some teachers are nice. but they call an school resource officer for nothing at all. it is annoying for parents to get called for no reason at all.

Do not believe what you read on their website. This school doesn't have the staff to back up what they promise and use law enforcement and the criminal justice system as "behavioral support". If your child gets easily dysregulated there's a high chance that they will receive a citation from an SRO and you will end up in court. This has happened to multiple families at this school. Also, they will try to convince you that you don't need an IEP or a 504 Plan, but you absolutely do. If you've been through this at other schools the tricks Prospect plays to avoid culpability will be very familiar.Editing to add that it was interesting to learn firsthand that Prospect has a bit of a reputation at the Arvada municipal court - i.e. wasting their resources and parent's time by sending their students to court over trivial things.

We are everyday thankful that we found this school for our son! It was a big change for us separating our twin boys but we knew our son with asd and adhd needed more than he’d been getting and we found exactly what he needed to thrive and learn in an environment that supports him both educationally and independently. His confidence has grown tremendously being in this environment. Hands down best IEP meeting we’ve had and without the constant stress we endured all the years prior knowing the schools before weren’t meeting expectations. Prospect does and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences so far!

We have had our son in several schools over the years and he nor us have received the kind of support that Prospect has provided. Throughout the admission process to the incredibly difficult standardized testing for the state, the staff works diligently to make the experience successful for our son. The IEP meetings were completed on time with legitimate concern for helping my son progress in his education. It’s a new school and there are things to improve upon, and I see the staff working to improve each day. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of Prospect Academy.

I could not be more grateful for this school! Our neighborhood middle school would not have been a good fit for my daughter. I had zero other options and I cannot convey enough how appreciative I am that Prospect exists and that my daughter is lucky enough to be able to attend! When I drop her off in the morning I feel so fortunate that she gets to be in such a safe, nurturing environment. My drive to Prospect is roughly an hour each way and I would drive a lot farther for this exceptional school! The staff is amazing!! They are the most caring, talented individuals and really have your child's best interests at heart. This school was created with the purest, kindest intentions and is such a one in a million opportunity. To have a school of this caliber (and especially one that is free) is really unheard of.Prospect is really fulfilling a crucial need and I will forever be thankful for them!

This is the best choice for my son and our family! We have had an amazing experience here in Middle School. The school specializes in educating children that have behavioral and learning challenges and they meet the need superbly. The teachers are passionate, the classes are small. This is a Private School education for free because it is a Charter!

My child was in a special education program in elementary school, and we were looking for a school that could support his special learning and emotional needs in middle school. Prospect Academy was our answer! My child looks forward to going to school every day. He has made friends there. Prospect Academy has small classes, and views each child as a whole person, not just an IEP. We are so happy we found this free Colorado Charter School!

Three of my 4 kids attend Prospect and my 4th kiddo plans to go when they're middle school age. What a breath of fresh air! I am blown away by how the staff listens to parents and kids concerns. My kids love going to school now. I don't dread calls from the school. They embrace behaviors. Of course there are natural consequences for unsavory behaviors but I'm not getting calls daily for minor infractions. They call because they're worried. My child wasn't acting like himself and his behavior was secondary, the school wanted to make sure that my child was doing ok before addressing behaviors. This is the support we've been looking for! They also teach mastery not these convoluted levels that kids need to attain because of their age or grade level. I really wish all schools would use Prospect as an example and really meet kids where they are. I'm so thankfully we ended up at Prospect!

Teachers 9/10Students 3/10This school isn’t too great. The students are mean spirited and hypocritical (and they didn’t get punished for their actions). I was bullied all the time there. also, as of now, the school is still not finished even after a year they opened! Despite these, I made some good if not great friends here, despite a lot of the kids being very rude and mean. The teachers on the other hand, are great! They actually help you with your assignments if you need help and are very kind people who I liked. Overall, the school is a good idea on paper, however it could’ve been executed a lot better

Prospect Academy is just starting out this year 2022, they are open to all students 5-8 but are really trying to help kids who "learn differently" however that may be. They have kids in class based on skill level, not by age. This school worked so hard to lovingly open its doors to kids that are just not getting what they need in the public school system, but who also can't afford the unbelievably high price of private school. Oh, yeah, this school is tuition free! Now I'm not saying it's all roses, they did JUST open, so they are working out a couple kinks. I have just started (2 months ago) my son, who is in 7th grade and is a "typical" child and my daughter, who is in 5th grade that has special needs. They both like the school so far and so do I
