Fun, hole-in-the-wall arcade! Cheap entertainment, lots of games to choose from. We played House of the Dead to completion. Perfect way to spend an afternoon!

Recently visited (Thursday Dec 5th, 6pm-8ish pm) and was treated incredibly well by the staff on duty that night. One worker was named Quinton and their manager, (I'm so sorry, I forgot his name but I believe it started with a K. He looked to be early-mid twenties) were very friendly, helpful, and understanding in general.
I was on a date and we were using my pre-used play card so we had a few more credits and tickets to work with even after purchasing about 2$more of credits. We had a blast and actually used every credit on the card but weren't having any luck with their prize grabbers. These machines are notoriously tricky in every arcade but Nickel-A-Play does offer 2 additional prize grabbers that are easier to win, but admittedly not as fun of prizes haha. Regardless, we tried every trick and after spending the rest of our credits (and probably way too many on the grabbers) it was time to "cash in" our tickets. Nickel-A-Play will often have a stock of prizes that are equally split between prize grabbers and the actual ticket counter so when I noticed a purse very similar to the one I couldn't win in the prize grabbers I asked the management if I could use my tickets to purchase the purse. He was unable to find the exact one in the system but found a smaller one incredibly similar and was able to make the deal happen.
This is not the first time I've asked a silly request upon a prize and had management problem solve a reasonable solution for everyone and I'm incredibly appreciative of that.
(General Review)
I always have fun here as it's inexpensive and the off-hours offer a more laid-back experience. [Usually Tues-Thur, non-holidays]
Something for everyone: I've been visiting this lil "hole-in-the-wall" arcade since the age of 9 and I'm in my mid-twenties now; it's certainly got something for every age range in terms of games and even prizes. I've been able to entertain friends and family of all ages for an extremely affordable price over at least a decade and I don't plan on stopping.
How it stays affordable: They keep costs low by not serving food (D&B and ChuckeeCheeses already include food cost/cleaning in their fees even if you don't order) and keeping unnecessary renovations to a minimum. They do offer a fairly well stocked snack and soda vending machine up front with Wendy's is across the parking lot. I've never had an issue letting the staff know I would be back to the arcade within 10-20 min, especially for food. They may offer to mark your hand just in case but they won't double charge you to re-enter.
Cost, payment, and deals: I believe the prices have changed very slightly over the years but they offer different deals everyday of the week, I'm certain you can call ahead to check as well. I went on Thursday and admition for two adults was about 8$ after tax but there is a 10$ minimum fee to use a card.
Playcards vs the original nickel: I recommend holding onto the plastic play cards as I do believe you have to purchase them (very inexpensive as well). Some aren't happy with these lil cards but I can guarantee these things have already benefitted customers and the arcade. When the machines took actual nickels they would break down or be jammed with garbage etc and it took a lot of time to get the repairman in. By the time they got one machine repaired another would be damaged and out of use for days to weeks; the machines still use the same amount of "credits"/nickels with the card readers, they just require fewer maintenance needs.
Making your admition stretch: The front half of the arcade will offer many different types of games that you can win "tickets" or even prizes directly from. These are often newer machines with the classics still nearby. You can always add/buy more credits to your card but I recommend visiting the machines in the

Bang for your buck ✔. Friendly staff aka jamie ✔. That is where it ends ❌. Hope you had a recent hep b shot. This place is aurora grimey. Just look at how the management has responded to negative comments. Super unprofessional. Just like k mart and JC penny this place will soon fade into the past.
