by those experiences :( Finally, I found a decent stylist. Thank you Amy (and yelp!). She is also Asian who has over 20 years of experience. I've had hair cut and color and very happy with the result. Oh, this salon uses Aveda products so it's plus too. I'm definitely coming back.
