After shopping at City Market since they opened years ago, I find they have hit a new low! They may be trying to expand but their management knows little about their clientele. Their marketing strategy is horrible- right beside Bud Light! Their item location references still haven't been corrected - they haven't been corrected since opened 25 yrs ago. Building bigger is more than they can handle - only use this store if you want to be bombarded by inefficiency and lack of intelligence.

My significant other hates shopping, but this City Market made it pretty easy on him. Granted we were there at around 7PM on 10/26/2023. I've been here before, and the customer service has been good each go-round. The store is fairly organized and clean. I noticed some great deals on their Kroger branded items. They eased the inflation-induced budget a little. Not much, but a little. At night I noticed the lighting in the parking lot was okay. Could be brighter, but overall it seems to be a safe area. I like grocery shopping here far more than other places in Alamosa. Bring your own bags or gripe about being charged for plastic. Your choice.

For a Tuesday lunch, I bought the deli "Chester's Chicken chicken wing meal." Potatoes wedges and broccoli salad were chosen as sides. Those wings were worse than low-quality cafeteria offering. They felt inadequately cooked and like yesterday's leftover. But the most telling consequence? I was forced to use the bathroom twice (night and morning) to rid myself of the foul food.

Pharmacy was really wonderful in assisting me with a lost or misplaced medicine that my mother really needed. Kudos.

Went to pick up my groceries. Waited almost an hour. To be fair, in the three years I've picked up my groceries, that never happened before. I talked to another woman who was waiting. It was her first time picking up groceries and she said never again. The wind was gusting upwards of 40 mph. Finally I got angry I went inside the store. An employee was just standing there by the front staring into space. I told him my problem he started explaining the situation (someone hadn't showed up to work) to me. I said, "Yeah but that has nothing to do with me. I'm a customer, and I've paid for my order. I'm angry." He took me to see the manager. The manager explained the problem. I said, "I get it but that has nothing to do with me or the other people out there waiting. Cancel my order. I'll shop in the store. There are two other people out there who have been waiting. You need to send someone out to talk to them."She said she'd give me $15 off my order. I said "You can't give me back the time. Cancel my order and show me you've done that." So, for the first time in 3 years I shopped inside City Market. It was very strange and kind disorienting and a little scary. The good parts included seeing people, hearing the beautiful Spanish of this region, finding Gruyere cheese for the first time EVER at City Market, and enjoying the supermarket small talk. Half the people were masked. I'm vaccinated, got Covid, got long Covid. I didn't want to be in there, but I have houseguests coming tomorrow and needed to prepare.I don't understand how the store believed that explaining their situation changed anything or made it OK to make customers wait upwards of an hour. Since they KNEW their situation they should have sent one of the stand-around guys out to the customers and said, "We're short handed and it's taking us 3 times as long to get order out. If you'll come inside to shop, we'll give you a discount" Offering masks to those of us who might have appreciated it would have been nice, too. For that matter, they could have emailed all of us or texted! They have that ability. But no. We waited with no idea what was going on. That's WHERE and WHEN an explanation would be helpful. One of the other women waiting was supposed to pick up her grandkids from school and was frantically trying to reach them or her daughter to let them know she would be late. I'm not the most assertive person in the world and I don't like being angry, but today? That was just very very very poor customer service, totally inconsiderate, apparently oblivious to the needs of the customers -- again, who had already paid!!!! It was like it was our fault. The three stars is because this hasn't happened before. Today was a one star day, absolutely.

While visiting the Great Sand Dunes NP, the market was a delight for purchasing a few gluten free items. When on gluten free diet, dining out is limited in a small town. The market was great to buy gf bread, takeout salads and organic produce.

What a amazing experience!! I'm from out of town and forgot a prescription I needed. The BIG BOX pharmacy Walgreens for some reason is closed ALL weekend. I called the Coty Market Pharmacy and Drew told me he could help. He got my info called my pharmacy from home and then called me back took him 15 minutes to get it all done and ready for me to pickup. Fantastic service!! Thank you thank you..
