I hate to be mean but my hair definitely does not look great. I went in today for a balayage/cut/style that I purchased on Groupon. I didn't notice how bad the balayage looked until I got out in the light and could see the roots. It literally looks like I have outgrown highlights. What really sucked was the style I was given. One of my favorite parts about getting my hair done is having it styled since I have naturally thick curly hair. She honestly half assed my style. The whole underneath was still damp and curly and then the top was frizzy and half way styled. I asked if she could flat iron it for me and she said that she didn't have one and then said it wasn't part of the package I purchased. Im shocked that she let me leave with how my hair looked. Went home and had to spend 30 mins straightening it. Idk pretty bummed. I even had to pay $30 extra cause of my hair length but she only used one bowl of bleach. Ive gotten my hair done enough times to know they usually charge additional if they have to use more bowls of product.

Mary was extremely professional! I can't remember the last time I was this satisfied with my hair cut and color. The interior of the salon was also very inviting and tastefully decorated. I've found my new spot!

I was passing through Arvada Colorado on the way home to California when visiting our daughter and I found out that once again all the salons and nail salons were closed once again. I was in a panic because I needed color and a cut. My daughter set me up for a nail appointment and next door was a hair salon. I contacted the salon and made an appointment with Mary Shugrue.Needless to say I was really nervous. Mary immediately reassured me with her years in the business that it would be fine. The end to this long review is that she was just as good as she said. This was the BEST haircut and color I have ever gotten. She listened to what I wanted and did what was needed. I would love to be able to fly into Colorado whenever I need color and cut. Highly recommend her.

Jamie is a very talented hair stylist. I've known her for years and she specializes in haircuts. Her color comes out great too! Highly recommended and nice salon atmosphere.

I’m new in the area of Arvada. I was looking for a good place to cut my hair, I had high expectations for this place. It looked decent, but the service was horrible. The clippers they used were not working properly. It felt like they were pulling my hair. My haircut was horrible, not well proportioned, line up was very crooked, etc. To top it off the price was too high. If you’re going to pay 30 for a cut , you expect a lot. Just left disappointed and frustrated, it was not busy at all.

Mary Shugrue is one of the stylists at Salon 58. I've been going to Mary for several years and she always does a great job with my hair. The haircut that I received today was trendy and exactly what I wanted for my upcoming vacation. I am looking good and feeling confident thanks to Mary's creative styling skills.

Sign on the door says walk in welcome, so my son and I walked in to get a back to school haircut. There was two women there working. One was obviously busy with the ONE other customer in the salon. The other told us “Sorry were too busy to do a hair cut right now.†Seriously! There was two women working and one customer in there other than us. Her hair was wet like she was having her hair done.?!?! No worries we will take our business elsewhere. It's a shame too because I spend a lot of money at salons monthly.

I have been going to Mary S. since she's been in Salon 58 and for years before that too. I wear my hair very short and she does a great job! She really pays attention to the detail so that I get wonderful comments ALL the time about my hair cuts! Mary takes pride in helping you to look your best because she would want the same for herself. Thanks Mary! I appreciate you!

I saw Mary today. I walked into this salon for an all over highlight and cut. I had specific pictures of what I wanted and told her I was a hair stylist myself. She worked on me for a bit and then rinsed me. I let her know what toner I usually use and she said, “I don’t usually do toners.” I asked her to please time my hair to the desired tone I asked for and she said she didn’t have that toner. She then toned it with something else. Then she trimmed my hair and asked if I wanted my hair round brushed. I told her that I wear it curly and dry it with a diffuser. She said, “I don’t have a diffuser.” So, I asked her to just dry it. I left there with wet hair. I paid $165 for this service today and left unsatisfied. I would not recommend her to anyone. It is unfortunate that it is expected to pay high prices for a service, but not expected to receive good service and the end result we are attaining to in return. If I owned this salon, I would definitely look into what my employees were doing!
