By far the worse banking experience of my life. If my local branch in San Diego can't resolve this matter, I am pulling my account and wil never deal with Citibank again. I do some work on the side for my mom's business which is based in Yucaipa, and her business account is through the Citibank in Yucaipa. My mom will pay me by depositing money directly into my account. She went into this Yucaipa branch to do this, as she has many times before, and gave the teller my SS number, DOB and name. The idiot teller put the money into a total stranger's account. I didn't notice this until I was already in LA for a business meeting in which I had to pay someone for doing some work for me. As you can imagine, I was completely embarrassed when I went to pay this person with no money. Also, it made my business look unprofessional. I spoke to the bank manager at Yucaipa and asked for compensation and, with all the social graces of a leprosy-riddled festering pig, she told me that they were not going to do a single thing for me, and she even tried to blame my mom for the error. Let's face it, nobody has time to scrutinize every bank receipt we get and look up our accounts to verify the transaction. That's why we bank with big banks! So we have that assurance. Citibank is a laughing stock. I am talking to my local San Diego branch where i opened my account, and if they can't do anything I am going to go join a credit union.
