Prior to moving to Colorado from Ohio our daughter asked our mechanics, Weber Automotive Inc, for a mechanic reference in Golden. Colchin Automotive was recommended.
We travel from Ohio to visit our daughter in Golden a few times a year. The last two visits found us having to use Colchin’s services. The first time was a possible coolant leak and a few weeks ago we realized that our muffler heat shield had corroded and needed some repair to ensure we made it safely back to Ohio.
In both cases, we worked with Jason and the staff who managed to squeeze us in to busy schedule to accommodate our time constraints. Under the circumstances we were extremely appreciative of the professional courtesy and expert evaluation. We were thankful that only minimum repairs were required, and they did not recommend any unnecessary costly repairs.
The team at Colchin are exceptional.

My introduction to Colchin came as a referral from my son and friends at his church. I have a Beautiful 2008 Lincoln MKX AWD that we have kept in the garage, but used daily and has 197,000 miles on it. There was a problem with the transaxle and driveshaft that the cost of repairs could be more than the car was worth. Colchin correctly diagnosed the issues, cautioned us on what they would have to do to find out the extent of the problem. Oil and radiator fluids were leaking, the car made noise it never did before and it was unreliable. Based upon Colchin's 30-year reputation, and Josh, a no-nonsense former mechanic, now manger's explanation, I felt comfortable paying $3000 to get it fixed. I found a used part, a unique drive shaft on Ebay, because new parts were not available, bought it and shipped it to Colchin's shop. They installed it for $350.
I now drive a clean, Champaign white MKX vintage car with heated and cool leather seats, eight speakers stereo with six disk CD changer that drives like a dream. For a second car, my car, this is sweet. No promises, but my goal is two to four years of using it around Metro Denver. I highly recommend the long-term experienced staff at Colchin Automotive with diagnosing what is really the problem with your vehicle and giving you a fair estimate of what it is going to cost to get it repaired. Had a few wiring issues (3), and Josh was the person who took care of me.
They fixed a lot of the bad wiring done by the previous place.
They fixed my tow trailer wiring, the tailgate driver side wiring, and a loose ground wiring, making sure everything was working properly. Reasonably priced and friendly staff.
Got my truck in and out the same day!

Highly recommend taking your car to Colchin Automotive in Arvada, CO! We got a referral from our neighbor who have been loyal customers for years when we had an issue with our car in 2022. Colchin was able to fit us in quickly, kept us updated on their diagnosis & progress, and provided as much information as they could to help us make our decision.
Cannot say enough good things about Colin Kiel! He's been our main point of contact and his commitment to customer care is unmatched. He is patient, always listens, and goes above & beyond to ensure that we understand what's going on. My latest interaction with Colin was on 4/24/24. Again, he was able to get my car in within 24 hours of my call. He contacted me before they diagnosed the issues with my "Check Engine" light. Called me that day to explain their findings and made sure they would be able to do the repairs to get my car back to me ASAP. He was there to greet me and answered all of my questions: some that had to do with my car and some that were based on a used car purchase in the future. Like I said: above & beyond! :)
I know it can be challenging to find auto mechanics/technicians that are trustworthy. But, I have never once questioned their process, pricing, or intentions with my vehicle. I trust their assessments & advice. Working with Colchin/Colin feels like I am working with a partner to keep my car "healthy" vs. a business trying to up-sell me on services.

I switched to Colchin after lackluster experiences at other shops around town. Prices here are competitive and the service is exceptional. They have a great way of explaining what needs doing and what can be postponed for purposes of budgeting/planning.
I’ll also add that I’ve had the chance to wait in lobby for my car and observe the customers who come and go. Every single interaction is positive and this shop sees a wide variety of folks from people who know a lot about their car to people like me who only know what the internet tells me. I definitely get the sense that customers, myself included, are well pleased with the service and prices.
