The guy who helped me on July 10th, when I was passing through town, certainly didn't act like he appreciated my business. From the minute I walked in his attitude was negative, unfriendly, and impatient. I almost walked out, but really wanted a steak to cook while camping. He never greeted me nor said thank you. Terrible way to conduct business. I see other reviews with the same issue. No complaint on the steak other than it was on sale for $6.99 lb and he charged me $8.99 lb.

First time in and the gentleman that helped me was not friendly at all. Didn’t greet me and thank me for my purchase. Overall, I wasn’t impressed.

Great meat! Great People! I love their meat packages (they have a great variety and cut down on shopping time). If you have dogs or do bone broth they have really cheap, high quality bones. They also accept SNAP.

No better place to get meat in the San Luis Valley. This business is run by a great family that produces great products. I'll always shop here.

I always thought that buying meat at the butcher is expensive. I was wrong! I always bought beef short ribs at Sam's Club (a 5 minute drive from my former house) to make Korean bbq. Since moving to the San Luis Valley, Sam's Club is not accessible to me anymore (unless I drive 2-1/2 hours to Pueblo), so I looked into Valley Meat. The price of their beef short ribs is actually comparable, if not less expensive. I've also bought pork belly, and they cut them to however I want them. Meats that are not available at Walmart, City Market or Safeway, I buy them at the Valley Meat Market. Recently, I bought ox tail there. I have two large German Shepherd dogs. I buy quartered raw femur bones regularly at Valley Meat with prices that do not break the bank. My dogs love them!!! I have to mention that the folks at the meat market are also very nice and friendly. As soon as you walk in, someone will immediately help you. If you do not like to wait, give them a call and place your order. Just let them know when you want to pick up, they'll have your order ready for you. Try them...they have excellent fresh meat!!!

This place is awesome in every way. Great products and service. Affordable prices. I love being able to support the local economy instead of big box. Thanks!
